✽ The silence breaks at six to welcome in another crisp Wednesday morning. The sun is shining, the birds are singing, and there's a surprise waiting for anyone who decides to sludge through the snow to inspect the area in front of the auditorium outside. There's a deep indentation in the snow, just large enough for a frozen, charred body to fit in.
✽ There are a total of three bodies to find. All three bodies have now been found.

Also double checking, we know the mysterious blonde hairs are in there, but are there also black hairs, like Ishimaru and the rest of the student council would have, and how are they distributed if so?

There were the typical black hairs in the room as well from the other student council members, including Maya and Ishimaru. It's roughly what you'd expect in a room that's frequented by the same people - there might be some scattered near furniture or on it, such as on the chairs, or a person might have gotten their hair caught on a furniture joint and now it's just there forever, etc.

Another quick Q, Shin only vaguely knows of rigor mortis, but when he was looking at the hand and they were taking the body down, was it stiff?

Yes, the hands would have been stiff. The body is in a state of postmortem rigidity.

Sweet, while I'm here, were there signs of it's less famous cousin, livor mortis? Shin doesn't know about this one, but if there was discoloration and that blanching while they moved the body, it's something for him to be 'huh' about at the time and someone who does know about it to potentially ask later.

Yes, there would be fully discernible livor mortis in addition to the skin damage.

We're kind of having trouble with what's meant by fully discernible. Is it lighter or darker? Is there blanching? Also while I'm here was the stiffness just starting to set in or like, fully there-there?

I'll need more details on how thorough the search was, if they checked under clothes, which body parts, etc, in order to answer this.

he checked the obvious areas first: head, back of head, neck, legs, and as for anything else... probably lifted the back of her shirt to look at her back too, but he wouldn't do the front because he has propriety even if she's dead. frontside more of the same for the limbs (face rather than head though, neck, legs, etc). thorough but he's a proper young man

Natsume is a good kid, I give him and Hiro permission to kill the person who killed Maya.

The body has red splotches covering it already due to the blistered areas, but there will be bluish-purple patches on the front side of her limbs, and the non-damaged parts of her skin are pale. The skin is blanchable. I'm assuming that there were impressions on the extremities and joints as they're squished between nail heads and a ceiling. The stiffness is there-there. It's fully settled into the extremities and is present in the limbs/larger muscle groups.

I'll also note that the blisters and skin damage that were observed on the visible skin are also present on her back.

Rotating back in time to when Shin was checking desks and things, was there anything on the desks themselves?

Lily May was sitting on one of the desks grooming herself. She was offended by the disturbance everyone was causing and left thanks to all the noise and movement.

Just to double check, there's no sign Maya's uniform experienced bleaching, right?

Correct! Aside from where the joints were nailed in, there's no damage to the uniform. Likewise the only staining would be the blood from where the nails were. There's no discoloration or other signs of damage.

This might be a weird question, but what is the ceiling like? Is it just flat drywall or tiles or are there visible joists etc?

OH also what do the windows look like, are they sash windows or do they have like those sticky upper things on the inside?

AND HOW HIGH IS THE CEILING?

They're just drywall! There are some lights on there though, maybe a vent or two since I think those are commonly put there, but it's otherwise it's just a flat ceiling.

They're sliding windows with the lock on the side.

The standard ceiling height for a classroom seems to be about 10 feet, so it's somewhere around that height.

Were the windows locked at this time?

They were locked tight. I'll also confirm that there weren't any signs of the locks being tampered with or anything of that nature.

Although they haven't been tampered with, what's the locking mechanism for the windows, do they take a key (what kind) or are just like a physical pin or slidy thing?

Also Maya's pockets, Len wants to know what position the items were within them and I want to know what the 'odds and ends' are bc i have a pathological need to know how many paperclips Maya was carrying. Is the Student Council Key a loose key or is it on a lanyard/string/keyring etc?

Also, is there any gap between the door and the floor, or between it and it's frame?

The window has a latch lock. It follows similar rules to the door, so it can only be (un)locked from the inside.

Can you clarify what you mean by the position? Generally when things are in you're pocket they just kind of hang there. It's just some loose change and maybe a couple paperclips and some lint or something, there's not a lot there. The key is on a keyring, but it's not on the same one as her house keys, and it is the only key.

There is no gap between the door and the floor or its frame.
