WHAT: Time for the Gardening Club's first meeting!
WHEN: Early June, just after school
WHERE: Room 3-E
WARNINGS: ... None. Yet. It's Yogen, we'll see.

i. INTEREST CHECK! 

( at some point during the first week of june, you might find nene at the bulletin board, putting up a new flyer: an advertisement for a potential gardening club! the flyer itself has a series of lines so that people can note down their names to show their own interest, but since you seem to have caught nene- or perhaps another person also interested- there, you can ask her anything right there! despite the circles under her eyes, she smiles brightly when approached. )

Are you interested in gardening? 

ii. a: the first meeting! 

( a few days later- wow, that sheet filled up fast!- and nene has happily let everyone who signed up- or perhaps were signed up against their will- to meet after school in room 3-E. at some point you'll see her trying to lug around a bunch of equipment to set up... or maybe you'll get there by the time everything's been set up. 3-E has a new shelf installed, and on series of desks pushed together is a few stacks of clay pots, planters, tools, and a bunch of seed packets. left on the ground is sacks of soil and meal. to the side, however, is a little egg carton planter that nene is tending to herself, given that the flowers have began sprouting over the course of may. )

Hi! Welcome to the first meeting of the gardening club! Not everyone has experience, so if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask! If I can't help, I'm sure someone with more experience can!

So, we've got a lot to work with... which I think is really fun, because it gives everyone an opportunity to do something different! 

( she's so excited, guys. as she starts setting things out for everyone, it should be clear to see the inventory: 

10 Standard Clay Pots - 1 for each Club Member
5 small multi-plot planters
12 packs of seeds ( American Coneflower, Chamomile, Mint, Daffodil, Lavender, Sage, Strawberries, Cosmos, Basil, Rosemary, Anemones, Jade Plant )
3 Hand Tool sets ( trowel, transplanter, cultivator and weeder )

and she's also made a set of labels for everything with toothpicks, paper and a bunch of markers for everyone to make their own. all in all, a varied and... oddly useful haul? )

ii. b: getting to work

( after helping people get started, nene has turned most of her attention to the egg carton planter. if you pay attention, you can see her carefully cutting the cardboard and transferring different sprouts into a planter. though she seems to be leaving the little labels she's made blank. huh! what's up with that? )

iii. the mingle

( not an actual prompt, just have fun and get to know your new fellow clubmates! some folks might need help getting started, or maybe you recognize some of the seeds! the bloodmeal doesn't activate the void school, thankfully. have fun, don't be a dick, love you all. )

It's just an interest of MINE... I just turned seventeen this past FebruaRY, so I'm still young YET. ( He should technically be a third year but years work differently here in Yogen High anyway, so whatever. ) Young women with an interest in flower arrangements often know a thing or two about this TOO, so I wouldn't reserve it just for the elderLY.

That sounds pretty old to me. [ :P Crona doesn't know how old they are, but they can't be that old. ] I don't know anyone whose 17. Well, except here. Now I know lots more people... [ A pause. ] So knowing flower arranging is for young-old people? Did you learn it from a young person or an old person? Please be clear!

I learned it from my momMY, whose age is unimportant to morTALS, and thus she never gives it OUT. I wouldn't call her "OLD," but she's not young eiTHER.

Oh...you too? The last time someone asked Lady Medusa's age I had to attack them.

[ She's over 800, by the way. Crona is just a really weird recent edition to her life. ] She never told me anything about flowers though.

Oh! Yeah. She really liked snakes. [ They pause. ] ...Do you want to learn anything about snakes?

I'd love TO. Give me some fun snake FACTS, Crona-san.

O-oh! [ Yes! Something they know. ] You can tell me more plant facts after. I want to hear more!

Did you know vipers can have something called a 'pit organ' that lets them detect infrared light. Most people think they are detecting heat, but warm objects actually emit those infrared thignies. I think seeing in the dark like that would be really useful.

Is that SO? Perhaps nicknaming Kawai-chan after them was a more suitable than I THOUGHT... She seems like the type of creature to be able to do something like THAT.

Kawai-chan? Do we have another person who likes snakes at the school? [ :>! ] I hope she can see in the dark, I tried to explore the big void with Mister Lucifer, and we didn't see anything!

[ They nod. ]

They're one of the few snakes who keep their eggs inside them! So they give birth to live babies!

Do they take care of their young once they're BORN, or are they left to fend for themselves like most animals do to their KIN?

No, they're born fully independent. I don't know of any reptiles that really take care of their babies. [They look down at their plant with a sigh. Lady Medusa was gone, but why did they keep thinking about her? ] Sounds hard to deal with...but maybe if you're a little baby snake you don't care if you don't have parents.

I doubt they have the cognitive awareness to think SO, but perhaps they think they sprung from nothing and noWHERE, not unlike GODS.

[ Its not in the least what he asked, but Crona is great at jumping to weird associations. ]

I don't know what cognitive awareness means, but snakes are pretty smart!

I miss Maka, but Ragnorok isn't here! I think it would be nicer if she just came over instead! Then she could help me study, and we could hang out again.

I'm not in any clubs back home, so I don't wanna leave until I've grown a plant!

Mhm. So don't go leaving before you grow your plant. I can't take care of two of them...

[ Nothing bad would happen to Maka, Crona would protect her! ]

Ragnorok lives in my blood. He's a terrible guy - he's always bullying me and messing with my clothes! I hate him so much...but he's not here with me, which is super weird. I thought I'd die without him.

My bloods the same color, so maybe he's still in it but just asleep? I don't know.

[ Who cares though, if he's awful. Maybe on some level Crona see's him as a sort of brother...but an awful, terrible, bullying brother who always beats them up. Its fun to play without him. ]

Oh its fine. Lady Medusa did it when I was really little so that I'd become stronger. I don't remember it.

Were you a sickly CHILD? It seems like there's more of us than I THOUGHT, though mine wasn't too BAD... My parents were merely cautious of the possibiliTY.

Sick? [They stare blankly. ] I guess a lot of the stuff Lady Medusa did made me sick. It was for my own good.

[ They lean closer to Natsume, eyes suddenly wide and unblinking. ]

What were your parents like? I don't think most people do stuff like that but I'm used to not thinking about it. But these days...I wanna know.

My mommy is a world famous fortune teller who can get anyone and everyone to come see her with just a WORD. My daddy, on the other hand, is an extremely successful and smart entrepeNEUR... I'm sure he can have anyone's ear as WELL, but Mommy's definitely better at IT.
