WHO? Gardening Club and those who may be interested or visiting!
WHAT? A catch-all and mingle of sorts for the gardening club, though its not necessary to restrict club activity here!
WHEN? Through the month of August!
WHERE? Room 3-E!
WARNINGS? None yet!

and the place got smaller as they grew taller

and taught me to bloom

the flowers of the gardening club seem to be thriving! what with the, um, nutrient-rich water and the abundance of plant food and sunlight, and experienced members there to keep a helpful eye on things for the new gardeners! a pot and a planter seem to have been removed from the room, however- and a small potted tree has joined the group, carefully labeled with a sign requesting it not be touched. nene's own private flowers carry a similar sign on their planter as well. turing's jade plant is unofficially in her care, as is hinata's flytrap until he at least knows it belongs to him. the wisteria tree outside is hauntingly beautiful, and the sky rains ash sometimes. it's fine. they're fine. in a world of turmoil and the occasional week-long disappearance, sometimes you have to stop and make sure the roses are still blooming.

( nene is an earnest club president, that's fore sure. despite the missing flowers and the unusual addition, she's been careful on logging materials and supplies used, weather patterns, and helping in transporting pots to better, natural light when she can. she tries to teach where she can, but lucifer is there to help too which is nice, because even though she's been 16 she doesn't feel any more wiser or capable and she's starting to think growing older is really overhyped.

doesn't change her wish, of course.

still, when someone comes in, she perks up immediately- however much she can, anyways, given the nature of this month- at least one of her brothers is missing and one's forgotten her after all. if it's someone new, she even says: )

Welcome! Would you like to see some of the flowers?

( at some point in the past two months, nene's asked add for something special- and though he bitched, he complied readily. tsundere jerk. but she's keeping him around all the same. but it's for all the club members- even the ones who aren't there, currently. so one evening, with a carefully packed bundle (it's just wrapped in a towel, honestly) nene goes seeking out her... senpai. and eventually, she finds him. )

Sakasaki-senpai? I have something for you...

( he's been considering moving his things back to the club room—things are more or less settled between him and some of the members, and he isn't as ... scared, he'll admit it only to himself, scared of how they'll look at him or deal with him—but for the moment, they remain in their little hideaway above the library, brought out only long enough to get the minimum amount of sunshine and water.

they're surviving, but crawlspaces are no place for people or plants. it's a little claustrophobic, but there's something nice about sleeping where no one can find him...

he's still dirty from crawling around in one, little smudges on his face and his arms, when nene chances upon him exiting the library—he pauses, then rubs the dirt he knows is on his cheek. (it does not help.) )

Hello, Little Lamb ♪ How nice to see YOU... ( but something for him... consider his interest Piqued. ) What is IT? A love letTER? ♪

( even now, despite everything- the lingering hurt- she still blushes and falters for a moment, before pouting almost childishly at his teasing... though the pout quickly fades with a soft smile while she offers him a hand towel instead. she doesn't mind seeing him like this- but he does, and he surely won't want anyone else to see it too. )

No, but I had Add-kun make something for the gardening club- and... you're still a member, aren't you? Even if you're not there. ... I'm the president, so I can make the rules on any activity requirement, actually, so you still are. --Unless you don't want to... but. Anyways- here.

( and now nene offers up the small bundle. inside are little vials of a green substance- liquid plant food, made to be as enriching as possible. )

( she's right, he'd hate for anyone to see him look so unkempt—he's the type of person who cares about his appearances, after all, and he accepts the hand towel gratefully. )

...Thank YOU. ( and he accepts the bundle just as gratefully, tucking the towel into his elbow so he can peer at the gift. oh, this is... ) Just what I needED. My plants are surviVING, but that's about IT.

It should last you a while- it drains slowly, I've noticed.

( though... it's hard to resist offering a place back on their shelf again. he'll... he's doing this for his own peace of mind, and she can't change how safe with others he feels. she can't control what others would do.

If you run out but don't want to bring things back to the clubroom, just let me know, okay? Add-kun's been really helpful about things like this.

( he plays with them idly, then starts to clean the dirt off of him with the towel. hmmmm. )

Truth be TOLD, I was considering bringing them BACK... I've more or less made peace with some of the members THERE. ( or: they talked it out, kind of, and it isn't going to be the same but it can't get worse. ) Would you like to ASSIST, Little Lamb?

( nene immediately perks up- as understandable as everything is, nene is a selfish girl who wants to hold her loved ones as close as possible, no matter how they hurt her. it's kind of a problem. )

WonderFUL. I'll lower them down to you—just place them on the floor and we can split them to carRY.

( ...but first they have to get to his crawlspace, so he'll stop trying to clean himself up and start back towards the library again. )

What else has the club been up TO?

( nene follows, quietly holding out her arms to take the bundle back for right now, to make it easier to carry. he'll be going up in the crawlspace after all, so... the less he has to worry about, the better, right? )

With Turing-san... gone, we've been taking turns caring for their jade plant. Crona-chan's died, but they're trying again. Hiyori-san's been hanging around sometimes, I think he's interested in joining. Have you met him...? He's.... I think he's used to being scared alone, so he doesn't know how to be with people.

( NENE YOU CAN'T JUST READ SOMEONE LIKE THAT WHEN THEY AREN'T EVEN HERE. )

Mostly we've been working on our current plants... we haven't tried anything new yet, but I wanna get past this first period before I try anything too crazy. I'd like to get more planters and maybe some vegetable seeds- like onions or tomatoes?

( he'll hand it off to her once they're in front of the library... which regrettably is still silent time at this point probably, so they won't be able to talk for a hot moment in a bit here. )

I don't think I've met Hiyori-kun, NO. ( hopefully he's not as annoying as the other hiyori he knows. a shame about turing and about crona's plants, but... ) As for vegetable seeds... Either of those sound GOOD, though since we're heading into FALL, I'd suggest onions to START.

He's got a beanie and a scarf, and teal hair. You've probably seen him around at least.

( she nods though, even if she does make a tiiiiny scrunched-up-nose face when she thinks he's not looking. despite her maturing rapidly in this hell, she has some childish tastes it seems. )

Okay, I'll keep that in mind. Should I talk to Ishimaru-kun about club supply requests, or someone else? I- ... ( a pause, as she stares off for a moment, eyes wide. ) Did we get an assigned teacher as an advisor?

( oh, he probably has... but he hasn't spoken with him. he'll fix that. )

I'm sure we DID. ( clubs need one as per club formation rules and they're just assigned handwavey if you don't specify a teacher so waves hand. ) Either them or Ishimaru-kun should be FINE. He's our link to the Student Council, after ALL... On paPER.

Right, I'll talk to him then. He's been really supportive of the club though, and would be ecstatic about vegetables I'm sure, so I bet he'll come through for us.

Um, when we get to the library, how do we wanna do this?

( better to get their plan of action out now then try to flail about in pure silence. )

I'll climb up first and drop them down to YOU. All you'll have to do is catch THEM... They're all still relatively LIGHT, so it should be FINE.

( nene nods, almost puffing up in determination. if she dropped one of the plants, she'd never forgive herself!! )
