dorm fundraiser log
Just for the weekend, the classrooms 3-A and 3-B have been transformed into a host club and a maid cafe, respectively. The students are free to come and go as they please, as well as bring their parents, siblings and whoever else to come help raise funds for the dorms. The promotional poster hangs on the wall between the classrooms, its' artist unknown and left uncredited.
CLASSROOM 3-A
Aka the temporary home of a maid cafe. Decorated mostly in golds and blues, just for today, the students can indulge the illusion of being a Master and having some semblance of control in their lives.
The cafe serves coffee, tea, placebo love potions that taste like strawberry soda, omurice donated by the cooking club with an option to request a message written in ketchup, and a variety of sweets, including baked goods prepared by the transfer students. Some of our cute maids include Kaede, Nene, Natsume, Noah, and, for a very brief time, Rika — though she quickly leaves to tend to the love spell booth. A little far off from that happens to be the kissing booth, ran by Subaru and Komaeda, as well as the charm-selling booth ran by Natsume. Any treats the students offered up for sale will be displayed on a makeshift menu written down on the chalkboard, with slightly-exaggerated prices, because this is a fundraiser and we can't have people skimp out.
CLASSROOM 3-B
Next up, the host club, with Lucifer, Sara, Hinata, Komaeda, Hajun, Gundham and Subaru working in shifts to appease the picky tastes of any students who feel like becoming a refined Ojou-sama.
Just like the Maid cafe, the Host club offers a variety of foods donated by the students, with an additional option to order an alcohol-less champagne, which is really just bubbly soda served in a champagne glass. But, you know, for the realism... A bit further into the classroom, you'll find Gundham's cartomancy booth, as well as Shuichi's lost & found booth. You're free to request as many hosts as you want for the occasion, and make them drink as much of the bubbly soda as you wish, all for a price, of course — and if someone's stomach starts to hurt, well... that's why they take turns!
HALLWAY
The festivities take part long before you enter either classroom, however...
Outside, you can find little Turing, who's all dressed up and eager to help and provide information about the boths, as well as our lovely Elizabeth, who, on top of making snow cones with her very fearsome persona, is offering quick-and-easy introductions for each maid and host, to make your choice that much simpler! Simply name whoever you're interested in, and you'll get to hear a witty line about them:
Nene"A cute girl with a smile that's sure to heal your heart! The Sheep Among The Wolves, Nene Yashiro!"Kaede"There's no one better for a motherly, guiding touch! Our Lady of Passion, Kaede Akamatsu!"Natsume"Boys in skirts is certainly a bold choice for the year we're in, but if you can make it work... The Double-Crossing Crossdresser, Natsume Sakasaki!"Noah"Young but wise in the ways of love, this quiet boy offers an experience like no other! The Epitome of a Youthful Spring, Noah Ebalon!"Lucifer"Get lucky and you might just see his morning star rise! The Virtue of Patience, Lucifer!"Sara"She's serious and seriously not playing! The Hands-On Detective, Sara Chidouin!"Komaeda"The skin of a killer glitters with the light of hope! Despair's Friendly Foe, Nagito Komaeda!"Hinata"Even most normal-looking boys have something to offer! The Stand-Out Everyman, Hinata Hajime!"Hajun"You can't trust a man with looks this good, can you? The Octopus Trap of the Heart, Hajun Yeon!"Gundham"He's a friend to all things, living or dead! Yogen's Catastroprince of Ice, Gundham Tanaka!"Subaru"If you're feeling a little lonely tonight, why not make a wish on the first star you see? The Sparkling Knight of the Night Sky, Subaru Akehoshi!"
Well? Have you decided yet?

THE DCC
Nyatsume-chan, that's how you should say that...
( for the cat life, but it's been awhile since he's been able to have a proper conversation with natsume when it wasn't the pda — they've kept their distance, or rather their paths just didn't have reason crossing one another. luckily, this fundraiser that rika put a great amount of thought into has given them that chance, so komaeda will accept it, besides he's been thinking since their time apart. )
And you should wear the tail, it'll catch the attention of many customers...
( it's a two-shade of blue which probably doesn't match natsume's attire, but komaeda's already unclipping it from his clothes as he looks towards the other. ) May I?

If it'd please YOU, Master, then certainLY. ( he's going to be sick, but he turns around. obediently. privately planning how to murder komaeda. ) Nyatsume-chan... You're RIGHT, that is how I should say it... Nyatsume-chan's very happy you're instructing HER, Master.

( alright, komaeda waits for natsume to turn around, and once he does, komaeda will clip the cat tail onto him. while he's wearing it, he'll be able to see a certain cheshire cat appear out the corner of his eyes, but because of how those creatures function... it's almost like it's playing with him. )
That's why she can wear Master's important pieces, on a scale from one to ten, how purrfect does it feel?
( his fingers brush against the tip of it, his index scratching despite knowing natsume can't feel a thing, but isn't it a cute accessory? one of komaeda's favorites. )

...Nyatsume-chan gives it a ten out of ten, of COURSE ♪ ( he swishes his skirt from side to side, to let the cat tail bounce a little too. ) Does it suit Nyatsume-chan TOO, Master? She'd be SO. VeRY. HapPY. If it DID.

she isn't thinking of looking for anyone in particular. she really isn't thinking of much at all. so, when her gaze lands on Natsume, she isn't thinking "oh, this is that guy I care a lot about who murdered a girl in cold blood and I haven't spoken to him since because I can't emotionally process that." she's just thinking "hee that dress looks silly" and appropriately giggling into a cupcake.]

This was the only way Kawai-san would let Natsume-chan host her own BOOTH. Perhaps you could swing by there later as WELL ♪ She's selling all matters of CHARMS. He's a little surprised at the maid outfit, but it's also that Natsume was up for coming at all after what happened at the meeting with Rika. But Hinata just sighs a little, and instead of standing there with widened eyes, he enters the rest of the way.]
Hey, Sakasaki. [His voice is quiet, but unbothered.] How much are the charms going for?
[He has the briefest feeling of deja vu. It's similar to when they'd talked, once, during a time that was simpler for the both of them.]

Ordinary omamori priCES. ( He pushes some of the paper charms aside — less important ones are around the lower end, while the studying ones are definitely on the higher end. Supply and demand, baby. ) I don't see a point in charging any higher than THAT... They're made of paper, after ALL.
( It'd kind of feel like ripping off if he overcharged for them. )

[Even if they remind him of New Years a little, which. Isn't always the greatest thought. Still, it's a nostalgic thought; he feels like it's been a little too long since he saw one, between Yogen and Jabberwock.

It's a shame we don't get any money in here, or I'd buy one. Even if you'd let me take one for trading info, that probably defeats the whole purpose, right? a charming booth... hi
still, she watches him throughout the whole thing, as if making sure he doesn't make some sort of a wrong move, or anything that'd garner suspicion, especially when he sets up his own booth. it's only then that she actually approaches, glancing at the charms, and at the stack of Regret Papers, a little doubtful.

she takes one of the omamori on display — protection, it says — and makes a face. )
Will it protect me from evil spirits, Natsume-chan?

If you believe hard enough it MIGHT, but I'd suggest finding someone to bless it just to be extra SAFE. Though ( he pauses, hands folding in front of him on the booth ) it wasn't an evil spiRIT. They were the feelings Sato-chan had when she was undergoing having a piece of her soul placed within that toy HORSE.
( Or... going by their conversation, he has reason to believe that. )
I apologized to her and asked her about it a few days aGO. ( natsume watches rika, less wary than he has been previously around her — he doesn't think she'd do anything with so many people who aren't part of this around, so. it'd ruin the fundraiser. ) I'd advise you to be cautious with belongings you find here that don't feel like your OWN, Kawai-san. I wouldn't want you to suffer the same FATE.
looks up... natsumechan
... she was undergoing what, again? ( the way natsume phrases it sounds like she went through an operation to have a piece of her soul placed in a horse... which just makes rika that much more bewildered, because, what the fuck?
then again, maybe that's how she survived... wait, what is this, harry potter? )
It's fine. I'm not gonna let myself get possessed by feelings, of all things. ( "sorry to you but i'm built different" ) It sounds stupid to begin with. If Nao's the girl from the case, then... did she at least tell you what happened to her?

Do.. Do people really fall for these things? This wont do anything.

Traditionally speaKING, you buy these for other people and give it to them as a way to cheer them ON, or show that you CARE. I don't see a problem with buying them for yourself either THOUGH. ( He picks up one of the protection charms, bending it slightly. They're also typically made of something textile, but we're making do with what Natsume can feasibly do and he isn't the seamster of their group. ) You could think of it as a comFORT, or a promise to do IT... Something to focus ON. A symbol of your beLIEF, either in yourself or in someone ELSE.
( It's a sweet notion. It makes people happy, really. )
And belief is one of the more powerful magics available to those without magic of their OWN. ( He sets it back down, straightening the line of charms idly. ) Wouldn't you SAY, Megistus-san?

Mona gives a curious look, her thumb and index pinching her chin. A brow raised and she sits there for a short moment having realized it was things like this that made her think more critically over the conception of Fate, Destiny, and the way the world aligns with the people upon it. Lies created belief, and in that way good will came from it - how cant that be bad? ] An interesting way of seeing it, and something one cannot deny as the truth.
Is there one - I mean a charm. Bestowing good fortune then, for someone else?

a charming booth (depresso ver)
[ It's an observation he makes kind of idly, almost to himself, as he finishes inspecting the stack of papers Natsume's set aside and the instructions that go with them. There's the beginning of a sheepish smile -- usually the closest you'll get with him since it isn't... really something he does -- as he looks up to meet the booth owner's eyes. In all honesty, he wonders if Natsume got the idea because that's what he'd like for himself at the moment... but that's a bit of a heavy topic to get into. Not to mention Shuichi doesn't really figure the other would tell him if he asks. ]
Ah... here. I think this should be enough.
[ He double-checks the price for a second, setting down a few coins that he's earned on his own a bit earlier. He can't really tell why these, out of everything he's been looking at... but it's just what he feels like doing right now.
He has pens in his pocket if needed, but... is there something specific he's supposed to use to write? ]

On that note.
He hasn't been reading people's regrets — most people come by when he isn't around and has left the booth to someone else to tend temporarily while he plays maid to anyone who might request him, and when he is here to take them, he keeps his gaze pointed away for privacy — but he can't help but be curious about Shuichi's. He won't say he's surprised (everyone has regrets in their life, small or large), but...
He's curious. He takes Shuichi's money with a soft hum, counting it to doublecheck before he shuffles it into the box beneath the booth's table that he's been placing payment in, clattering slightly noisily in with the results of his hard work. )
I suppose it doesn't matTER, seeing as all of the money's going to the same PLACE... but you'd squander your coin on regrets rather than — ( ......... ) Never MIND. The other options aren't really your style eiTHER.
( love spells, kissing, hosts and maids, cartomancy... )

He's being judged... but he'll accept that, it's fine. He looks a bit amused despite himself; or you know, if someone could sound both that and resigned at the same time -- that's what this is like. ]
I don't think... you can call it squandering if you point out the reason it isn't in the first place... But I suppose you're right. If Akamatsu-san saw me, she'd likely scold me too.
[ An admission which... still does exactly nothing to deter him.
The marker scrapes across paper, in that half-dry sort of manner they tend to, and the paper itself moves in turn as Shuichi writes, since he doesn't have the luxury of using his other hand to hold it in place right now. Because of that, he traces things slowly... careful with every stroke, so if Natsume's really that curious he has ample time he can wait it out and look -- and most likely guess it before Shuichi's finished.
The message on the paper is rather simple: FINDING THE TRUTH. Not exposing it, not the way it was handled or how it morphed in the hands of others, but having found it at all from the get-go. That's his regret. ]
