dorm fundraiser log

Just for the weekend, the classrooms 3-A and 3-B have been transformed into a host club and a maid cafe, respectively. The students are free to come and go as they please, as well as bring their parents, siblings and whoever else to come help raise funds for the dorms. The promotional poster hangs on the wall between the classrooms, its' artist unknown and left uncredited.

CLASSROOM 3-A

Aka the temporary home of a maid cafe. Decorated mostly in golds and blues, just for today, the students can indulge the illusion of being a Master and having some semblance of control in their lives.

The cafe serves coffee, tea, placebo love potions that taste like strawberry soda, omurice donated by the cooking club with an option to request a message written in ketchup, and a variety of sweets, including baked goods prepared by the transfer students. Some of our cute maids include Kaede, Nene, Natsume, Noah, and, for a very brief time, Rika — though she quickly leaves to tend to the love spell booth. A little far off from that happens to be the kissing booth, ran by Subaru and Komaeda, as well as the charm-selling booth ran by Natsume. Any treats the students offered up for sale will be displayed on a makeshift menu written down on the chalkboard, with slightly-exaggerated prices, because this is a fundraiser and we can't have people skimp out.

CLASSROOM 3-B

Next up, the host club, with Lucifer, Sara, Hinata, Komaeda, Hajun, Gundham and Subaru working in shifts to appease the picky tastes of any students who feel like becoming a refined Ojou-sama.

Just like the Maid cafe, the Host club offers a variety of foods donated by the students, with an additional option to order an alcohol-less champagne, which is really just bubbly soda served in a champagne glass. But, you know, for the realism... A bit further into the classroom, you'll find Gundham's cartomancy booth, as well as Shuichi's lost & found booth. You're free to request as many hosts as you want for the occasion, and make them drink as much of the bubbly soda as you wish, all for a price, of course — and if someone's stomach starts to hurt, well... that's why they take turns!

HALLWAY

The festivities take part long before you enter either classroom, however...

Outside, you can find little Turing, who's all dressed up and eager to help and provide information about the boths, as well as our lovely Elizabeth, who, on top of making snow cones with her very fearsome persona, is offering quick-and-easy introductions for each maid and host, to make your choice that much simpler! Simply name whoever you're interested in, and you'll get to hear a witty line about them:

"A cute girl with a smile that's sure to heal your heart! The Sheep Among The Wolves, Nene Yashiro!"

Kaede

"There's no one better for a motherly, guiding touch! Our Lady of Passion, Kaede Akamatsu!"

All the background people who are helping with the organizational stuff, as well as cooking, cleaning, etc, can feel free to wear the cat ears, too!

Feel free to mingle, join in as a volunteer host/maid late, get dragged in to do work, leave your posts, whatever else you feel like doing, tbh.

( ah... is this someone she's seen around before? she's not sure, actually. ... it's probably fine. once he's seated, nene leans over to present the menu. )

As you can see, we have a lovely variety of teas, cream sodas and coffees, as well as a chocolate cake, cheesecake, tiramisu and cookies. Mr. Lucifer was also kind enough to provide wonderful dishes as well!

( but do i know what fancy meals that man made with high school home economics room supplies? no. no i do not. )

[ If it weren't for the blue hair and decidedly not Yogen school uniform he wears, he might've blended right into the crowd and never be noticed— he has that air about him that many of the other npcs have: quiet, keeps to himself, very good at not standing out until you're right in front of him.

Talking brings his attention back, at least, but nothing makes Minato's eyes snap up to meet Nene's like that name. ]

Lucifer... what did he make? I'd like to try...

He helped me make some of the larger cakes- they're very rich and delicious!- and then he made some of our more savory foods to contrast our desserts. I think the club sandwich is the best one, though.

( even as she speaks, she'll point out different things for him however- it really feels like the sort of thing you'd see in a real cafe. just how did lucifer do all of that? ... demon magic. )

[ Cakes and sandwiches... It makes him think about his times in cafes, when it was just him and a cup of coffee and the hustle and bustle of the late night. ]

...looks like he's having fun. That's good.

[ Not his Lucifer, he knows that, but it's still good to know some iteration of the demon is out there living a good life. ]

I'll take your recommendation, then. Two club sandwiches.

( how long can she get away without saying it... your maid today is an easily embarrassed girl, minato. but she's happy to go fetch his request! upon her return, nene sets two plates down and... )

[ It's a reaction he's unfortunately familiar with, but he knows better (now) than to comment on it. ]

[ As if she were trying to recall his name but didn't want to guess wrongly. ]

( nene blinks for a moment, and then almost winces, hiding somewhat behind the menu she'd been holding. )

T-that wasn't it, but. It's nice to meet you.

[ Oh, she didn't take the out. It figures he couldn't get away with it, but at least she's not yelling at him for it like he'd expected. ]

Sorry... It's nice to meet you too, though. Nene, right? The Sheep Among The Wolves.

( she didn't even notice the out. she's... she's like that. and if someone brings it up to her, she will be genuinely and completely surprised. )

Oh- yes, that's what they're calling me!

( and since she's moved on a bit from the attempt to actually do the maid job properly, nene gives minato a sweet, friendly smile. is it as healing as advertised? who knows! )

We were supposed to have a maid cafe too, at our cultural festival... but there was a typhoon and it didn't happen. It would've been nice to share that experience with them.

( ah... a typhoon, huh? he sounds so wistful. though... since this is just a fundraiser, it might not have been so dire at the very least. but she's an empathetic sort, and she can't help but feel a little sad too. )

[ It's that word that makes the smile flit back to his face, despite himself, the nostalgia that it carries. ]

[ Not even his demons call him that. He sits up a little straighter so his slouch isn't liable to make him slide off onto the flood, and nods his chin towards the chair across from him. ]

Will my host join me for lunch?

( GENUINE AND COMPLETE SURPRISE THAT HE KNEW ALL ALONG- but it's fine, they're fine, he even said he didn't like it (...basically) and as such their beloved manager can't get upset with her for not using it this time.

instead, she just shakes off the surprise with a small laugh and pulls a chair out for herself. lunch time... )

[ There's that genuine and complete surprise that the conversation keeps getting turned back towards him, but he should have expected that, because this is how he felt when he first transferred to his high school— and his various middle schools and elementary schools. He's always the transfer student... but not this time. ]

Not really... Elizabeth came and brought me here, when it would've been spring break in a couple days.

[ It was graduation day!! please he's already gone through A Year, he doesn't want to spend another ]

[ He'll just be that student with an overactive bladder. The teachers, fake or not, can't condemn him for a medical condition out of his control. ]

Mmm...... maybe? But there's a lot of weird things that happen that they just ignore... or enable and then get out of dodge.

( flour babies... ) So like, when weird things happen I dunno if I really expect them to do anything. It's entirely possible you can just show up and they'll ignore it? ...

Or the Vice Principal might be able to help? I dunno.

[ Oh. Minato looks encouraged by all of this rather than discouraged, because that's exactly what he does too: ignore weird things or enable them and then get the heck away. ]

That makes things easy... I don't particularly want to be a student anyways. It'd be nice to just... do stuff like this.

Ah... I don't think any of us do. But most of us can't leave... most of us can't even get outside the doors. It's... strange. But... people are acting like this is all normal.

[ A weird thing... maybe that's why people pretend he doesn't exist until he approaches. He looks a little surprised, like he never considered not being able to leave the school— he certainly hasn't tried it, when school is where the people are, where Liz is. If it weren't for the uniform, he'd blend right in with the other students acting as if all this were normal. ]

Oh. Umm... I'm from Gekkoukan High, on Port Island. In the Hyogo prefecture.

[ He glances down at the table, trying to think back to what had happened but it's tough. He remembers what happened, but there's little sense of why or how or all the more important things. He remembers a familiar voice, a familiar presence even if he couldn't see, a memory behind locked doors and the key in his hands and the sky breaking apart and he remembers falling.
