Lonely and looking for love? Friends, maybe? Well look no further—the ASUNARO-sponsored Spring Speed-dating Festival has begun. Join us in room 3-A, where participants will then be given an assignment of "even" or "odd" and seated at a numbered table. You only have so long to talk to your partner before the bell rings and it's time to move on, but not to worry, if you find someone you like, the two of you can step out together! At the end of each round, "even" players will stay at their tables, and "odd" will move to the next. This is mostly flavour, but there is one important piece to keep in mind: in the interest of nobody being left out, leaving before the end of the event is only allowed in pairs.

Better hope you find someone you click with!

getting to know each other

So you've found someone you vibe with—congratulations! The next step is getting to know each other a little more. Cementing the bond, y'know? But high school is maybe a little young for marriage, so let's stick to the dates.

For the duration of the festival, classroom 3-E has been transformed into a makeshift movie theatre. Stop in with your date to watch one of these heart-racing movies, guaranteed to bring you and your date closer together! For the more romantic of the bunch, classroom 3-B will be home to dance lessons. Find a partner and get to know a Waltz, Argentine Tango, or request another, and try not to step on each other's feet as you get up-close and personal.

[her expression brightens to hear them, glad that they're up and functioning again. from being battered and tired from the forest incident to now, they seem far more alert and together.]

Hello, Dynamo! I am, thank you for asking - it's wonderful to know you're here as well.

[this is after all a nice diversion from classes and homework, or anything else tedious.]

My goodness, it's been a while. I'm surprised that you came, however, I didn't know you had any interest in a festival like this. Oh, forget all that though, how are you doing?

All systems functioning within acceptable levels. Repairs were carried out by Rio Ranger and Sou Hiyori and marked cleared as of 2000-04-22. [the other Sou Hiyori... hopefully she can pick up on that, because Dynamo will in fact be calling them both Sou Hiyori until one of them corrects it] AI integrity, battery efficiency and hologram generators have also been improved. Dynamo unit D-3987035-03 located as of 2000-04-23.

[anyway, they give an excited little bebeep] Dynamo is assisting with festival coordination! Please submit any feedback to Dynamo!

[there's a quiet whir, another string of inquisitive beeps... she can probably gather the impression that she's being examined more closely by one of the drones, circling around her briskly.

Helena Adams has been injured. [but she has also received repairs... so it's merely a curious statement, lacking the tact to pose it as a question.]

[she can track the sound, note where it is, and thus gain an idea that one of the Dynamos is going around her, taking it all in. it's a relief to know that Dynamo has been repaired, that they found another of their kind - seriously, where was Add putting all of them? weren't they allowed to be around?

but she smooths her blanket a little, and nods at the statement-question.]

You don't have to worry. It's all mending.

[she'd been telling most people that if she didn't feel up to being out, she wouldn't be, but Dynamo requires a special touch, a more direct answer. her repairs, such as they are, just are going to take time to complete. and extending her hand to the drone closest there, she hopes she can connect and touch, to give it a little pat. they're doing a good job! they need a headpat.]

[they beep back in reply, accepting her answer without argument. injuries are normal—there's no need for concern at this stage as long as it's being treated effectively, and Helena is recovering just fine according to their own analysis.

although, Helena is also not a battle unit or a fighter... she should not be coming to harm in the first place. they consider this for a moment, humming under her touch.

they were never programmed for complex emotion. all that they know is learned, tenuous at best without Add to guide them... but they know how Master Add would feel, if a friend was hurt. they know how it feels to lose something important.]

Helena Adams is a friend. Master Add would be upset that she was hurt. Dynamo... [another soft beep, hesitant] Dynamo does not want Helena Adams to be hurt.

Please allow Dynamo to assist before engaging in dangerous activities.

[they won't tell her not to... but they want to be able to help. they want to keep her safe.]

...Of course. Thank you, Dynamo.

[another knot in the long cord that twists around her core, pressing in the wrong spaces so that it hurts. she's even made Dynamo worry, with this. how she wishes she had woken earlier, to reassure anyone. how she wishes there was something like Lucifer's magic to wrap around herself and pretend everything was fine. so much, taken for granted.

she has to get well, as soon as she can.]

I'm so sorry to have worried you.

[it's much subtler than they're used to... but they recognize the tone, the body language. Helena is still hurting. with three drones to work with, they can keep one in her hand while the other two move to her shoulders... gently pressing in, like a very strange sort of hug. the drones are warm, vibrating slightly as their internals whir to keep them airborne.

this is how Master Add liked to be comforted. they're unsure if Helena would prefer a different method... but they'll try this one to start with. they don't want Helena to be sad.]

Dynamo is not worried. Helena Adams is safe now.

[it's a wonderfully sweet gesture, and like this, they'll feel and see how she relaxes, recognizing the hug for what it is. the comfort comes through, and Helena breathes a little easier for it.]

Yes. Thanks to you and all the others...and I know certainly nothing bad will happen here. It's an event made for happiness, after all!

[she pauses then.]

Though if something does occur, I'll be headed your direction straight away.

[hugs will continue until morale improves... which is to say, they continue to hug her until she's fully relaxed again, then retract just enough to hover at her shoulders instead.

noting in her file that Helena likes hugs... anyway]

Dynamo will neutralize all threats to the event! [bebeep!! along with some light crackling, and she'll probably feel the faint tingle of electricity from the drones... yes, they will shock anyone who is mean at speed-dating. the arguing couple in the background is on thin fucking ice.]

Hopefully you don't have to, though. We're supposed to be celebrating love and enjoying ourselves, not causing trouble...

[but does that stop anyone at a meeting? no. they should just have a fistfight every start of the meeting at this point to get it out of the system.]
