♪ my class trial, our class trial ♫
Who: Everyone + Hiro if ori wants
When: January 12th, then anytime past January 15th
Where: Common Room
What: please let's wake steph and also maybe prove miyuki innocent if he really is
Warnings: tbd
[there is no gentle way to do this on the pda.
but you know what that is perfectly fine they were doing CSI rp earlier what's one more--]
All hands, round up.
Think we've got as much as we can right now, so let's settle in and work it out -- together. Come to the usual meet-up spot as soon as you can, and we're not leaving until the perp's worked out. Bring your own joe and a wit sharp as can be, because we are in for the long haul.
Detective Akamatsu, signing out.
[...
a-anyway.
meng yao's done his best to preserve one (1) stephanie meanswell and she's currently laying on the couch in a state some may find familiar and others not at all, but she's very much alive -- if barely. have your shock and surprise, this is going to be once all evidence is collected icly. also after noah and kaede make a grave for miss vp god rest her soul.
...
hiro is allowed to be here, if he wants, if only because part of this is his sister's death and one of y'all had BETTER take care of him.
there are no snacks, no drinks unless you byoj (bring your own joe), and kaede will wait until... all or presumably all are filed in before she speaks.]
I hate to say this, but you all are easily more experienced with this than I am... Still, there's no reason to wait on this when one of our classmates has turned up dead, and another [she is assuming stephanie is theirs] is in the state that she is. I don't want to think one of us had anything to do with it, but turning away from the truth only invites more pain--
So let's lay out what we know and try not to go at each others' throats about it.
[please. even the most unbelievable, impossible happenings have roots to them, and she wants it solved -- not just for hiro's sake, who's pain is something she can barely imagine, but for stephanie and the vice principal, too.]

Which part are you struggling with? We're friends, so I'll help you out.
no subject
... What'd I miss? [like how is she supposed to recall robbie's weird petnames without more context]
no subject
And Sporty! That Sportacus guy you mentioned~. Super athletic, good at snowball fights, and really nice!
[a pleasant elfman.]
no subject
[all bravado gone in an instant.]
no subject
Yeah... Okay, so-- you've... sorta got the story right, in a way? And... I'm sorry for not stopping you when I should've. If I'd known what was gonna happen after, I never would've let you lie about the taffy.
[...]
Steph, you disappeared completely at the end of October. I dunno what you did at the time, but you just vanished. And about at the same time, that guy you mentioned turned up. And now, he's gone-- and you're back.
[in one piece. sportacus was also in one piece, technically.]
So I dunno all of what happened between then and now for you, or anything like that, but that's what you missed.
no subject
No, no. That can't be right. He wouldn't leave without me.
no subject
no subject
except she thinks she does. she just doesn't want to.]
no subject
nene and natsume have said it too, now-- subaru'll give her an apologetic look, though. sorry. sorry, sorry, he has no fault in this he knows but maybe if he hadn't let her go about the taffy, maybe if he'd followed after her on halloween instead of going out candy hunting, maybe--
what's done is done and there's no use thinking of maybes, especially since if she hadn't wanted to be found she wouldn't have been then.]
no subject
i don't think he had a choice.
it was a trade- you or him.
i did something similar with hanako-kun. to bring him here i lost someone- to send him back i took that someone back.
( and then nene squeezes stephanie's hand in hers, because it's a horrible feeling. as the trade-off or the trader- perhaps in stephanie and sportacus's case, both. )
no subject
no subject
how do you burden her with that, when you know she's already forcing the world onto her shoulders, when she would die in a heartbeat if it would save others? a heart as big as the sky, and not a single piece is reserved for her own well-being.
you don't. )
...
i'll be okay. it's a slow process but i'm getting there.
no subject
no subject
( ...natsume has to look at her. he does. he has to because she deserves it. )
Ishimaru-kun mentioned finding an arm on the fourth FLOOR, one he thinks could only belong to Sportacus-san based on its musculaTURE.
no subject
His.
[she pushes herself off the couch. stumbling a bit, colt-like, but keeping her balance, just barely. not looking at anything but the floor.]
... Whose blood is this?
no subject
That's what we're trying to figure out... Stephanie-san. We don't know. We have a lot of pieces, but we still need to connect them together -- to see how they line up, and the sort of picture they make.
no subject
[a pause.]
... I don't know how. I don't remember anything else.
no subject
[she'll look at nene... you're about her size. you seem close to her. this is the best choice.]
Yashiro-san, do you mind?
no subject
just for a little bit, okay? and then we'll get to the bottom of this.
( like, five minutes tops. hopefully nothing will be on fire? )
no subject
but, she takes her hand. she doesn't want to know whose blood this is.]

natsume's voice softens, but just in the way people do when they're sympathetic. not because she's a child, not because he isn't taking her seriously, because he understands maybe a little more than most people right now. )
Unless you're grievously injured someWHERE, probably not YOURS.
( ... )
The little lamb might be right it was a TRADE, but Akamatsu-san has a point: we're still figuring things OUT.
no subject
[time to put all emotions in the emotions box until later or never that's the healthy response.]
The trade thing doesn't sound right. If you trade somebody for somebody else, wouldn't you take the whole thing? I'm not... I know I'm little, but I'm not worth only three-fourths of a grown-up. Something else must've happened.
no subject
Then it's up to us to figure out what did, isn't IT? ( ... ) But you don't have to speak up unless you feel like it from now ON. You must be TIRED.
( emotionally. not physically, though maybe there's some of that from whatever happened, but emotionally. )
no subject
I already wasted enough time. [being. trapped in the shadow realm?] There's nothing more important than figuring out who did this.
[she's not even in the top ten.]
no subject
( wrong. yes he makes the sound. )
You're more imporTANT. Sportacus-san'd want you to take care of yourself first TOO, and make sure you're alright before you started into anything ELSE. ( ...
probably. he had that kind of softness about stephanie, even with his confidence in her. he relates. ) Get cleaned up and CRY. You aren't the only one who's done that today and still had to sit down for a meeting with a bunch of chickens running around with their heads cut-off until something STICKS.
