THERE AINT NO PARTY LIKE A BLANKET FORT SLUMBER PARTY
Who: OPEN to anyone and everyone!
When: May 22nd (Saturday) after 6pm and the following morning
Where: Class 3-D
What: it's time to heal from all the chaos and murder with a blanket fort slumber party, hell yeah hell yeah
Sometime after school has fully closed for the day and everyone else has gone home, a sign is put up on the door to 3-D. In rounded letters and surrounded by drawings of flowers and a couple cartoon cats, it reads:
BLANKET FORT CONSTRUCTION ZONE
slumber party @ 8pm
all are welcome!
(rule breakers will be sent to JAIL)
... if you show up early, everything might still be in the process of being set up, but by 8pm most of the desks and chairs in the room have either been pushed to the sides or stacked strategically in the middle to form mighty fortress walls. These are, of course, topped with blankets for cover, because it wouldn't be a blanket fort without blankets. Blankets are a limited resource at the school, so it's recommended to bring your own if you don't want to share a fort with someone else. Or maybe just steal a big scrap of fabric from the art room. Close enough, right?
Aside from the obvious arrangements at the centre, there is an un-blanketed pair of desks set aside for snacks. Nene made cookies, and Clamor has put out a bowl of healthy nuts and fruit (as if anyone would actually take those over the cookies). For drinks, there are a few bottles of juice and one pot of (thoroughly filtered) tea and a few cups to use. A small folded sign at the table politely reads "Don't be greedy."
If you are greedy, or if you harass anyone else just trying to have a good time, you risk being sent to...gay baby jail™. It is, as always, a cardboard box situated in the farthest corner of the room, and guarded diligently by only the most fearsome of dads and buff teenagers. You have been warned.
There is also a second cardboard jail cell on the opposite corner of the room, which is not labelled (yet). The inside is absolutely covered in scratch marks, since it's the same box that was used to catch the cat earlier in the month... but now it's jail 2: jail harder. It is reserved for criminals who cannot be allowed to collaborate during jail time, and you know who you are, please just behave yourselves.
This is meant to be a slumber party, so eventually, an amount of slumber will be expected. Luckily it's the weekend, so everyone is welcome to sleep in for as long as they want... just don't sleep in too late, unless you want to get stuck helping with clean up.
((OOC: It's another mingle!!! Feel free to make your own toplevels and comment around, start some party games, bring some extra snacks, hijack Nene's nerf gun to lay siege to your neighbour's fort... w/e!
This is meant to be something of a break from the usual death and despair of murderschool, so please don't do any actual murders in this log that is literally the lowest bar i can ask of y'all. Put warnings in your threads as needed! General chaos is fine, but characters that cause too much of a disturbance will be manhandled and sent togay baby jail™. You have been warned... twice!!
ICly the fort construction and party is being arranged by Clamor, Noah, Sidney and Nene, but basically anyone who wants to pop in and help out is welcome to, and CR may have been asked to join/help out in advance. If you need an excuse for your character to come, someone else could've dragged them there to chill—just ask!
anyway that's all pls have fun, go nuts))

Studying is something you don't do at a slumber party. Actually, my friends used to have slumber parties to celebrate being done with studying.
no subject
In that case... in the intended spirit of slumber parties, I suppose that I can put studying aside for the moment. In favor of... ah... other slumber party activities! [Whatever those are.]

[ Kaede pauses. ]
We can't really do either of those things here, though. [ Give her a second to think about it. Hmm... ] Oh, let's talk about our favorite pieces by Chopin!
[ Nailed it. ]
no subject
...Ah... well, I am sorry to admit that I have not yet looked into Chopin beyond that one piece that you played for me. S-so I would only really have one answer for this question!
no subject
[ It's as easy as that! ]
I bet you would like Nocturne a lot. It's like walking down a quiet street at night, passing by a few cafes with people still inside, enjoying their coffee.
no subject
[A thoughtful pause.]
Hmmm... I suppose that if the street was quiet and not full of nocturnal scoundrels, then it does feel somewhat like a calming image. Still, I would not walk around like that on a school night. I also happen to favor tea over coffee!
no subject
Then imagine you're walking around at night on a weekend! You don't have anything to worry about then! And you can totally order tea at cafes!
[ ...She thinks. ]
no subject
Ishimaru nods along thoughtfully.]
I see, I see! Your imagery specified coffee, so I was focusing on that. I suppose that it would be better on a weekend, while taking a break from weekend studies. That actually sounds quite nice! And there are no ruffians nearby, correct?
no subject
[ She might need to be, in order to cater to Ishimaru's tastes. Then again, he does want to know if there are any "ruffians".
What an interesting guy. ]
No way! The song wouldn't be as peaceful if there were.
no subject
Please, feel free ti be precise as you wish with your explanations! I am relieved that the scene will be peaceful, though. I can almost feel the comforting energy already!
It is a shame that pianos are not portable. It would make for splendid background music for this gathering!
no subject
[ And she has a feeling that Ishimaru still wouldn't find it precise enough. ]
You know, I was thinking the same thing! It would be really nice to play a few songs for everyone here to help them relax.
no subject
That would be quite pleasant. Perhaps a future gathering could be held at the music room, in order to make that a reality!
[Play them out, Keyboard Kaede!]
no subject
[ Playing music while everyone relaxes... Kaede can't think of a better thing to do. ]
Well... Later. We should enjoy this slumber party while we can.
no subject
[At time like this, life in the school doesn't feel so bad.]
no subject
[ She smiles brightly. ]
I'll be keeping an eye on you! You better not study unless it's with someone!
no subject
[If that's how socializing and fun works, then so be it!]
