WHAT: Time for the Gardening Club's first meeting!
WHEN: Early June, just after school

WARNINGS: ... None. Yet. It's Yogen, we'll see.

i. INTEREST CHECK! 

( at some point during the first week of june, you might find nene at the bulletin board, putting up a new flyer: an advertisement for a potential gardening club! the flyer itself has a series of lines so that people can note down their names to show their own interest, but since you seem to have caught nene- or perhaps another person also interested- there, you can ask her anything right there! despite the circles under her eyes, she smiles brightly when approached. )

Are you interested in gardening? 

ii. a: the first meeting! 

( a few days later- wow, that sheet filled up fast!- and nene has happily let everyone who signed up- or perhaps were signed up against their will- to meet after school in room 3-E. at some point you'll see her trying to lug around a bunch of equipment to set up... or maybe you'll get there by the time everything's been set up. 3-E has a new shelf installed, and on series of desks pushed together is a few stacks of clay pots, planters, tools, and a bunch of seed packets. left on the ground is sacks of soil and meal. to the side, however, is a little egg carton planter that nene is tending to herself, given that the flowers have began sprouting over the course of may. )

Hi! Welcome to the first meeting of the gardening club! Not everyone has experience, so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! If I can't help, I'm sure someone with more experience can!

So, we've got a lot to work with... which I think is really fun, because it gives everyone an opportunity to do something different! 

( she's so excited, guys. as she starts setting things out for everyone, it should be clear to see the inventory: 

10 Standard Clay Pots - 1 for each Club Member
5 small multi-plot planters
12 packs of seeds ( American Coneflower, Chamomile, Mint, Daffodil, Lavender, Sage, Strawberries, Cosmos, Basil, Rosemary, Anemones, Jade Plant )
3 Hand Tool sets ( trowel, transplanter, cultivator and weeder )

and she's also made a set of labels for everything with toothpicks, paper and a bunch of markers for everyone to make their own. all in all, a varied and... oddly useful haul? )

ii. b: getting to work

( after helping people get started, nene has turned most of her attention to the egg carton planter. if you pay attention, you can see her carefully cutting the cardboard and transferring different sprouts into a planter. though she seems to be leaving the little labels she's made blank. huh! what's up with that? )

iii. the mingle

( not an actual prompt, just have fun and get to know your new fellow clubmates! some folks might need help getting started, or maybe you recognize some of the seeds! the bloodmeal doesn't activate the void school, thankfully. have fun, don't be a dick, love you all. )

iii. OTA: Lucifer's Here Now™

[These plants are ostensibly normal compared to what's in the Devildom, which Lucifer will share if you talk to him for longer than five minutes. Sometimes, they have normal plants that get spells cast on them, which Lucifer might also share with you — a story about the time Satan got a cursed plant from a disgruntled girl who he once rejected, and how said cursed plant attempted to kill him over time. That was funny.

Or, if you ask really nicely, he'll share the time he bought expensive-ass roses worth 100 million grimm and gave them to the Prince of Hell himself as a birthday gift, and how one such rose was turned into the fanciest tea he's ever had by the Prince's butler.

Basically, Lucifer's 500 old man stories aside, he has an interest in plants. He helped to maintain the gardens out in the front yard of his house, after all, and so he knows a thing or two. He hasn't yet planted the daffodil seeds next to him, though, because he's busy painting his clay pot. Yes, he did steal paints from the art room for this. Fuck them kids, Lucifer does what he wants.

Which sadly includes probably telling you one or all of the aforementioned stories like a grandpa and also might include explaining that one time a carnivorous plant tried to eat Mammon, good times. Please indulge your wealthy demon grandpa father by listening to him talk, he's just an old man.]

[ They are both spellbound, and also hiding behind their hands when he talks about plants eating people. No! No! Say it isn't so. Plants are one of the few cute good things in the world, okay? Don't shatter their fragile innocence!! ]

Did Mammon-san grow that plant... [ They look down at the seeds with wide eyes, even as their hand reaches out to try and snag one of the jars of paint. They want to make their pot colorful too. Share you old man. ] Afe...what do you do if a plant tries to attack you? How do you know which ones are good?

[Lucifer shares paint! There's no red because the art room hasn't had proper red paint in months, but there's everything else.]

No, luckily, Mammon didn't grow it. I believe it was wild. Carnivorous plants of that variety usually don't grow in the human world, though I distinctly recall that one having massive teeth and being twice my size, [and Lucifer is not a small man,] so that's a good indicator as to if it's dangerous or not. As far as I know, in the human world, carnivorous plants don't "attack" like that, nor do they get quite so ridiculously large or violent.

[But also he can't account for other worlds. He can only account for what his worlds are like. Plural, because before coming here all he knew was that there were three worlds (or three realms, more like) and now he's meeting people who are uh, not... from any of those three. Wow, multiverse theory.]

There is a variety of carnivorous plants that don't have teeth called pitcher plants. They feed on insects who make the mistake of falling into them. They're too little to harm you. There's also the venus fly trap, which looks as though it has teeth, but again, they're far too small to do anything to you and consume bugs. I rather like the latter variety for pest control reasons.

[ Paint, acquired. They are using random colors of such assortment their pot is probably going to end up brown but well. Crona's happy. ]

I see. I see. [ They nod, eyes wide. ] T-teeth you say. Wow. Are we in the human world right now? I'm human right? [If there aren't meister or weapons or witches, they aren't sure where they fall. ] I don't wanna fall in any plants.

You certainly feel human to me. I have a preternatural sense for such things, being a high-ranking demon. [He doesn't even bat an eyelash as he says that, and just keeps working.] I believe this is... somewhere within the human world, yes, some alternate dimension of a sort... but beyond that, I don't have much of a hypothesis. This certainly isn't the Devildom — or Hell, depending on what word you want to use.

I doubt you'll be able to find such a dangerous variety of plant here of all places.

I feel human? [Their mom wasn't human, and they don't have any human blood left. Maybe he's sensing a soul...? Crona can't see souls, but Maka told them theirs's looked "ok" after they fought. ] If you're a demon, I trust you. Where I come from, demons are what we call really strong witches or weapons. [They're also extremely evil but Crona does not really concern themselves with that. ]

I guess everyone else here looks like a person. Is hell real? I thought it was a metaphor. [The real hell is inside your head! ]

O-ok but! If these plants go evil...I don't want to deal with it!

[Lucifer can, in fact, see souls, being a demon and all that. Some souls confuse him. This one looks human-esque to him and the last time he pointed out someone's mortal soul to them he made the mistake of asking what race they were and it was Clamor and he didn't mean to be racist but he feels kinda bad, okay. So he's not going to ask.

(Oh my God, Lucifer, you can't just ask people why they're elvish.)]

Hell certainly is real. All nine layers of it. The first layer isn't so bad. Someone like you would be able to survive there with minimal problems. We've brought humans and angels there before for an exchange program... I used to be on the faculty of a university, you see.

[Those humans and angels did not cause quite so many problems as Lucifer's own siblings did, which he would have thought would be the opposite, at the beginning of the exchange program anyway.]

...ahem, my point, [Lucifer is an old man and sometimes old men have stories!] is that Hell is indeed real, and you'd be fine if you paid us a visit.

Wow. I always figured it was really scary and awful, worse then the real world. [ They made a lot of metaphors about it while trying to kill people! ] Guess I was wrong. Sorry. I insulted your house by comparing it to my head.

[He laughs, one very loud ha! as he's busily painting the flower pot.]

I don't mind. There's hardly a need to apologise. It's only the first layer of Hell that isn't so bad. If you were to take a walk through the other layers, more specifically the seventh through ninth, you would quickly succumb to madness.

[He says this like it's the most casual thing ever. Like, hey, let's go spelunking in the underworld, you'll go insane and die probably!]

Oh, thats it? I'd probably be fine....maybe. [They're supposed to be able to withstand madness! You should have met them a few months ago, they were giggling and stabbing people along with all the complaining. Black blood is a hell of a drug. ] I thought maybe there'd be spikes or something. Spikes would go into my feet and make it hard to walk or move around, and when I can't walk things get way harder to deal with.
