[ that's separate from the flaws, it's almost like overcompensating, but what he does better in another field hides where he lacks. no one will notice those glaring holes in his personality unless they know him well enough, but if he puts efforts into everything, then no one will be able to notice. what it comes down to is if subaru wants those holes to be seen, like now, despite his efforts to hide those parts of him, midori continues to peel back layers and layers until he's located the benign cancer deep within. if nurtured, subaru can make it become malicious, and it'll hurt him, and he'll hurt himself in order to achieve a new form because the old skin doesn't fit him anymore. he'll want new, clean, healthier skin... but if midori's quick enough, he can cut out the sick easily. ]
