I hate to say this, but you all are easily more experienced with this than I am... Still, there's no reason to wait on this when one of our classmates has turned up dead, and another [she is assuming stephanie is theirs] is in the state that she is. I don't want to think one of us had anything to do with it, but turning away from the truth only invites more pain--

[ ASUNARO, for all it's fault, is a company that values the truth. It's only natural that it's creation would be the same. Such as it is, Ranger doesn't hate that answer. It's better for a person to be honest. It's simpler than some false sense it's selflessness about a stranger. He can work with that, and so he opens his mouth to ask who this person does want to be branded, which would without a doubt end badly, when Komaeda interrupts him.

His dressing, huh...? It is about that time. He's still recovering from an injury. Ranger nods. ]

Sure, I don't mind... Oh, he got stabbed. Still recovering.

[ Ranger must have noticed the confusion to add that. He's realized by now that Miyuki is slow, so he tries to be clear. Still, he thinks that's enough advice so he'll leave it at that, nodding once more to Komaeda before reaching out to give his prosthetic a little tug. His voice softens a touch as he continues on, ]

C'mon, break time for both of us. I'll take care of you.

[commences]

He's good with his hands, feather-like touches are necessary for a tender wound!

( it's because they're in the dormitory, and it's easier to get to their rooms compared to komaeda walking all the way back to the main school in hopes that the nurse is still here. he doesn't trust many people to clean his wound, and reapply his dressing. )

Mmm... Don't worry, Shirogane-kun, if you maintain a level head, and keep hope alive... you'll see this through!

( miyuki feels too honest to do something like this, but these types have the sharpest bites.

he allows his prosthetic to be taken, following along as he lifts his other hand with a wave ro say goodbye to miyuki for the moment. )

Word of advice: Never ask the counselor to stick it inside of you, he'll ruin the experience by pulling out.

( when komaeda asked the counselor to stab him, and he pulled the knife out next. he would just bleed out with no one to help him because he knows the man isn't qualified in that field, and he thinks miyuki's unlucky enough to get stabbed when the nurse isn't in.

he looks to ranger: )

Think I'm making a speedy recovery...?

[ Ranger has the feeling that Komaeda's messing with the guy, so he tugs him along a little quicker. It's embarrassing to be described like that, especially when it's followed up by such a strange way of describing what he knows isn't what he's trying to make it sound like. ]

Sheesh... You're embarrassing.

[ He grumbles, though he really wouldn't expect anything else. Either way, it's completely distracted him from whatever he'd been thinking before. ]

Yeah, I think so. Should be back to normal in no time.

[commences]

Shirogane-kun should take it too heart, I was plenty disappointed by it.

( he'll allow himself to be dragged away even quicker, following with until he he sees a few chairs on the other side that they can go sit. oh, maybe it should be more personal. )

Are we going to your room or mine? When you're finished touching me, we can come back.

[rearranger]

I think anyone would be.

[ Who enjoys getting stabbed to begin with. He thinks about the chairs, but he's not sure that Komaeda really wants to be pulling his shirt up in public. People were so nosy... Can he stop saying it in a weird way? ]

We can do it in my room. I don't think it'll take long... Is it still pretty sore?

[commences]

Okay, we can do it in your room. Don't be too rough, I told Shirogane-kun your hands are gentle.

( please don't be hard on him, he's very weak. )

Too much pressure irritates it, but when I sleep and cover brushes against it, it's not so bad...

[ He huffs. ]

[ He thinks. Maybe he's just been around teenagers too long. ]

( he could say anything really, just whatever comes to mind, and if it doesn't make sense does this means that's where the problem lies? )

[ They're going into the hallway now, and he's grateful for that. Maybe he was just embarrassing himself, but that look from Shirogane didn't make it seem that way. ]

Anyway, it must've just been my mistake, since you've got a better idea of when somebody's saying something weird than I do.

[ Mumble mumble... He's not very socially adept, so it's easy to make him second guess things like this. It's in his database not to question that anymore. ]

You're learning something, though... I wonder what was weird about what I said. Could you tell me? You help me with these problems.

( he knows what he said, but that doesn't stop him from teasing the other to make him say it aloud. )

[rearranger]

I dunno. That kid was the one giving you a look. Why don't you ask him? He seems pretty busy, but I'm sure he can explain it better than me.

[ It's an attempt at a deflection that he can already hear the counter to. He huffs. ]

You just wanna hear me say it so you can make fun of me, don't you?

[ As if he's not already embarrassed. ]

How do you know he was embarrassed? I think he was relatively fine, but if you repeat it, it helps me understand.

( helps him tease ranger even further because who is going to stop him? no one. )

The same reason you do it to everyone, so you can tease me 'cause you think it's funny to get a reaction out of me.

[ Anyway, he's setting his cards down and pulling Komaeda's shirt up now. Those bandages aren't going to change themselves.

He's probably just going to keep pushing it until he says it though. Komaeda is like a cat that wants attention. He's relentless. Rio sighs. ]

... Fine, I'll repeat it for you.

[commences]

No! I wouldn't tease you for a reaction! That would mean I find happiness at your expense.

( then why does he do it? of course, it's to play, but without the ill will. that's still teasing, but the definition changes when komaeda opens his dictionary. )

( with his shirt lifted, komaeda doesn't stop him, but he'll see that his bandages have already been tended to. )

[rearranger]

[ He looks from the bandages up to Komaeda's face a couple times. The cards are already put away so he doesn't grab them, but there's a questioning look on his face. Was he being too harsh?

Anyway, he's lifting up the shirt more now and leaning forward just in case. ]

Let's see... "Never ask the counselor to stick it inside of you, he'll ruin the experience by pulling out."

[ He repeats it flatly. It's not embarrassing to say by itself, or at least no more than anything else, but the look he was given was and he's sure whatever Komaeda has to say will be. ]

Though I dunno if I'd say I have "feather-light" touches either.

[ Rio does his best, but he can still be rougher than he'd like. It can be difficult to judge, and Komaeda is rather frail. ]

[commences]

...Mhm. He pulled out, and everything sort of blurred. If he wanted to stay inside of me, I wouldn't have any complaints.

( is that so wrong considering if he had kept the knife inside, komaeda wouldn't have almost bled out or died. he recalls how if he had relied on someone but himself, he would have died. as he watches rio deal with his bandages that are clean and taken care of, what would the other done if he walked in on komaeda's lifeless body? it reminds him why he can't rely on others, or they'll walk into something unfortunate. )

They're light, doesn't leave a mark on my body. Or are you just too gentle with me?

( he laughs, lifting his hand with a short wave so that rio doesn't have to think too much about it. )

[rearranger]

See, it sounds weird when you put it that way. You just got a knife to the gut. But you're right, if you get stabbed, you're not supposed to remove the item.

[ He frowns a little as he stares for a few seconds longer before tugging the shirt down. It feels a bit like a failure that he wasn't there, but he doesn't linger on that thought. Maybe he has been around teenagers for too long.

He flops down on the bed next to him. He dismisses the question, but Rio answers anyway, ]

I've been working on it. It's defeating the purpose if I'm being too rough.

[commences]

You're fine! I was only teasing.

( rio isn't rough on him at all, he's way too gentle, and komaeda's used to a little heavy handed anyway. while he is frail, and easy to bruise, it's not like he'll die. his luck keeps him alive to tease him knowing that pain comes and goes, which he'll never be affected by it. it's upsetting, but he'll pull down his shirt, fixing it properly. )

Can you check and see if I still have my kidney?

[rearranger]

[ He'd probably tell Komaeda not to tease him about things like that, but the question erases that thought from his mind. His kidney? ]

Sure, I can check... Do they have an organ black market around here or something?

[ Because why would anyone take that? Though if it's missing then they'll just have to get him a new one.

He's leaning in closer again now, staring at his torso like he'll be able to tell that way (he cannot.) Everything else seems fine though. ]

Do you wanna go back soon?

[ Because if not Ranger's going to flop down on the bed next to him once he's done staring at where his kidneys should be. ]
