mise picked for me

This post serves as a place for me to gather all of Amami's closed threads, starters, and miscellany through the month. If you want to set something up, I can be reached by PM or at

I did feel an Ultimate up this way... it's pretty lucky that I ran into you!
( or did he come here because of the aura that wafts from amami, either way, it doesn't take time for him to speak about what's on his mind. it's an attempt to make conversation, especially when only so few listened to him. he didn't see that much of amami, or rather, komaeda wasn't looking for him, but while he does have him in his sight. )
Did you witness it yesterday? The way Ishimaru-kun's hope took root...
no subject
( kinda wishes he hadn't, that nobody else had to either, and that this freak could read the room, but that's all an aside, really. he didn't do anything at the time — and, frankly, no matter how komaeda processes such things, the fact of the matter is that he wasn't the one responsible for making them happen. amami, for his part, would rather keep his eyes on the prize so to speak; there's no point in fighting amongst themselves while the person (people?) behind this are able to continue orchestrating it.
not so different, really, from the way he would prefer to get to the point of this interaction. his expression remains neutral, but his words still come out sounding a bit short. )
Did you need something?
no subject
( he laughs, his prosthetic hand lifting as he stares into the center, and there are no lifelines for him to stare lovingly at. instead, he looks at how the black and white of his attachment are split on different sides, and that gives him a sense of happiness. hope is shining, hope is what came from ishimaru, and he's delighted. he looks at the other, now, his arm dropping down by his side, and he smiles softly right after. he appears normal for now, and his voice light as he speaks up. )
Are you going to visit Ishimaru-kun? I wondered if Ultimates would flock to other Ultimates when their hope is beaming... but here you are.
( ishimaru's practically illuminating, is he really going to miss out on that? )
no subject
so he's just going to blink and watch komaeda stare at his hand like a freak, as if it has some kind of answers about hope that it's whispering in his ear or something. okaaaaaaay. )
I was thinking about it.
( he was, truthfully. at the same time, with the response of the other transfer students, it seems like he's hardly going to be the only one to consider it. )
It looks like he might be getting a lot of attention, so I thought I'd give it a bit before I check in on him.
( you know, for processing. the shock of an experience like that... might take a day or so, or even longer, to really deal with. )
no subject
( he sighs, dropping his one hand down by his side as the other remains pressed against his body. it still pains him, stinging in the center of his forearm from his reckless behavior. he welcomes it though, that sort of pain only means good things are along the way. it's the same for ishimaru, the amount of pain he went though, and to bring upon an outcome not too many people expected, komaeda sighs softly — he agrees, he didn't seem like the type to get in that sort of scuffle, but that'll bring upon unimaginable, and tremendous hope. everyone should have it now from seeing that if he can do it, any ultimate can! )
It'd even be good for him. To have that many people around him, that's why Ultimates are friends, aren't they?
( he probably shouldn't speak what he doesn't know, but being together isn't bad, you know? )
no subject
( damn. gotta say, komaeda, for a guy who can't even remember the name of his own talent? being told the only reason he should visit is that he's supposed to have one kinda stings. this ain't about him though, and he recognizes that; even so, when it comes to ishimaru, that's hardly a convincing case. )
Like I said, I was planning on it — but if I go see him, it will be as a friend, not an Ultimate, just so you know. And it's not like it's a celebration, either.
( it's just... yeah. he recognizes that at a time like this, it'll probably do him some good to have some support, y'know? )
no subject
Ahaha! You're all Ultimates, and share a special bond akin to friendship between one another... you shouldn't miss that chance!
( the gathering of those who feel the need to go and see him, and he sounds pretty excited when he says that too. that's why he's doing what he to make sure amami visits, because he doesn't want to be late in seeing him does he? )
The sooner you appear, the better that he knows that someone was concerned for his safety... it must be nice.
no subject
( because, not gonna lie, it's a little bit weird that he's so fixated on amami specifically going... it seems like the guy has closer people than him around here, to be frank. (a good thing, mind you.)
in any case, he guesses it has been a day. he'd opted to let those closer to the other approach him at first, figured it might be a bit much to be bombarded after an event like what he'd been through, but now? it's probably slowed down, if only slightly, so suppose that it's as good an opportunity as ever. pushing himself up off the ground, amami will shove the wrapper for his anpan in his pocket because he's a good boy who doesn't litter in the clocktower, and start making his way over to where komaeda is by the entrance. he still seems expectant of an answer to his question, though. )
no subject
It's best if I stay behind... I don't want to be a nuisance to you all.
( he keeps a cheerful disposition as he watches amami finally stand to his feet, and then proceed to walk from where he was. so he's finally making the move to go check on ishimaru? it makes komaeda smile, for what reason exactly...? well, it's hard to tell when he's torn between the excitement he's gained from the battle royale, the hope that's prospered from it, and not only that... )
Hm... Amami-kun, do you mind doing a favor for me?
no subject
I'm sure he doesn't see you as "worthless;" Ishimaru-kun seems like the type to care about his classmates.
( the whole student body, really, is the impression he got — even if there's some freaks mixed in there. )
Depends on the favour.
no subject
( he shouldn't be near others, nor should anyone be near him, but he knows that ultimates would never be deterred by his unfortunate luck. that's what makes them what they are, being able to overcome anything in their path, and someone small as komaeda who is like a pebble in their eyes that can be kicked to the side. if he can do anything, it would be to elevate them to a higher position, and if it's to remind them of their good work when no one else will — then he wouldn't miss the chance. it's all about their hope, after all. )
Hmmmhmm.... ( slowly, he begins to pull a book out from his pocket, and while it's one he stole from the library, he doesn't think too much of it. it's just that he wanted to try something. ) Will you give this to him for me?
no subject
Whether it's a waste or not isn't up to you.
( ...and with that, he'll knock the binding lightly against komaeda's forehead, a little bit scolding — it's not harsh, but more akin to getting flicked in the forehead or something. )
But I'll pass it on for you. Maybe he'll tell you himself next time you see each other.
( there's a faint smile. he's sure it'd mean more that way anyway. )
no subject
Thank you, I'm sure Ishimaru-kun will be thrilled to see you.
( he won't make it about himself, but rather, focus on amami's company in terms of ishimaru's happiness. it took a bit of encouraging to have the other agree to go earlier than he was, but that's hope working out for them so he feels proud. turning towards the entrance of the stairway, he walks forward while kicking a few pebbles along the way as he waits for him. )
Coming together will benefit you all, only Symbols such as yourself can shine a path that's bright enough for others to follow.
no subject
( it's the least he can do — he may not be close to the guy, but he's not heartless either, and it's surely better than nothing. dropping the hand with the book back down to his side, amami will follow along as komaeda begins to head towards the stairs, the pattering of the pebble negligible as he thinks things over. in fact, with a few in front of his own feet, he habitually kicks one a little bit ahead himself. )
They should really clean this place up a bit, honestly.
( damn... do the janitor not even come up here? why you got rocks? )
no subject
( he's thoughtful about it, taking his own words into consideration as he tries to figure out what type of person would be against it. probably someone who doesn't want to see what hope as in store for them, but a life like that sounds so sad, that he doesn't know if he could live it. he's not paying attention as rocks roll across the floor from amami's light kicks, and komaeda steps on one accidentally that was in motion. caught between the earth and his foot, he glances in amami's direction, and then down towards his footing. )
I agree...
( he watches as a few small pieces of rubble roll towards the entrance, and some falling over a step — out of sight, and out of mind with one or two hanging around the edge of the step still visible. )
...students frequent this area, and if you're not careful, you could get seriously hurt... but that's probably what they want.
proceed with caution
( he says, as if he's not interrogating anyone he can and painting a target on his back amongst transfer students, if no one else. not to mention the "here," but, you know, it's amami; the fact of the matter is that he's not going to stand by and do nothing. and besides, he's a little luckier here — in a place where talents don't matter, neither does remembering them. the opportunity to actually connect and work together with the people around him... he's hardly going to pass that up, now is he? )
But I'll keep an eye out, thanks.
( better safe than sorry, right? though he notes it just as he steps onto the beginning of the stairs... )
you know the vibes
( he says that with a smile, excited to encourage amami despite the other confident enough to know nothing wrong will happen. he's better than that after all, another beacon of hope for everyone to confide in, and as komaeda watches him take his first step down the steps, he waits for him to take another. once he notices amami on the move, komaeda proceeds forward himself to follow. as he steps on his left, he can feel the pressure of something press against his foot, so he lifts up to spot the small rock from before. he recalls amami's earlier actions, kicking rocks playfully to pass time, and komaeda wants to do it too. it's childish, but he swings one leg up, and then brings it back so that he can kick it — but he misses. only thing he's given is the sound of his shoe brushing against the ground, and with a shrug of his shoulder, he decides to leave it there to walk forward. his foot comes back down, starting with that foot first, but the pebble rolls under his shoe as he walks, causing him to trip forward — )
A — Aaaah!
( unable to catch himself, his descent towards the ground is imminent, and god was not watching after this twink as komaeda is carried forward, and smacks loudly onto the ground. as a twink, it shouldn't cause that much ruckus, but what does come him is a loud yelp, and a groan in pain as the impact courses through his bad arm. in pain, he lifts his face up that's covered in dirt, and with the way he's stretched out is that if amami looked back, he could see a mess of white hair by the doorway. komaeda rests his chin on the ground, adjusting himself to the pain, and his arm throbs uncomfortably — he's pretty lucky in regards to the stitches to breaking.
taking a deep breath, he exhales, but the two rocks that hung along the edge rolls down — you know the scene from jumanji when they roll down the steps, it's that energy. so they roll down onto the first one, bounce onto the second one, and the duo roll past amami's footing — making their way down. one hits against a rock amami previously kicked, and it reacts by knocking into one of the balusters. one must have been worn as it's pushed out of place, and leans forward knowing into another one, and then falling to the side onto the next step from the ultimate, rolling into the corner to be unseen right where amami could accidentally step on and trip if he's not paying attention.
with that there, the other baluster that had been hit against now demonstrates a domino effect onto another. as they fall out of place to knock against one another out of place, the handrail no longer has proper support which causes it to become even more flimsy than what it was before. )
no subject
... right? )
Are you alright?
( except, the baluster that falls out of place, he doesn't notice until it's too late. there's a soft thunk just ahead of him, and only manages to glance back ahead of him just as the sole of his shoe tries to steady itself against the cylindrical surface. naturally, it doesn't support him; as it begins to roll out from under him, amami knows he's slipping, reaches out with both hands to keep himself steady on the handrail and minimize the damage, but —
CRACK!
with no supports remaining attached, the railing snaps under his weight, a good foot or so of the flimsily attached wood coming off along with amami as he continues to crash down, eyes wide with a bit of a yelp. )
no subject
the stairs aren't in great shape either, especially once the the heavy weight of amami hits against the steps, and it's almost cliche how a crack appears under him. it slithers down the center of the steps, shifting one by one until it stops at the end, but the loud cracking is audible due to the wood coming apart. it's safe for now, the balusters finally coming to a stop as some of them fall down on the side, smacking against something once they hit the bottom. the vibrations however also help the pebbles that had stopped rolling, and causes one (1) to move once again until it rolls on the final step before the next flight right on the crack.
everything's silent, everything's still... that's until there's the sound of something cracking around amami's weight, and an abrupt shake of his body going down that sends him down a bit, and then another —
the step, and the one in front of him is caving in. )
no subject
he's no fool, he can tell what that sound means — can see what that shake is trying to tell him. even as the steps are beginning to crack under the weight, he's already turning, trying to pull himself up off his ass (where he's fallen, which is kind of sore from hitting the corner of a step, but not nearly as sore as he's gonna be if he doesn't get out of here,) and scramble back up the staircase. and you know what? for a moment or so he looks almost like he might be successful. the stairs behind him begin to crack and fall uneven, but he's able to outrace the structural weakness for a moment.
too bad a moment is all it is.
unfortunately, he's not able to make it to the upper landing where komaeda is lying before it catches up to him. he steps up, one foot in front of the other, left in front of right — and it's really only about two or three of those steps before his shoe punches right through the already compromised wood, cracks already having begun pulling it apart from the below the surface where he couldn't have seen. with that? it's all over. from the hole that's already been crashed through in the step, the cracks that were spreading begin to give way. before long, he's falling through an entire person-sized hole in the staircase. not all the way down, though. maybe it's luck? that he didn't let go of the railing in his hand, clutched tightly in his fist as he had turned to retreat up the stairs — now, as he falls fingers still curled tightly around it, he jolts to a stop as the length of it catches against the edges of the hole.
safe... for now. how long is now? amami isn't about to wait and find out. )
K-Komaeda-kun!?
( can he, like, get a hand here? scrambling to try and pull himself back up; it isn't as though he isn't athletic, but it's still a struggle to manage alone. )
no subject
a tired exhale, he reaches out with one arm, and it's practically shaking (while being nowhere close to grab him). his fingers twitch faintly as he attempts to help the other... )
Hope...
( but then komaeda just instantly loses consciousness, his hand and head connecting with the ground yet again. goodbye amami. )
no subject
and then he falls.
the wooden railing splits in half, following him down as he finally loses the last thing holding him up in the hole, and below? just more staircase, honestly, being a spiral and all. so when he lands, the sound is loud and ugly. his body hits against the corner of another step, and from there, the pain has him curling up to try and protect himself from further injury as he tumbles down to the next landing. well, that's what he tries to do. the reality of the matter is that after impact, it's a feeling more like he's blinked, and when his eyes open, he's already in a pile on that landing. his entire body aches, the sharpest of the pain piercing through his chest, and vision that feels hard to focus in on as he gauges the situation.
ow... )
