how have we not had a proper meeting since OCTOBER
Who: Everyone
When: January 10th, after 6PM
What: it's finally time for another FAMILY MEETING aka info sharing and yelling at eachother session, come and discuss recent discoveries & upcoming plots
Warnings: if there isn't at least ONE attempted murder, is it really a fam meet?
[It's the first day of the last semester, and sometime around lunch a note is slipped into everyone's lockers, as well as posted up in various common areas of the dormitories. In neat, printer-perfect text:]
Transfer Student Meeting
Dormitory Common Room @ 6:15 PM
Don't be late.
[... and that's all anyone gets until the agreed upon time, unless anyone wants to show up early and help Add set up.
Add himself is looking tall & fragment-y today, and by 6:15 PM exactly the whiteboard (that we stole and I assume never gave back because fuck the rules) is at the front of the room with a list of topics to cover. There's extra space left at the bottom for more to be added. His two dynamos are hovering at around shoulder-level by the main entrance, offering a friendly beep! to everyone who enters while they take attendance.
There is alsothe science room's Add's anatomical model standing next to the whiteboard. It's just standing there and looking creepy... it's fine, don't worry about it.
Once everyone arrives, Add goes over the rules—which are pretty simple, because Add doesn't give a shit.]
Let's try to keep this concise and tolerable. Stay on topic, and speak up if you have something useful to contribute. Take your fights outside if you want to kill someone. Failure to abide by these terms will result in removal from the room.
Like it or not... information is key to surviving this place, so working together as a group is the optimal strategy. Some of you will be "graduating" soon, and we still barely know what that entails. I'm not interested in letting this school dictate my future and neither should any of you, and I don't care if you want to find your own method of escape, but pooling our information will prevent wasted time and effort on dead-ends. If you don't agree with that, you can leave and figure it out by yourself.
We've made it this far, starting from practically nothing. Life or death, return or reincarnation... none of that matters because nothing is an impossibility. What matters is that we leave on our terms. Don't settle for less because you think it's too difficult. We will find a way out of this school.
((~FAMILY MEETING OOC RULES~
- this is a mingle!! feel free to start your own toplevels and threadjack into any ongoing discussions.
- off topic threads (like characters just chatting or bringing snacks or whatever) is allowed, but try to keep it contained. this is for sharing info both IC and OOC, so try to think of future-us sometimes and don't leave 38473645 unnecessary shitpost toplevels people will have to scroll past to find the one bit of plot info they needed or w/e
- if you're starting a new discussion topic, please put something in the subject line to make it easier to find! you can also ping/PM me to have it added/linked in the Official™ topic list below.
- if a new discussion topic comes up in the middle of an existing discussion, please consider giving it a fresh toplevel so it's easier to find!
- IC chaos/disruptions are allowed, but expect appropriate IC consequences. Add is a shitty meeting host and has not banned hangman or murders but like, he can manipulate gravity to throw someone out a window, this is exactly what will happen if anyone starts to annoy him.
- priority to sharing plot info should go to whoever discovered it, so please be considerate of others and ask before sharing something another character has been investigating!))

voidschool -- let's begin here
regardless, she'll do as noah had done and raise her hand to be heard, because she's presuming that's simply how you do it here and not that he's an exceptionally good boy.]
About the week we were gone... I'm sure we've all found some things of interest, so why don't we go through it while we can? I can start.
[even if it's smaller than the wet bone room and generator,]
Yashiro-san and I managed to open the piano bench [through definitely peaceful means] in the music room and found a photo album inside it.
[which she'll lay out on the table to be looked at... please don't steal pictures... unless you're komaeda i guess, since his boyfriend is vaguely in there. the note is included, unfolded and tucked into one of the photo holders for ease of viewing.
...
she isn't going to mention the hole in the music room's corner. that isn't important. clearly.]
akamatsu-san...
( going to look at every picture ASIDE from his supposed boyfriend because he doesn't have a boyfriend. )
The piano bench...? It's a shame the one here has already been tampered with, it would have been interesting to gain a few more relics from the past.
( he'll flip through them, stopping a few times. )
What did you think of them?
( the pictures. )
please don't be weird at the meeting.........
just tampered with... kaede has a brief look of relief on her face at that, but it shifts to thoughtful as she considers the question.]
They seem like they made wonderful memories while they were here, as if this was your everyday school. Or, at least, they wanted to keep those happy memories alive more than any hardships they had. They were things that the people who put took them never wanted to forget.
[just like the paper said.]
I'm not a photographer, so I wouldn't be able to tell if they were fake or anything like that... But I think they're important for us to look at, too. To acknowledged that they existed, and that there were things that made it worth being here.
no subject
( shut up, he was waiting by the wisteria.
talking about him, komaeda will point at the blurry photo, almost like he's not surprised whatsoever. it is odd to see him smiling so happy, and he can only think back to when rokkun said he was angry with this place; was angry with being here.
though, it's not just about him, but... )
I'll need just the one photo, but... memories of the past captured in photographs, it is nice to have for reference.
no subject
komaeda hasn't given her a reason not to trust him.]
I don't mind. Even though Yashiro-san might feel a little protective over the album, we shouldn't hesitate to give others what we have if it means we're a little closer to the truth -- just don't lose it, since it's someone's precious memory.
[even if they've forgotten, even if they're not here any longer. kaede thinks it might be important to remember them anyway, so she'll carefully take the photo out for komaeda to accept.]
no subject
( he'll take the photo, looking at it properly, squinting to make sure it's who he thinks it is. he'll looking towards nene though, hm... protective. )
...I can introduce you to him in exchange, he... ( wants to meet my friends... ) wants to meet more people, and an Ultimate like yourself would be able to charm him easily.
no subject
[or a repeat... or something... but nevertheless--]
Well, I don't know about charming... but I'm definitely interested in meeting him. You've got yourself a deal, Komaeda-kun.
no subject
( he jokes, but that could be easy enough to handwave so she won't think of him as different, he already hates to be spoken about. )
Hm...
( holds out hand like he wants to handshake... ) A promise.
no subject
she'll take komaeda's hand since it's offered though. handshake...?]

when we found it, i felt unusually happy. i'm not sure the joy was mine. but i'll admit now i'm a little protective of the album...
( she's sure people will understand what she means. ... right- )
no subject
Was it just... general happiness, or like - did it have any... direction? Er, association, I guess, I should ask.
[Like was it 'happiness at finding the album' or something--]
no subject
happy.

[Rika takes a glance at the photos for a bit, morbidly curious before finding herself asking:]
Do you think that they were afraid of forgetting...?
no subject
Maybe. But I don't think it's unusual for people to say things like that even if they aren't, like... a little wish for the future, to stay friends and cherish the memories they made together.
no subject
[But Rika, unfortunately, for everything that she looks and acts like is jaded and finds it difficult to imagine that.]
They all look really happy. So those memories must be really important to them.
no subject
( he'll take his time flipping through the photos as he comments, pausing here and there to squint at them as if it might make some of the faces seem more familiar to him or something. it doesn't seem to though, and once he reaches the note at the end, he offers a thoughtful hum. )
Or maybe I should say "belongs" — wonder if they're still here...
( actually, even more so than that, he wonders if this might be a good time to bring it up.
... )
Hey, Akamatsu-san, is it fine if I ask you something? Just wanna confirm.
( it might be a little uncomfortable, but... )
no subject
[if only because she doesn't know the question... though whatever she can do to help is something she's willing to bear through]
no subject
( he's pretty certain of it by now — the transfer students are a pretty eccentric bunch, and it'd be hard to forget any one of them. it's something that's been danced around here and there, perhaps, but when it comes to something like this... it feels difficult to ignore. )
no subject
...
kaede looks away, wishing the answer could be different, and shakes her head. she wouldn't even know where to begin pretending if she wanted to.]
I don't. I... know some names once we're introduced, like Yashiro-san and Ishimaru-kun, but... I don't remember anything from earlier this year at all. As far as the unusual stuff that happens here, anyway.
[she remembers, as those vague memories do, the culture festival, the exams, the notes to prove. but specifics...? no.]
no subject
( well, he's still not sure if he should, but kaede will probably find out sooner or later, if she hasn't pieced it together already. )
It's the same for another friend of mine — Kudo-san. Earlier this year, in summer, she died. When she came back in October, she didn't remember a thing about what happened before.
( that's probably enough for kaede to understand her own situation, as much as amami hates it. )
Anyway... ( anyway! ) I don't think forgetting things like that — entire years at a time, even, is so unusual for this place.

It does remind me that the books Rantarou and I had been looking through at the library seemed to only go to the early 1800s, in terms of the year.
[ He is from ye olde past times so the differences seem almost negligible, but every little thing should be out there. ]
