♪ my class trial, our class trial ♫
Who: Everyone + Hiro if ori wants
When: January 12th, then anytime past January 15th
Where: Common Room
What: please let's wake steph and also maybe prove miyuki innocent if he really is
Warnings: tbd
[there is no gentle way to do this on the pda.
but you know what that is perfectly fine they were doing CSI rp earlier what's one more--]
All hands, round up.
Think we've got as much as we can right now, so let's settle in and work it out -- together. Come to the usual meet-up spot as soon as you can, and we're not leaving until the perp's worked out. Bring your own joe and a wit sharp as can be, because we are in for the long haul.
Detective Akamatsu, signing out.
[...
a-anyway.
meng yao's done his best to preserve one (1) stephanie meanswell and she's currently laying on the couch in a state some may find familiar and others not at all, but she's very much alive -- if barely. have your shock and surprise, this is going to be once all evidence is collected icly. also after noah and kaede make a grave for miss vp god rest her soul.
...
hiro is allowed to be here, if he wants, if only because part of this is his sister's death and one of y'all had BETTER take care of him.
there are no snacks, no drinks unless you byoj (bring your own joe), and kaede will wait until... all or presumably all are filed in before she speaks.]
I hate to say this, but you all are easily more experienced with this than I am... Still, there's no reason to wait on this when one of our classmates has turned up dead, and another [she is assuming stephanie is theirs] is in the state that she is. I don't want to think one of us had anything to do with it, but turning away from the truth only invites more pain--
So let's lay out what we know and try not to go at each others' throats about it.
[please. even the most unbelievable, impossible happenings have roots to them, and she wants it solved -- not just for hiro's sake, who's pain is something she can barely imagine, but for stephanie and the vice principal, too.]

Then... that's strange. Because the nails were just through her joints, and the burns... would that be enough to kill?
[He's no medical expert.]
Don't tell me she basically bled to death.
...
It was way too neatly done for her to be anything but unconscious or already dead at the time... No blood under her fingernails either.
[Nailing someone to the ceiling that methodically takes time and strength, and causes a lot of pain. Shin knows from personal experience even the weak can struggle a little.]
no subject
Arisu had to have been unconscious or dead, but she had basically mentioned that she was going to be in the student council room in the first place. Hm. ]
I feel like one aspect we're missing here is the timeline of events. It's probably difficult to suss out, but if President Arisu did mean to have the Vice Principal meet with her, then that begs the question if she had actually made it to that meeting in the first place.
If the Vice Principal did, then was... Arisu still alive at the time? Or would she have found the same thing we did?
no subject
It's difficult to make a timeline before you have more than half the crime figured OUT, but I see your POINT. There's no surefire way to...
( ....... wait, no. )
Akamatsu-san and Ebalon-kun both mentioned the Vice Principal had suffered a FALL. Depending on which side they found her boDY, there's some rooms that line-up with the auditorium's placement—the Student Council Room is one of THOSE. Windows are easy enough to open and CLOSE, so we can't count their use out regardless of their state NOW.

Oh, it is! Ishiban and I egged that side of the building and hit one of the members!

Ishiban-- Ishimaru?!

You're such a CHILD. ( and to noah: ) Thank you for the clarification—Baru-kun's idiocy aSIDE, you're both RIGHT.
( hmmm. )
Assuming the note did come from the little wolf and was given to the vice princiPAL, it's very likely the timeline of events is that the vice principal came seCOND... I wonder if the murderer was in the middle of THINGS, or if they followed after her and caught them both by surPRISE? ( natsume leans back in the cough, thinking. ) The former would mean the little wolf'd been killed or was in the process of being killed or strung UP, and the vice principal is just an unfortunate casualty to get rid of a witNESS.
Seeing as she didn't have any keys on her as mentioned by Akamatsu-san, but the door was locked when we got THERE... They probably took any from her body post-DEATH, tossed her from the winDOW, cleaned everything UP, and then locked the door on their way OUT.
no subject
Mm~... I dunno if she was being strung up at the time though, 'cause unless the person could like, keep Macchi up there somehow, wouldn't the holes be worse?
[super strength... stasis... something like that...]
no subject
It's already strange she didn't have worse holes in the first PLACE, but we can chalk that up to there not being too much time between her murder and Shirogane-kun's discovery of her body, I supPOSE.
( ... )
And unless someone's very powerFUL, magically or physicalLY, it's hard to imagine just one person managing to put her up there in the first place on their OWN.
(no subject)
no subject
Right... if they'd stopped before they were done there'd be signs of that, wouldn't there?
[Thinking...]
It makes more sense if it's the meeting itself that was interrupted... that would explain why they both were burned as well. Guess the question then is if that was intentional.
[He's still thinking about the hairs. He doesn't quite believe Subaru, but the commonality in both places is... interesting.]
Hey, Hiro... Could you take a look at this?
[He's heading over to where the aforemented is, settling down on his haunches and awkwardly holding out the note; the physical copy, not the photograph.]
You know your sister's handwriting, right? Does it match?

Sorry if I missed something, but... are we sure that note was in Arisu's handwriting? Is there a way to compare it?
no subject
( it's better than nothing, really. )
Those who'd be most familiar with it are Hiro-kun and... likely Ishimaru-kun as WELL, since he's been on the council with her longEST.

There wasn't anything to imply she'd been poisoned either—no bodily reacTIONS, to put it plainLY, or any food or drink left beHIND. ( ... ) But she hadn't been knocked out or anything like that either—we would've noticed any injuries on her HEAD.
( Natsume, particularly, has experience with. Those. )
There's not enough blood for her to have bled to DEATH... It did smell like someone cleaned up in THERE, but it was too faint to have been from cleaning up enough blood to kill someONE. In my opinION. I'm no medical expert, THOUGH.
( he's just working through it slowly. a few things here and there, like what stephanie had implied that— nailed to the ceiling? right, one person couldn't have done that, not unless they were superhuman or not human at all. it took two of them to get her down, and deadweight even on a barely five-foot-tall girl is still heavy deadweight. maya if you're reading anyone calling you heavy no you're not.
but still. she would have struggled, but the only way for her to not struggle is for her to be unconscious somehow...
natsume's quiet for a moment, lips pursed, and this isn't really to shin so much as it is to anyone who might have an answer for them: )
What does happen if you destroy someone's shaDOW?
( ... )
no subject
Hm?
( hearing about the shadow students, he thinks back to his conversation with rokkun, considering he was one of the students that went missing during a certain fiasco. )
I don't think you were around at that moment, Sakasaki-kun, but by the pool... Lucifer-kun blew up various shadow students to stop them from taking a dead body. All in all, we all thought it was Clamor-san... but Fake Clamor-san appeared moments after.
( whatever, he's here to answer the question properly. )
Do you remember when most of the student body in the third years called out for migraines? Rokkun was one of them having told me the exact time when he was inflicted with his ailment that I was able to match it up with Lucifer-kun's spell. ...It could have been worse, tampering with a shadow student like that could have killed them, but I guess that was quite a lucky spell.
no subject
...Thank you for the informaTION, Nagito-kun. We can at least put it on the table as a possibility for why there might not have been a struggle or much of ONE.
( most struggles come with defensive wounds if there's no sneak attack happening after all. fun good facts for everyone. )
no subject
( with that said, it would be an easy way to attack maya, especially if she didn't scream or make any sounds... and it's not like the stuco is soundproof either. )
...That would make any murder by that method rather quiet.
( he falls silent, before smiling briefly. ) Have hope, this'll get figured out, Arisu-san wouldn't want you to keep up such a grouchy expression.
no subject
She didn't CARE. ( he didn't hate that about her, though. ) Shut up and go back to bothering Hiyori-kun. I'll ask for you if I need YOU.
no subject
Hm...
( looks at shin, looks at natsume. )
Alright, I'll ruin his life. ( looks like he has to go back to being a limpet. ) Your pride is your strongest vice, so if you need me... do call for me, Sakasaki-kun.
( okay, he's leaving. )
