Finale
It takes years to build up a school and just a single day to burn it all down. It takes but a moment for permanent scars to be left on a place and the people within it. From scorched hallways to violence and distrust to the penance of those who should have protected them all that time, yet were too cowardly to do more than tap the glass.
Years to build it, a moment to break it, and so much longer to build it back up. But build it up they have. The hallways of Yogen High no longer run red with blood. There is no longer a void that traps souls within it, no blue flames that tightly bind souls and hold them in place so that they might never escape, and those souls which have been here for far too long have moved on. In such a short time, nothing more than a snapshot in the school's long life, everything has changed. Everything has changed, and it can never be the same again.
There's just one more piece left.
Students are called to the auditorium for a mandatory assembly. However much they might resist, they'll find themselves entering the room in an almost half-asleep state, and before they know it they'll find themselves seated and staring at an empty podium. It's only once everyone is seated that the sound of footsteps will be heard, and the counselor takes his place before it. His expression is easy and calm, no different than how he always seems to carry himself. It's natural, like slipping into one's favorite shoes, despite how many years it's been side he last did so.
It starts with the introductions and formalities that students are so used to. But he carries on to acknowledge the school's history; how it was built from nothing, yet it was built for students to grow and succeed. It was meant to be a place of sanctuary for all who entered it, as all schools should be - a place where even those who have nothing at home can feel safe and supported, a place where those who only think of going back at the end of the day can think of as a second home that they'll look back at fondly. It's a place of rest where people can find and support each other, and one where they could stay until they were so ready to move on to the next phase in life.
"Of all the years I've been here," he continues, "This has been the most satisfying to watch... For years, I have watched the slow changes within it. This year, I have watched how the whole might be immeasurably changed by removing but a single grain of sand. But each and everything we do changes the world around us, and so have you all." He chuckles, "I barely recognize the place."
He goes on to acknowledge various player actions, both good and bad. Those who were lost, those who were saved, the world that they created and broke down; the way that each and everyone one of them has left their mark in a way that can never be removed, on both the school and each other. The students scars left upon the school have started to heal. While he doesn't offer any names, students should know who they've saved - Kazuki, Keigo, Haruka, Rokkun, Nao and Rei, hundreds of named and nameless students, and most of all each other. It leaves the unspoken question: Who has he been able to save?
"'Why are you still here?' I've had friends and students ask, and I have pondered the same since," He spares a glance to Noah now, a brief moment of amusement seeming to cross his features, "Do you not see our vision?" Miyuki next, and his eyes skim over others whom he's watched build it up, "Why, when this place has already been entrusted to all of you by my colleagues? It was so that I could watch over each and every soul who came here, so that I could stay until I was no longer needed. But whatever has been thrown at you, you have all persevered without needing me to step in. You have overcome every hardship, and I believe many of you will stay to continue to do so. You shall leave it better than you found it, a place where trees grow and the water runs clean, a school in which souls can heal.
"You already know how to leave, and if you don't, you will find the exit when you're ready. As for me, I believe I am ready. Today will be my last day. I leave this place to our lovely staff and students, and I am only sad that I cannot see you all continue to thrive. I hope that you will continue to support each other, and that you won't forget what is important. So long as you can do those things, you will succeed. I have left you all the tools that you need, and a parting gift to make the transition easier. I hope you find it to your liking."
He ends his speech by reaffirming his belief in the faculty and staff of Yogen, and his desire to see them do well, and hopes that the years will continue to be as productive as the last year and odd-months have been. After thanking them for their time and offering a fond farewell, he will step off the stage, and the spell that has held characters in place will break. Students will filter out and discuss the counselor's retirement, seeming to think nothing of the oddities in his speech, instead gossiping about who will replace him and this and that. The counselor himself will be around for a time.
The final piece of Yogen has been slotted into place. The halls no longer run red with blood. The water is no longer tinted pink. The world is no longer silent. The student council and faculty look to build up what was once broken, and before long this place might be more than just a school - it might become the Yogen town that those who leave in the evening believe to exist outside of this small world. Everything has changed and it can never be the same again.
Graduation is no longer something that occurs one day of the year.
There is a door in the basement that leads to a void of its own, but there is a pathway of light that can guide them to the end of their journey. It will not open for those who haven't settled their regrets and issues, for those who aren't absolutely certain that they're prepared for what follows, but once they have they may go through it at any time. They only need to keep walking forward until they reach the end, whether that be reincarnation or a return to the place that hey came from. For those who are lucky, a miracle might occur and allow them to keep their memories of their time spent here.
There is a place in the forest that is hidden. It takes a long time to get there, but while much of the forest will remain dangerous so long as humans fear the unknown and lose themselves within it, there is a pathway that will guide students who are ready to move onto the next phase of life here too. As long as they don't stray from it, they will be safe; those who hesitate will find themselves back at the school. But those who carry on will find a staircase to another world, the one in which graduates who choose to stay can go to - a veritable paradise that's easily shaped by those within it. There's no hardship here, no need for money or tallies or conflict when one can have everything they desire and visit anywhere from Tokyo Disney to other worlds on a whim before finding themselves back in the Yogen town promised to exist outside.
And of course, those who remain behind may stay as long as they wish before making their decision, because once they've made it they cannot return to this place. But so long as there are souls in need of healing, Yogen will always exist.

Setting Changes - World
✽
The world itself seems to grow and expand. Those who have awakened might dream of a school or a mansion, an empty ocean or a river that runs down to a village. The more they envision it and work toward it, the more reality will bend to their will. The school sees a second expansion that doubles the number of students available. It's slow and steady, but as their little world grows, so too will the number of souls who can awaken from their sleep after their souls heal.
✽
The forest is now empty. Humans will always far and dream of monsters, so with time it may become a place of nightmares once more, but care and love can prevent that as well. For the moment, though, it's a peaceful place that can be traveled through with the mundane animals that one would expect to see on Earth (and possibly other worlds.)
✽
There is a garden of wisteria trees. Thanks to the effort of the student council members, several wisteria trees have been played. As a result, for this for the many souls that fall or are in need of rest and healing, time and care will see to it that they are able to find peace. Those who pass and reawaken without memories will find that over time they gradually return to them.
✽
The soil is no longer poisoned. Both the courtyard and the fields have fertile soil that encourage the growth of all plants. In addition to the spider lilies, beautiful flora and bushes will slowly begin to grow and create a scene that shows the reminders of life, death, and the rebirth of all things.
Setting Changes - Yogen High
✽
As the school has changed, so too have some of the oddities begun to disappear. Much of this is through student efforts to piece things together and change them, but others simply seem to be a natural consequence of those actions. It's as though the school itself were following student's lead, or perhaps as their influence has grown so too has their ability to manipulate it?
✽
There is no longer a contract for student council presidents. Instead, Miyuki Shirogane has determined to create a group to allow for students to create a more fair system that allows students to make their needs known and create a school in which growth can come.
✽
Sometime during a day in August, the power will flicker. It will be off for a couple minutes in the school, then the doors a short time later. This is harmless, somebody (read: Ranger) was just apparently playing with the generator.
✽
The electric fences around the sports courts are no longer electric. The energizer and corresponding cords have been removed completely.
✽
The pool water no longer tastes or smell of saltwater. It's been filtering since the disappearance of the pool monster, and the last of the seawater seems to have cleared. It now has normal pool water.
✽
Class 3-B no longer has a spider problem. It now just has a normal amount of dust and cobwebs.
✽
The crawlspaces are now empty. The void worm has been remove as part of the renovations. It may or may not be somewhere else.
✽
The library has been renovated. The new librarian, Komaeda, has been hard at work! It now has book nooks, along with other little accessories, and a wider selection of both fiction and non-fiction books. The biting books and shrine are gone, but there may or may not be signs telling people to be quiet.
✽
Students can now obtain limited amounts of red and pink paint. It will still need to be ordered and paid for. Teachers and students both still tend to seem uncomfortable with it, but it's not quite as taboo as when the school itself was constantly being painted red.
✽
The clock tower is now accessible at all times. The oddities present before seems to have cleared out, and it seems to be a normal clock tower now.
✽
The dorms can now be freely rearranged. Following the Star 4 mystery being solved, the presence that was keeping the items within the rooms seems to have disappeared... Perhaps it was attached to those objects, or perhaps the people who had once owned them?
Character Status
✽
The counselor has graduated has graduated. The original three founders have left the school in the care of their students. Those who see him before he leaves, either by visiting him in his office or before he leaves, might notice him admiring a precious moonstone.
✽
Chiaki (NPC) has graduated. As with Rokkun and the necklace trio, she has left the school. Her final interactions were with Amami, and she seems fairly convinced that she would be able to return home to her family. She's grateful tot hose who spent time for her, but the Counselor can drop dead for all she cares.
✽
Rei (NPC) has been repaired, and Nao has begun to recover. Through the efforts of Shin, the damage done to Rei's system was able to be repaired and her soul drawn back into her body. In the process, it was discovered that she is a piece of Nao's soul; she held all of Nao's positive emotions. In order to complete both it would be necessary to merge the two, or so one would think. But just as the body can repair itself, souls too can grow and heal, and the pair meeting and being able to acknowledge who they are and what had happened to them is the first step on the path to recovery.
✽
Keigo Arata (Former NPC) remains in the school They will remain here for as long as they feel they need be.
✽
The cats remain behind. They will continue to watch over the world and those within it - the white cat who mends and heals, and the black cat who protects those troubled souls. For those in their presence and who have given them such love and care, they will ensure no harm comes to them.
✽
Bonnie (PC) has graduated. She resides in paradise now.
✽
Miyuki Shirogane remains to retool the student council. The counselor has given him full rights to work with other members of the council, as well as faculty members, to reform it.
✽
Rantarou Amami and Helena Adams remain behind. God watches over the latter and wishes to hear of their successes and failures; the former was entrusted with the task of planting a wisteria garden by Kazuki.
✽
Nagito Komaeda, Rio Ranger, and Sou Hiyori remain behind as staff members. They will continue to try and improve the school in their own ways and presumably attempt to bring hope to it in their own special ways.

First of all, thank you all so much for playing. These final months have been a dream come true for me, as is this game, and I feel so fortunate to have played with such a wonderful and proactive group of people. Thank you all for letting me share my vision. If you enjoyed yourself even a little, then I've done my job. ♡
✽
If there are any discrepancies in NPC history or character fates, these are on me completely. I thank Ori for letting me borrow the game they created as long as the characters they put together in it, but I hope I was able to give satisfying ends.
✽
Please stay tuned for a few final character inbox threads.
✽
If you would be kind enough to let me know your character's status and their plans below, I would be truly grateful. I've listed the ones I knew above, but I would be glad to add and amend them.

It is not, she was not CRAUed onto a boat.Miyuki Shirogane chooses to stay at Yogen to, as stated, help reform the Student Council and create a group to assist in the growth of the student body. He's firmly of the opinion that the Miyuki that died and the Miyuki that may still have at Shuchiin Academy are two different people at this point, and he's decided against graduation. For the moment, he's focused on ensuring that nobody goes through what they did again, even if it takes him an eternity.
Once things have settled down he'll probably be the same as he always was for the most part, acting the part of tsukkomi if he has to and idly trying to avoid doing anything that makes him look inept. Other than that, he's going to be hard at work at making Yogen peaceful, and somewhere you can grow at your own pace.
Also. Selfishly. Miyuki's going to be there to stay by Inaba's side until she's ready to move on herself, whether that be through reincarnation or by ending up in paradise. Also biding his time before he can tell her that he loves her, as opposed to 'liking' her.
Enjoy your sleep-deprived "genius", Yogen. He's not going anywhere for a while.

Sidney Wolfe stays for as long as he has his loves by his side. Though he doesn't quite wake up again for a while, he's always been a caretaker- and so he will remain such as he's here. When it's time, he'll stay with Lucifer until they can reunite with Clamor- and nothing will separate them again.

until then he is taking care of the gardening club. it's his club now, sorry to everyone who just wanted to have a nice relaxing time gardening they have to deal with Add now until they graduate. the worst tbh.
Addson aka Chaos Triangle aka the void worm lives on under Add's bed, probably, he'll get it leash trained yw for getting it out of the crawlspaces.
Dynamo is also staying with Add ofc they cannot leave him that would be crazy.
Clamor will graduate alongside Noah... but he probably worked out some sort of demon-contract thing with Lucifer so they can maybe reunite that way. He's gotta wrap up some canon loose ends first, but he is gonna make sure the polycule lives on and that he can get his body back again. Sidney is included in this plan these gays gotta GET SOME

He will stay at Yogen until the time when he feels his education is complete (and satisfied that the school will continue on this safe and peaceful track). It might be at the end of the school year, or he might stay longer and try to live a full life in Yogen. He might try growing facial hair at some point and it'll be weird. But eventually, he'll step into the light and say goodbye to Kiyotaka Ishimaru while passing on to a new life. He wants to hope that it's a brighter one.

She's going to write - both poetry and fiction, coming up with ways to express everything that she feels and was trying so hard to restrain as well as keeping promises to friends that she would. No more trying to hide her books in the snow - she'll embrace the attempts, even if they aren't what she expected. One day, a handbound book of verse will appear in the library, by H. Adams.
Helena will also take point on making a second shrine closer to the school for Jizo to be able to come and interact with people more easily than being limited to the mountain. Not everyone can make that regular trek, and if they ever feel like it, they can come and be with the souls, instead of having to be alone.
She's here for now, where she's needed.

The pieces of themselves that students leave should be preserved for those who come while they're there and to give hope and inspiration to those who come after they leave.
On a more personal note, I'm so proud of her.

Although there's a part of him that wants to know whether reuniting with Reko will be possible someday, particularly since his time in Yogen has had him thinking about it more often, he knows there's no certainty as to where or when that has any chance of happening. He'll be interested in making sure that the school's musical instruments stay in good condition, though, and there's plenty that is here right now to focus on.
Maybe despair disease also taught him to finally acknowledge that the official replacement school nurse is capable of doing a good job.....
