[She answers in a sing-song voice, but she makes it rather obvious that she is just saying it in jest.]
Is it really that surprising? I just simply did it because I'd benefit from it, that's all.
[Liar.]
Well, I'm also just not a huge fan of murder. It's seriously abnormal how so many people's first instinct is "yes, I'm going to fucking stab someone or something".
[Not going to say anything about how reliable she is or anything because she has a lot of mixed feelings on that front; many that float to the surface.]

[ Probably better to not make fun of the person taking care of your bandages. Really, the words are so familiar that it's almost troubling, but it's also still endearing from a base standpoint.
She's absolutely lying, but he'll let that slide. ]
As much as I hate it, apparently there were some incentives in place. Add in paranoia and revenge, and... unfortunately, it becomes that much more appealing.

[Inaba's quiet for a moment, deep in thought as she runs things over in her head.]
In his particular case, I suppose I understand. When you've already lost something important to you--and then someone who was considered a potential culprit brings you back to the scene of the crime alone, a lot of assumptions can be made there. The thoughts of "what if this person is doing this to kill me next" and "if I don't do something, then I'll die", things like that. You can probably argue that revenge was also a thought, too--there's a lot going on. But even if I can understand it...
[Her words trail off, and her gaze is distant, a little pitiful.]
...it's sad that anything has to come to that.
