i. INTEREST CHECK!

( at some point during the first week of june, you might find nene at the bulletin board, putting up a new flyer: an advertisement for a potential gardening club! the flyer itself has a series of lines so that people can note down their names to show their own interest, but since you seem to have caught nene- or perhaps another person also interested- there, you can ask her anything right there! despite the circles under her eyes, she smiles brightly when approached. )

ii. a: the first meeting!

( a few days later- wow, that sheet filled up fast!- and nene has happily let everyone who signed up- or perhaps were signed up against their will- to meet after school in room 3-E. at some point you'll see her trying to lug around a bunch of equipment to set up... or maybe you'll get there by the time everything's been set up. 3-E has a new shelf installed, and on series of desks pushed together is a few stacks of clay pots, planters, tools, and a bunch of seed packets. left on the ground is sacks of soil and meal. to the side, however, is a little egg carton planter that nene is tending to herself, given that the flowers have began sprouting over the course of may. )

Hi! Welcome to the first meeting of the gardening club! Not everyone has experience, so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! If I can't help, I'm sure someone with more experience can!

So, we've got a lot to work with... which I think is really fun, because it gives everyone an opportunity to do something different!

( she's so excited, guys. as she starts setting things out for everyone, it should be clear to see the inventory:

10 Standard Clay Pots - 1 for each Club Member
5 small multi-plot planters
12 packs of seeds ( American Coneflower, Chamomile, Mint, Daffodil, Lavender, Sage, Strawberries, Cosmos, Basil, Rosemary, Anemones, Jade Plant )
3 Hand Tool sets ( trowel, transplanter, cultivator and weeder )

and she's also made a set of labels for everything with toothpicks, paper and a bunch of markers for everyone to make their own. all in all, a varied and... oddly useful haul? )

ii. b: getting to work

( after helping people get started, nene has turned most of her attention to the egg carton planter. if you pay attention, you can see her carefully cutting the cardboard and transferring different sprouts into a planter. though she seems to be leaving the little labels she's made blank. huh! what's up with that? )

iii. the mingle

( not an actual prompt, just have fun and get to know your new fellow clubmates! some folks might need help getting started, or maybe you recognize some of the seeds! the bloodmeal doesn't activate the void school, thankfully. have fun, don't be a dick, love you all. )

Of course not. We'll all do our best to keep all the plants healthy and thriving, but if something happens, we can always try again.

( everything she has does seem pretty hardy... what would be a good beginner plant? )

O-oh...Thank goodness. [ They slump back into their chair. ]

I really don't want to kill a plant. They're nice.

They are! ... Hmm... if you're worried, we can start you out with the jade plant! They're notorious for being hard to kill. And they're really cute!

( of course, with the size of the pots, they'll probably need a couple seeds so as to ensure the pot gets properly utilized... a bundle of jade plants... )

Jade? Thats a rock! Not a plant! [ Nene...couldn't lie to them...could she? She was nice, right??? ]

I know I'm bad at stuff, so maybe I can kill rocks! But I'd like a plant please!

No, no, it's called a jade plant because of the color. It's a real plant, I promise!

( she darts off and comes back quickly, carrying the seed packet to show them- given that it's a succulent, it's a little complicated. )

See? The color is like the rock, so that's why it's named such.

Ah....

[Oh. Yeah, she's right. They flip the packet over a few times as they read it and then grimace. They feel pretty silly, and just end up flushing and hiding behind the seed packet to avoid her gaze. Nooooo don't look at them when they're being duummmmmb. ]

( normally, nene would give a consoling pat-pat, but... something tells her that might not be so good for crona. they're a very delicate soul. )

It's okay. I think a lot of people who didn't know would make the mistake. My friend Kou-kun... I think he'd assume the same thing too.

[ They would probably enjoy the pat but they'd also jump like a foot in their chair - so maybe thats for the best. ]

Kou-kun? Is he also here?

[ Nene has lots of friends, so that would make sense. ]

Oh- no... he's someone from home.

( and thank goodness for that- even if his exorcism skills could be useful, she couldn't bear to see him here like this. underneath all the wild energy, he was such a gentle boy. )

... He's very excitable and passionate, and he wants to protect people. I think he'd be able to befriend a lot of people here... but. I don't want anyone here.

Sounds like a really hard to deal with person...Noisy...

Really? I want Maka here for sure! She'd know what to do always and I don't know what I'm supposed to do with void schools or classwork...thats really scary stuff. Maybe our friends could be friends, and fix stuff together.

No, he's very kind and tries to be considerate of others. He's one of the nicest people I know.

( ... they want someone here...? do they... does crona not understand that almost none of this school is Good? or is it like how she selfishly wanted hanako's presence as a comfort and to feel somewhat safe again? )

Maybe... Tell me about Maka?

Maka is amazing. She's really pretty, and she has nice brown hair. She's a weapon meister who's trying to make a death scythe...that means she's a student at the DWMA but I didn't know that when I first met her. [ Warm memories of nearly killing her and then getting the snot beaten out of them in a church. ]

Maka is strong...and a bit reckless. She acts like she cares a lot about the rules, but she cares about doing what's right more. She always stops following them when someone's in trouble. She wasn't supposed to even fight me, but she did anyway because she thought I needed help. That's really nice...but more then that, I think it means she's really brave. I was really going to try and hurt her...but that didn't matter to her.

( is that a crush she senses... ... nope, not her business, and crona's delicate and wouldn't appreciate that questioning anyways. but... uh. huh.

... She sounds really nice. I hope I can meet her someday. ( nene gives a warm smile- they WILL introduce their friends someday. when everyone's freed. ) You can show her your plants, and how you raised it. Wouldn't that be nice?

[ Its absolutely a crush. They are head over heels and have zero way to tell. What is love Nene? Apparently its telling the person you're about to kill that they have nice hair and then throwing away your life's work to hang out with them. ]

Oh! Yeah that would be! [They're so chipper when talking about Maka. ] She would probably have a whole book about them she'd tell me to read. Maybe I should get a head start on that. [In a rare show of maturity, they actually try to stop their rambling for a second. ] ...what sort of things does Kou like? Does he help you with plants ever? Or do you have other friends for that?

Kou-kun enjoys cooking! We made donuts together once. My friend Aoi-chan was in the gardening club with me though- flowers just seemed to bloom so much brighter under her care...

( it's nice that crona seems so happy talking about his friend though. ... but... what is home like, that none of this is truly alarming to them? )

Kou and Aoi....those are nice names. They sound like pleasant people.

I've never had a doughnut, are they good? [ The less you think about Crona's home life the better. They're pretty happy now, and thats what matters, right? ]
