You open your eyes.

And you scream.

Four long gashes tear your sleeve to ribbons and arm to searing pain, something sharp clamps down on your ankle and sinks into flesh and bone, down the hall another student dangles half a foot off the ground with their hair slowly separating from their scalp, and littered across the floor are bodies pooling blood and occasionally twitching— not in a last bid for life, but in the way strips of skin and muscle and fabric pull away from a person's limbs when several dozen invisible hungry imps have decided they don't want to be banished and would rather feast on the blood of their enemies if that's what it takes to survive.

For every instance of blood that touches the floor, the school pitches and transforms into a dilapidated version of itself, what npcs that were in the hall with you turning into shadow versions of themselves and taking hold of the fallen bodies to drag them to the auditorium. There, the empty room is pitch black. There, the threshold at the doorway crumbles and expands with each shadow that stands and feeds the void another sacrifice. In this school, in its darkness and its silence and its faceless students that cannot be touched, you may at least find some reprieve from the imps that do not exist, find fresh water flowing from the bathroom sinks, and scenes of normal school life playing out in the cracked mirrors that if you break even further you find that you return.

You open your eyes, and no time has passed. Something invisible tears open a student's throat, so close you can see their vocal cords bright white and vibrating as they scream. Blood splatters on the ground, and the school pitches and turns once again.

For each fallen student, a new one transfers in to replace them. Between the student council election and the imp infestation, more and more you seem to be surrounded by unfamiliar faces. The contrast is stark between those veteran students with bandaged arms and a limp to their stride and long sleeves and pants despite the growing heat, and those students with bright and smiling faces, the ones who coo over the cats and share their lunches with anybody who looks hungry and sit in small groups outside by the wisteria tree to chat during breaks, ignorant of what keeps it fed.

With all the new transfer students, many teachers have decided to assign group projects for their classes: poster presentations on their favorite myth or legend, short skits portraying famous historical scenes, and, everybody say thank you Cain and Kelly, taking care of flour sack babies. Projects are by homeroom and can be done in groups of 2-4, because sometimes a family is a dad and a dad and a wine aunt and a dog. The projects are all due at the end of the month, and if you're able to keep your flour sack baby from being turned into a cake or torn apart by imps, you may notice that they start to feel... warm... after one week. At the end of the second week, they begin to make short, quiet noises— a gurgle, a breath, a whine. At the end of the third week, while you're cradling the sack in your arms, you swear it moves. At the end of the fourth week, well. The project is over. Maybe it'll hatch? Let me know if you make it.

The veteran students don't seem very keen on working with transfer students who make excuses about not wanting to work outside of school, but newer students are more willing, eager to meet people and get to know them and learn about the school. They gravitate towards the bulletin board to check out the class ranks, new clubs, a new section on the board with several dozen slips of colored paper tacked onto it and a little container below containing blank slips and a pen so you can add your own wishes:

Wishes are meant to be granted, but... Some of the newer students make an attempt at being a little more realistic and add things like "I want the answers to next week's math exam" and "I want a pony" and do check the board occasionally, so it never hurts to leave a wish of your own.

That's certainly the thought as the month goes on and there are more and more wishes for the construction in the clock tower stairwell to hurry up and finish already, as the entire month of June, from 6AM to 6PM, six days a week, the sounds of drilling and hammering and screaming and sawing can be heard in the stairwell despite no construction workers being seen entering or exiting the school. The clock tower itself is inaccessible while the stairs are being taken down and replaced with a brand new elevator— veteran students are particularly grateful, because it's hard to climb stairs and go to class when your shin is splintered and a thin layer of bandage is the only thing keeping your guts from spilling out onto the floor.

In the evening after the npcs leave, characters are able to open the doors on the second and fourth floors to find... that nothing looks any different. On the first floor, however, a set of elevator doors has been installed right by the front doors, and while the button to open the doors don't work, they can be wrenched apart and entered, revealing a barren space with metal walls, a clock hung on the back wall that ticks backwards, and too many buttons on the panel by the double doors. Most buttons are white, numbered -6 to 27 though out of order and not all the numbers are there. Some are black, one is red, neither colors having symbols etched into them. None of the buttons work when pressed.

Until then, the clock tower can be reached as normal up several flights of stairs, the room at the very top bright and sunny with clock faces in the glass on all four sides, floorboards stained copper red and the air thick and difficult to breathe. For some, it's still worth it for the view of the wisteria tree in perpetual bloom in the courtyard below, especially as the heat and humidity of summer approaches and with it comes clouds of gnats that have taken up residence in the courtyard, hovering over puddles of light pink water left over from watering the courtyard overnight. Classes are no longer held outdoors, as teachers find it impossible to speak without gnats entering their mouths at any given opportunity, and the heat inside the school becomes near unbearable towards the latter half of the month as there is no air conditioning and teachers hesitate to open their windows. The homeroom teachers in 1-B, 1-D, and 2-C made that mistake once, opening the windows facing the courtyard and the gnats had gotten in, little homing missiles to their favorite food: blood, sweat, and tears. But if you don't cry, sweat, or bleed and aren't afraid of the gnats squeezing their way through the mesh screen in the windows, it can be nice to sit by the window and hope a breeze comes your way.

Those in classes 3-A, 3-B, 2-C, 2-D, 2-E, and all of the first year classes can find that they're able to open the windows in classrooms 1-B, 1-D, and 2-C to enjoy the breeze, but find an invisible barrier blocking their way and preventing any part of them from reaching out into the open space. 3-A, 2-C, 2-D, 2-E, 1-B, 1-D, and 1-E are able to remove the screen and exit through those windows facing the courtyard, keeping in mind it is the 3rd and 4th floors and they will have to climb back up to reenter the school. 2-C, 1-B, and 1-D can go a step further and find that the front door to the school opens for them, except when they try to leave, they run into an invisible barrier, unable to take another step out the door. But they can stand there and take in the sight of the school gates in the near distance, of the forest just beyond, of the npc students slipping past them on their way to and from home. At this threshold it is chilly despite the heat that smothers the school in waves, the air is fresh, invigorating, and when the sun passes overhead you swear you can feel it staring.

✽ Sometimes you summon murder imps and you gotta get rid of them yourselves. The imps are invisible unless supernatural sight (eg Nene, Clamor) or form (eg Moriarty, Sherlock) is regained, or are seen through an adder stone (possessed by Arthur, Gundham), but can still be fought either way through physical or magical means, or banished with the proper materials. They will NOT be rampaging and attacking everybody all the time, so this prompt is avoidable if you'd rather not, but they will gravitate towards 1) students who are alone, and 2) areas where there is already bloodshed happening.
✽ For the flour sack group project, groups are by homeroom and can number between 2-4 students. You may also assume npc students are part of your group if you wish.
✽ Characters may notice that physically, an elevator can't make sense without demolishing the first floor locker area, and they will have to accept the fact that not everything will make sense, and that sometimes, Ori just does not want to redraw floorplans. The elevator will be functional starting next month, maybe.
✽ Only windows in classrooms 1-B, 1-D, and 2-C can be opened by characters in classes that have gained at least one class rank to date. Those classes that gained at least one class rank last month are able to exit out the windows facing the courtyard only. Those classes with 30 or more ranks are able to open the front door to the school but not exit through it. To anybody else watching them open the door, they will see that character turn into a shadow and go through the motions of opening the door without exiting, exactly how npc students appear when they enter and exit the school.

-this will somehow make the voidtorium worse e.g. make the auditorium fall apart more
-if touching the floor is at all viable in there or if that's instadeath
-if there even is a floor to begin with and, if there is a lack of a floor, would flying down into the void lead anywhere (just in general)

[like most things, it started with her complete lack of impulse control.

at first, she was just leaning her face against the screen of the window she had opened in 2-C, wilting in the heat, a lemon (???) seated next to her head. but, she noticed that her arms... went out a bit further than she thought they could. the screen wasn't providing much protection from the gnats in the first place, so it wasn't a difficult decision to remove it. she found herself reaching her arm out a little further every time, leaning out more and more until...

she's hugging the wall of the building, arms firmly gripping the windowsill, when she remembers that she is actually definitely scared of heights and this is very much too high.] ... Not a great idea.

[... which is why, when she invariably climbs out the window again, she quickly descends to the second and first floor. like that makes it any safer.

for someone that does not like heights, Steph is actually pretty great at climbing. she's got the upper arm strength for it, certainly, and though her limbs aren't very long, her feet are small enough to find holds wherever she is.

before school, during lunch, and after school until about 7:30, you may find yourself looking out the windows on the first and second floor, expecting to see just the courtyard, only to see a flash of pink and tiny fingers on the sill.]

☽ The Void

[Noah isn't entirely sure what the hell attacked him earlier, just that it did happen, and he's pretty sure whatever got him is dead because of the shadows that erupted forth from him in retaliation... but those shadows did not stop his cuts from bleeding and now he's here, in the void...

...and frankly he's fine with it, because at least here, time stops. At least here, there's a level of reprieve gained from the madness of the world around him. He's alone with his thoughts again, but the silence isn't deafening as it is in the library, and that's all that matters. He'll punch a mirror and get out when he's good and ready.

At the very least, the cuts are superficial, nothing he hasn't had before. Will they scar like every other wound that's ever been inflicted upon him, he wonders? Will the tiny clawmarks be lost to time? Who can say. He's staring at a slash on his arm and then he stops to stare at another on his leg that had managed to cut through his pantleg, and he sighs. The bleeding on the cuts has stopped by now, but the wounds are still red and raw and painful.

The shadows in the void aren't coming after him, at least, and he knows better than to fuck with them... but still, Noah gives them a wide berth. He knows what happens if he touches them, after all.

If you happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time and got sucked into the void when his blood splattered against the floor, sorry. If he sees you, he'll wave with a slightly glazed-over look in his eyes, a look that says he doesn't want to be here — not just here as in the void but here as in existing in this moment, in this space. It's quiet, quieter than he usually is, when he says,]

At least we get some peace in here.

On the alternative, if you're near death in here, he will Fight The Void and try to save your life from the shadow-people by, you know, killing them with his own shadows. Will Noah ever stop fighting the void? No, thanks for asking.]

☽ Exhaustion

[...and then Noah doesn't sleep for three straight days, and instead of making an effort to try and do so anymore, he's just giving up on it.

After all, his nightmares won't go away, so there's no point. He won't sleep either way. If you share a homeroom or club with him, you might have noticed him nearly falling asleep in them only to jump awake and continue pretending he's working. At least he's eating this month? Somewhat? There are multiple moments when he goes to get a snack at the vending machine and quite nearly trips into it out of fatigue, or moments when he trips up the stairs despite usually not being so clumsy.

At some point during the week, you stumble upon a collapsed lump in the hallway, facedown on the floor. Is it a corpse? Might as well be. Noah's back to his old habits of walking himself to the point of collapse just to try and avoid nightmares, because that's the only way he can sleep, is if he stays awake for seventy-two consecutive hours and then collapses midday in the middle of the school hallway. He looks peaceful like this, but you might want to check on him? Make sure he's still breathing... or don't. Maybe if enough people trample on him he'll wake up.]

[When he's not either in the void due to crimes that are Not His Fault or collapsed in the hallway, Noah can be found after-hours raiding the art room for supplies. The only way to keep his hands occupied is to draw, after all, but recently it looks like he's been playing with paints if the giant smudge of black on his cheek is anything to go by. And how'd he get a blue dot on the tip of his nose, anyway?

Noah isn't painting anything special, or that's what he'll tell you if you ask anyway. He's mostly trying to figure out how all of this works, and that means he has way too many brushes and a canvas that's way too big and that there's paint on the table and sheesh what a mess. But he's having fun, at least, for the first time in a long time! Isn't that all that matters in the end?

What's on the canvas is some sort of abstract piece, just shapes and colours and whatever Noah's vibing with at the time while he figures out How Paint Go On Canvas. Really, he's more playing around than actually trying to make something coherent. If you come in and pull up a chair, he'll paint with you, and he'll try his damndest to make conversation. Which really amounts to,]

⛧ The Imp Problem

[Remember when Lucifer said he was a demon but that he couldn't switch forms last month? Yeah, that's no longer a thing, and there is currently a very angry demon prowling the hallways with an actual honest-to-hells whip in his hands literally doling out punishments to whatever imps he sees that are fucking around and finding out.

Sure, last month, he was fine with them — cute little pranksters, just doing what demons do! Though he did make an effort to stop some of the more dangerous pranks, for the most part, harmless things like water bottles being knocked over and math homework being eaten got to slide. Lucifer is absolutely biased to his own kind, after all.

But then the little bastards started to hurt people for real, started trying to rip throats out and slash tendons and spill blood, and that's where Lucifer draws the line. Yes, his moral complex is flimsy at best, but this is fucking ridiculous. He's also the one partially at fault for this nightmare situation, and so he's taking responsibility. Responsibility in the form of walking around with huge, feathered black wings extended high over his head in what is clearly meant to be an intimidation tactic, cracking his whip at anything that doesn't immediately back the fuck off when it sees him.

They get two warnings. The first warning is his presence, and if small-time demons like this don't get that they're in trouble, the second warning is the deft cracking of a whip that hits a non-lethal area on the imp in question. After that, if they don't scamper away — or if they're dumb enough to attack him — Lucifer is very, very quick to strike precisely at the most lethal areas he possibly can.

Somehow, through all of this, he manages to miss you entirely with his strikes, whether you just stumbled in on the scene of him fighting imps (or fighting the air, as it probably looks to most folks) or happened to be someone he was saving from certain death. Either way, it's clear to see that the Avatar of Pride is pissed off. In fact, "pissed off" may be a gross understatement.

All this senseless violence, and the only way to solve it is with more violence. Have his kind not long since outgrown this? No? For fuck's sake.]

⛧ The Voidtorium

[When he's not committing war crimes, Lucifer can be found in front of the auditorium void flexing his wings like he's curious about something. Is he about to do something fucking stupid? Yes, he absolutely is.

That stupid thing is lowering himself like he's about to pounce, shifting his wings on his back, and preparing to yeet himself into the auditorium void... Only to see you approaching and stop. The investigation is on pause for now.]

I believe the other realm is growing. [He makes vague motions to the creeping void.] I have a mind to explore it, if you'd like to come. I believe I could fly both of us through it safely.

[Why? For science. Also for morbid curiosity. If you want to get bridal carried by a large demon and flown through the void, now's your chance!]

[As much as Lucifer is trying to put the events of the 31st out of his head, it all gets dredged back up at once when he gets that envelope in his locker. Yes, he's absolutely still upset about Madison, not that he's trying to let onto that. He doesn't get sad (he absolutely gets sad) and he doesn't get sentimental or make attachments (he absolutely does these things). He's the Avatar of Pride. He's the Avatar of Pride and he's not upset and he's not sad about Madison and he's not in grief over his siblings who are all he has left—

And because he's Not Sad and he's Not Distraught and he's Not Feeling Emotions, Thanks, he can be found in 3-C staring down at the bloody envelope with one hand half-obscuring his face.

(They're fine, he tells himself. They have to be. How could anyone bring harm to the Devildom's most powerful demons?)

Surprisingly, should you choose to swing by, he doesn't notice you. He's usually so attentive, though, how could he not hear the door opening?]

But he's no longer tolerating the shit going on here, and so—

—so that means poor Clamor gets the pleasant surprise of a whip whizzing by his head to save his eyes from being torn out by an imp. There are more than just the one, of course, and now Lucifer's gone and drawn aggro on the other ones. Surely this will end well?]

2-C flour power hour

[it has been a week, and only now has Stephanie decided to allow the rest of her group the privilege of being around the baby. this is because, when she was first given the sack of flour and realized that her group was entirely made of boys, she thought of how long a sack of flour would last with her boys back home, and. well.

so. no. she has not let even Shuichi see it, let alone Hiro, or Dito, who she only really knows from seeing him threaten to put a spear up Komaeda's butt??? until today, the 18th, when she left a note on each of their desks, telling them they had a group meeting during lunch. at said time, she will be sitting at her desk, cradling the sack of flour.]

This is Hveiti. He is our baby. If you guys promise to be really, really careful, you can maybe hold him. A little. [but this is also clearly supervised visitation because she has not actually put the flour down yet? he has a little blanket and everything.]

I. WAKE UP

[ Many people probably don't have the best memories just before they'd gotten here, but Chihiro's are particularly...not inclining him to be in the best state of mind for any of this. He's exhausted and confused and can't help but think this is what comes after everything and it really doesn't help that he doesn't even break five feet and has no muscle strength. He absolutely cannot fend off the murder imps, and he doesn't know what to do waking up in a place that seems to be shattering with so much blood -

So he can be found crouching under a desk in utter terror or being cornered by invisible things if anyone knows how to fight them, crying in both options. He'll have a few calmer options later on, but this isn't exactly the sort of place that puts him in a calm and content frame of mind, especially given his last coherent memories of "home". ]

II. WISHES?

[ He does write some wishes down although he doesn't expect any of them to be fulfilled...that said, he does (extremely cautiously) explore, although he's jumpy and prone to retreat if anything jumps out at him. But...there's one thing he really does want. ]

There's...not a computer lab...

[ It's mumbled as he opens yet another classroom door to just desks. It's not like there was one at Hope's Peak that he got to see either, but... ]

III. THINKING

[ Later in the week he can be found in one of the classrooms, probably 1-A, simply seated at his desk and rolling a small miniature pumpkin from hand to hand across the top of it, looking...concerned. He's not sure what to think of any of this, and he wishes he felt more confident about...anything. He's not sure how to get used to yet another place filled with death. ]

[ There isn’t much in life that bothers Mikey. But the sight of seeing students torn apart before his eyes, by some invisible force… well, it doesn’t bother him as much as it should, maybe, but that’s not to say he isn’t shaken. Mikey’s known for a while that something about this school was wrong. But… seeing is believing, and actually experiencing the supernatural horror of Yogen for the first time? That’s something else entirely.

Mikey’s no stranger to fighting, but it’s difficult to fight an enemy you can’t see. So it’s no surprise when all of a sudden, he can’t help but cry out in pain as he feels something sharp tear through his flesh. Clenching his teeth doesn’t help to stop the sudden agony – instinctively, he sends a kick in the direction of where he thinks the attack came from, and he feels his foot collide with something solid, but whether it’s hurt, he has no idea.

Shit. There’s blood oozing out from a gash on his side, spreading fast and staining his clothes red. It’s not a lethal injury, but it’s not something he can ignore, either… that’s what he thinks, but even then, it’s hard to tell with the way he suddenly feels dizzy… and then, something even stranger happens.

The transformation of the school has his eyes widening in surprise, as he whips his head around, alert to any signs of danger. But all that rings out is silence. Of course, he doesn’t know that the imps are gone, so he starts backing up against a wall to protect himself better, getting ready to strike again… but a moment passes - two moments, three, and there's no sign of any kind of attack. It takes him a good minute before he can properly breathe, and take in what the hell just happened for the first time.

What was that? And… what now?

He hasn't noticed your presence yet, but he's there's a serious look on his face as he tries to process it all... and he might need some medical attention, too. ]

can you hear me?

[ It's funny, writing down wishes in a place like this. Part of Mikey almost feels like if he makes his own wish, it really might come true - after all, nothing seems to be impossible here at this school. But a much larger part of him feels the opposite way - that taking part in an activity like this is dangerous, and a bad idea. Whoever runs this school clearly doesn't have the student's best interests in mind, and he doesn't want to give them a peek into his heart like that... even the idea of writing down something he wants feels somehow like making a trade with the devil.

Still. That doesn't stop him from staring at it, almost wistfully. Maybe there's someone's wish up there that he can grant, if he tries hard enough.

When he notices you, he turns, and gives you a casual smile. ]

Have you written anything? Any wishes, I mean.

[ Despite the bruises she felt, and the discomfort of what was going on. Her focus was innate and she knew exactly where to go in this world - having been here once before already. The shadows moving to drag bodies of those who died was something new to her. Her knowledge of this school now continuing to grow, but she adjusts and takes it all in very calmly. As if there was nothing weird or strange about it - this in itself would be jarring to anyone who saw her.

She takes note of another transfer student. Looking over to them, recalling having crossed paths with them before. She adjusts holding her side as she was bleeding from a flesh wound. ]

This way, before it gets to be too much.

A) Imp attack + baby’s first void visit

The Geth do not experience pain.

And yet, despite the lack of pain, the scream when they are attacked is agony on the senses, nails on chalkboard and screeching car tires and radio interference smashed together into a single burst. Bright white gushed forth from the wound and splashed onto the floor. They lashed out at the invisible force but before they could connect their surroundings shifted, and they found themselves in a school entirely different from the one they were in before.

They stare at their surroundings in a combination of confusion and alarm. Their attacker is gone, but they are injured and stuck in the void with no real understanding of what’s just happened to them.

They at least have context for the shadow students and the shadow bodies, if not why they’ve been killed, or where they’re being taken. Unsure of what else to do, they follow those dragging away the remains of former classmates.

What is this?

B) Closed prompt – first time in class with Add and Turing

They cannot escape. Disobedience invites punishment. For now, it is better to follow instruction.

They will go to class.

Despite knowing that there is, in fact, at least one other robot in this school, they are not at all expecting to find them here. Nor are they expecting … whatever is going on between Turing and their … classmate?

"Turing." Immediately, they cross the room towards their fellow synth. Are they in distress?

C) Flour baby freakout – also closed to Add and Turing

They are caring for the "baby" when it happens: the sudden… happy? gurgling has them nearly dropping the flour sack. It had already been showing abnormalities of temperature, but they had not anticipated the possibility that this would lead to signs of life.

With a burst of startled, concerned chatter, they grip the flour sack tight and go looking for the other members of their group.

D) How to care for your horrifying flour baby.

They trust Turing, but they are small and ill suited to protecting the ‘baby’ from imp attacks, and their third group member has proven that he is not a suitable ally. Thus, as a result, Legion has done a lot of caring for the apparently living being they’re currently cradling in their arms.

It’s twitching and making cooing sounds. It seems… happy? Or something.

Others might find it frightening, but Legion does not. In fact, they might almost seem… doting? It is more of a response to other’s revulsion than any real parenting instinct: they will not allow another being to be destroyed out of fear of its potential nature, when it has done nothing wrong.

If they hear any signs of imps, or other potential dangers, they’ll even act to shield it with their own body.

They’re taking this parenting assignment quite seriously, now that they know that the thing they are tasked to care for may in fact be alive.

B

Add isn't doing anything too crazy right now, but he is still being Add, so. Upon discovering that he and Turing shared the same homeroom, he has migrated his desk from the other side of the room to sit right next to Turing, despite the fact that there's already occupied desks next to theirs. It's fine, no one was really using that aisle space anyway, and it's much easier for him to observe Turing's behaviour up close like this. He spends all of his class time staring at Turing, writing notes about his various observations, and occasionally trying to poke at their hand or side when they're not paying attention to him... although, surprisingly, the few times he's called upon by the teacher he still manages to answer any class-related questions correctly. A true genius should know how to multitask, of course.

But anyway, today is different. By some miracle this is the first time Add has bumped into Legion, so when he turns to see who's talking to his favourite alien machine and sees that it's another alien machine—

"Oho! So there's more than just the one?!" He stands up from his desk, ignoring Turing for once in favour of this even newer example of unknown technology. "Different design, different materials... ah, this looks like signs of battle damage? A combat unit?"

... and, predictably, he is immediately going to try and get his grubby little hands all over Legion's nearest appendage. He just wants to see what the material feels like!!

[ You know when you like someone a lot but youre a murderer. Also a hedonist with an interest in everything bad - more or less putting it lightly. Incapable of showing affection the right way, so you do it in the worse ways. Like a feral dog that has only lived in the wilds - that's Hyde.

Hyde right now looking at Rika's shoe that was inside her box!??!? because?!?!? Japanese schools require you to wear different shoes inside. SO anyway he sees the one shoe, and decides to take it wait for Rika and give her a look. ]

「a. arts & crafts」

( For every wish that states someone wants some type of animal... Elizabeth's setting out to grant them. Admittedly, her attempts aren't going very well; origami is actually much harder than one thinks, and she has Stolen all of the paper in the arts and crafts room... not that she has left it, but she sure is hoarding it.

There's a lot of failed tries, and there's also a lot of glue and tape. Hmmming...... )

It's quite nice to have a challenge... ( she says, crumpling up one of her pony tries two minutes into making it. ) I wonder if, perhaps my fingers simply aren't deft enough... I suppose it would be helpful if I had seen a "pony" before.

「b. breaking in」

( She mmmiiight not be as strong as she usually is, but Elizabeth's still got "doesn't get tired easily" points in her, so it's mostly through endurance and persistence that she's opened the elevator doors.

The first time had an elicited an "ooh" from her, but the rest are more or less just her standing around, looking somewhat out of place and yet... somehow not? She likes standing beneath the backwards-turning clock, smiling placidly.

Eventually, there's a chair as per her wish!!! She loves it, it's perfect, her hands are smudged with blue because she went to adjust where it's sitting and the paint is still wet but it's fine, she's fine. )

「c. catchers」

( Suncatchers, that is, which is what Elizabeth found in her locker; she's been looking for a decent place to hang it where she can admire it properly, but without it being at risk of being stolen - these two things do not go hand in hand, which results in her, one weekend, sitting by a window in 1-D like a sphinx while her pretty little suncatcher hangs in the open window.

The next day, it's retained its light(!), and she hooks it onto her bag for easy carrying. Every so often, she taps it for the faint ringing noise, but mostly seems pleased with it?? And will stop people just to say- )

I had no idea humans had such wonderful inventions such as this... A tool meant to capture the sun's radiance and retain it - it must have proved useful in the days of yore, when it rained and fire could not be made quite as quickly as they needed it. Ooh, or exploring caves - that would certainly be helpful, wouldn't it?

( More accurately, knowing the Void is dark and kind of creepy, Elizabeth's decided to take her suncatcher with her to it. As terrible as it is, at least it isn't hard to get transported there, what with the little invisible imps terrorizing people - she steps firmly as if that's going to smush any of them underfoot, regardless of if she can see them or not, and traverses the halls, swinging her lighted suncatcher like a priest with a thurible. )

( Through a series of unfortunate and untimely events, their flour baby has turned into more of the monster that it looks like — well, by anyone else's standards. As its mother, Elizabeth thinks it is the cutest thing in the world. (That's what mothers do, correct? Love their children no matter how they look? She's never had one—)

That doesn't make untrue the fact that other people might find it... a little terrifying... or the fact that they have watched it completely murk some other pair's flour sack baby and tear into it like a gremlin.

Which makes their child a threat, but more importantly, puts their child in danger... for being a potential threat... or seen as one.........

Anyway. Elizabeth peers around a corner, placing a finger to her lips to signal to Komaeda to be quiet. Just at the other end of the hall, after all, is... )

Our little Kibou is in sight. I believe he's going to duck into one of the classrooms... Perhaps we should attempt to corner him, then swaddle him into submission. Your thoughts, Nagito?

1: hey, how ya been

[ If they couldn't even protect a bag of flour, that was it. They certainly couldn't protect any of their friends if they were really that powerless. While their actions in the past showed so many ways they had persevered in the fact of adversity, the recent events clouded over everything. "Events" were certainly a very diplomatic way of referencing what had happened, but it was really more of a gladiator's arena with all the cruelty those words implied. Maya...really was that scary, and they couldn't even break a window to stop her.

With those thoughts in mind, Turing hugged the bag of flour to themselves as if it was a teddy bear, and they continued to do so long after 2-A emptied out for the day. ]

2: no, the reception isn't very good

[ Investigating gave Turing more productive things to think about. It got them to think about the world in the present tense instead of what it could or should be. While they didn't quite realize it at the time, it also helped them feel a little closer to a certain plucky journalist from back home. The elevator was a perfect recipient for their investigations.

Despite the loss of daylight, the light from their monitor both made them stick out and faintly lit the elevator doors and buttons. They learned very quickly that the aforementioned buttons didn't do anything. However, Turing was not at all deterred by this, and they began working their fingers into the narrow gaps between the doors. This was easier said than done, and their silicone fingers stubbornly slipped against the metal doors, but the little robot was still trying despite their numerous unsuccessful attempts.

When Turing decided to do something, that wasn't a choice they made lightly.

When the door finally gave way, they were so surprised that they lost their grip and fell over backwards. Oof. ]

3: I'm not sure it will be

[ The air around the clock tower may have been difficult to breathe for humans, but Turing had no such problem. They had come here for one very important reason: art. They had carted an easel and canvas along with some other painting supplies all the way up the stairs, which was more than a little time-consuming and awkward. Even with the gnats below in the courtyard, it was worth it to have the wisteria tree and its delicate purple blooms as a model. It would have been nice to be a little closer, but that would just have to be enough for now.

Turing liked to paint how they felt. Other times they liked to go back to comforting subjects. With the current weight of their feelings pulling them down, the choice had been obvious. ]

[ Arthur is passing by the classroom, and grumbles it to himself when he catches Turing's loving embrace of the flour sack. He's seen an automation before, but he's still from 1899. This may be odd, but damn if this whole place ain't backwards.

At this point, he's more concerned about seeing anyone mess with the damn flour sacks, considering what happened with his has him reeling still. He addresses them directly as he enters the room. ]

Don't go messin with those things. Whatever the hell they are.
