You're close. The power of the moon is known best for its healing properties, at least in Elrios. While there are also markings that depict the light and shape of the stars in this circle, the moon is its most prominent feature. The inscriptions within the outer and inner rings read as a call for rest and reprieve from the spirits of the moon. Should they answer, it would create a field of healing energy.

Spirit magic works a bit different from other types of summoning, though, so I'm not sure how well it would work here if you actually tried to use it. It's a request for help, not a command, so it would depend on the temperament of the local spirits more than anything. They can also be pretty fickle... but it would be hard to mess up an Illipia circle badly enough to cause harm.

Fascinating. Would Ghosts Count As Spirits, Or Are Spirits - In This Context - Different Than The Unfortunate Souls Resigned To Walk The Earth Once They've Passed?

Ouch, that's a bit harsh. I don't think I'm that unfortunate for still being here. [has he told natsume he's literally a ghost in a sickle?? w/e he's saying this anyway, feel free to be confused about it. make your own conclusions!!]

They're similar, but not exactly the same... ghosts don't normally stick around unless there's something keeping them in place, and they don't hold the same kind of powers that spirits do. Powerful spirits can manifest a physical body, but it's normal for most lesser spirits not to have one at all. The main difference is that spirits are born the way they are, so they're a lot more resilient. A human ghost would have to come from a very powerful mage to keep its consciousness together all on its own.

That said, I don't normally work with ghosts, so most of that is speculation. You better not be thinking about getting into necromancy, kid.

I Appreciate The Impromptu Lecture Regardless - I've Never Spoken To Either Ghosts Or Spirits Before. My Magic Deals Mainly With The Corporeal And Alchemy.
