05/10 Charity Auction

On Monday morning, each glass case in the auditorium has been fitted with a small scanner similar to the one on the vending machines, at which one's PDA can be pressed against to bid a chosen number of merit points. Bidding is open all day, discouraged during class time and so the bidding rush happens at lunch and after school until closing at 5:45 when students are set to start leaving for home. Bids are anonymous while in process— or, as anonymous as can be while staring daggers over your friend's shoulder daring them to outbid you— but the winning bids and bidders are posted at the front of the auditorium at the end of the day.

Overall, the auction raised over ћ854,000 for the Save A Brain Foundation. Good job! You rock. Winners may pick up with items at any time during the week, after which anything leftover will be donated and the auditorium will be cleaned out by Saturday evening.

Body-chan

Rights to the body belong to Kokichi. The case as a whole cannot physically be moved away from the wall or out of the auditorium, and the lid will not open unless he taps his PDA, screen unlocked via fingerprint, against the sensor. He does not have to open it today, or even after time is up at the end of the week and the body and case will be removed if yet unclaimed— as long as the body has been in the case, it has never changed from appearing to be at the brink of death.

[ Izumi vc: Do you guys know how to catch a cat or not?!

Safer is debatable, but at least when the cat scratches and bites and bleeds whatever flesh it can catch, the blood is contained with Hinata caging it from all sides with his own body, holding the cat firmly enough that it can't squeeze out and get away. Can't go to hell school if no blood touch the floor!! ]

[ Hello??? He's way more distressed about Hinata getting hurt than concerned with not coming close, but well. ]

[ He confirms it anyway, even if it's a lie and he has no intent to listen. Whatever will make Hinata not worry while he approaches quickly with no regard, turning the box in his arms (and almost dropping it in the process) so the opening will be facing both him and the cat in his hold. With shaky hands, he guides it as close as he can, angling it so that the other can hopefully just let go, and the cat should fall in.

Will believing in cardboard and how fast a pair of twinks can even close this back up lead to hope or despair? Only Ori knows. ]

[ The cat falls in with a little disgruntled hiccup, and then immediately tries to get out, bumping the top of the cover with its head and trying to sneak a clawed paw or two through the gap to push the cover off and squeeze itself out of the box. The cat may be contained, but only for as long as somebody keeps a hold on the box that growls and bumps continuously, threatening to escape at any sign of weakness.

Are they going to tape the box up? hold onto it forever? as it is, the moment this cat gets free, it's probably going to leap out and take out somebody's eye. ]

[obsessiveness]

[ just going to start backing away slowly while gripping the toy bc who knows, maybe the cat might come for him and his porcelain skin next ]

Please tell me you guys have tape. If not, hold on--

[ just continue wrangling with the cat, guys, izumi's gonna place the horse toy down on the ground as a deterrent and make a quick dash towards the sewing room for a bit ]

[Hinata's been too busy hissing swears under his breath for this whole escapade of holding the cat, so he only has the wherewithal to shake his head "no".

As Izumi's leaving, he notes how the cat is struggling as if trying to break free, so he just kind of. Slumps forward to wrap his arms tight around the box where Saihara isn't holding, letting his forehead drop into the other boy's shoulder. If anybody else sees... Well, he's too tired to care, it's fine, whatever.]

Crap, that really hurts- [Hinata's wincing as the box is thrust right into one of his scratches. Thanks, he hates it!] Still... I know it'll be bad if the cat gets out, but is taping the box a good idea...?

[He tries to use the part of his brain not absorbed by ~Pain~ but critical thought is probably a no go right now. did he ever use critical thinking this whole time It's the best they've got, so... Hurry back soon, Sena.]

[ Hinata...!? Hinata that's gay, but what's even gayer is that... were this anyone else, Saihara might get so flustered he'd jump from surprise, drop the box and then scramble away in a panic. But there's that memory at the back of his head, real or not, that makes this comforting instead -- it's familiar... it feels like home. His shoulders still stiffen in place, but it's only for a moment; he doesn't have a free hand to use for comfort right now though, so the most he can manage is tilting his head, to rest it lightly against Hinata's.

Just for a second okay? It's fine -- until the cat starts to struggle again and reminds him. ]

Ah... sorry!

[ He hurries to readjust the box between them again, making sure to put the side with the breathing holes as far away from their arms and their clothes as he can. Incidentally, it also faces the bathroom door and the rest of the hallway, so I guess kitty can see. With the way things are... ]

I suppose... it normally isn't the best, but we might not have a better choice right now. I don't know what happened to make it this agitated. Cats don't... usually do this, right?

[ It's Hinata, so he can share what he's thinking without fear or reluctance. It's just, he finds the situation a little strange, that's all. Normally, a cat's first impulse would be to just run than to do... all of this. Wouldn't it? ]

[ it doesn't take izumi long to find what he's looking for, since he's memorized where things are placed inside this room at this point, so he's just going to take a long ass piece of twine and runs on back to the scene of the catherding.

oh jeez, seriously? right in front of izumi's metaphorical salad? this isn't the right time for a budding bromance, people!! izumi can't help but scowl a little at this scene once he arrives, moving past the horse toy that's doing a magnificent job at keeping the cat at bay probably??? ]

What are you guys doing...? [ he's talking bout the skinship thing, not the way they're handling the cat....... anyway. he's going to come closer now ] Now hold it down for a second longer, and let me just...

[ tie down the box rather elaborately, like so. man, who knew that izumi's thing for restraining his loved ones can come in handy in times like this. surely the cat can be contained safely like this, right? ]

[ The box shakes and bumps in their hands, struggling against the walls of the box even after Izumi has it securely tied so there's no risk of the lid sliding off. By then, the cat's quieted down somewhat, seething, most likely, but also not having the stamina to raise hell for too long at a time, and the box is then easier to hold with the cat suddenly lying down and letting all its weight shift to one corner instead of stomping around in there like it had been doing.



There's some scratching sounds from inside, and through one of the breathing holes they can see the cat trying to gnaw the hole a little bigger but it can't quite get its teeth through the tear it open. Just wait... Eventually, the cardboard will get soggy enough to give way to freedom. ]

Ow ow ow...

[That's. Really all Hinata has to say as he unfolds himself, give him one second. Jesus Christ this cat really did a number on... his everything, it feels like. He'll give Saihara's shoulder one reassuring pat, both for his words and his worries, before he lets go completely, fortunately still holding onto his knees so he's not straightened out completely and getting blood everywhere.]

Don't know what else we were supposed to do while Cat was literally trying to tear us apart... [He waves his hand, dismissing it. Not to mention the fact that Izumi is talking about them and not the cat goes right over his head.] Still. That's a weird way of wrapping, but I'm not gonna complain if it works. Thanks for the save, Sena.

[Even if he feels like a mess, Hinata still manages to shoot him a lopsided smile. It slips away when he tries to move, wincing.]

...What do we even do now, though? I... [He glances down. Perceives the cat gnawing on the box. Closes his eyes.] ...don't think we can leave them like this forever.

...I'll watch it for a while, to see if it calms down. If it doesn't... we might have no choice but to leave it in a classroom for a while.

[ Thanks for the practical matter he can focus on, because he's certainly not as oblivious as Hinata as to what Izumi might have been talking about. His gaze drifts awkwardly for a second, in that thing he does where embarrassed where he can't exactly look at somebody else's face right then, so he focuses on the box as he takes it from the other two. The cat... still seems agitated. It just doesn't make sense for it to have gotten this bad, so it bothers Saihara. Life is hard when you need logic to apply to everything. ]

But... Hinata-kun, you got scratched, didn't you?

[ Worry returns to his face as he remembers, and he finally manages to shoot the other a glance of concern. Even though Hinata's crouched and trying not to show it, he can still tell. ]

[ He knows this was for him; because he bolted so quickly after he saw that message on the network... but he can handle it from here. As if to say that in clear terms, he turns to Izumi instead, the box with the captive cat cradled carefully under his arm (even if it maybe shakes like once or twice), and no longer the other two's problem. ]

Sena-kun? I'll... ah, owe you a favor later, so... do you think you could help? I mean, with the scratches.
