WHAT? A catch-all and mingle of sorts for the gardening club, though its not necessary to restrict club activity here!

the flowers of the gardening club seem to be thriving! what with the, um, nutrient-rich water and the abundance of plant food and sunlight, and experienced members there to keep a helpful eye on things for the new gardeners! a pot and a planter seem to have been removed from the room, however- and a small potted tree has joined the group, carefully labeled with a sign requesting it not be touched. nene's own private flowers carry a similar sign on their planter as well. turing's jade plant is unofficially in her care, as is hinata's flytrap until he at least knows it belongs to him. the wisteria tree outside is hauntingly beautiful, and the sky rains ash sometimes. it's fine. they're fine. in a world of turmoil and the occasional week-long disappearance, sometimes you have to stop and make sure the roses are still blooming.

Well, one of them doesn't belong to us- I'm just helping the owner take care of it. It's not polite to touch other people's things without permission, especially with things as delicate as plants.

( as crona tends to a new seed, nene is carefully harvesting some fresh mint! gonna put that in a lemonade or something, it'll be wonderful. as she harvests, however, she's also making sure to cut away some dead leaves. )

The others that shouldn't be touched are for important things, like making medicines. Shinobu-nee is going to teach me how! But before they're ready, we don't want the plants getting hurt. ... If anything happens and you need medicine, please get Shinobu-nee, okay? Or Elizabeth-san or Ishigami-kun. These flowers need to be processed first.

I've never needed medicine ever. Lady Medusa wouldn't have wasted that on me.

[ Their mother wouldn't have wasted any time on her child getting sick that she could have spent on treating them like a lab experiment...and Crona's associations with doctors are pretty bad. So yeah, thank you, but no thank you. ]

I won't touch any plants. Its impolite, right? You said that, so I'll listen, okay? I was just wondering if they could eat me.

They won't eat you, but some of the flowers in the planter will agitate the skin. It's not a pleasant feeling, so please be careful around it- that's another reason I don't want people touching them without permission. Okay? You're being really good!

( after a moment, though, nene offers crona a mint leaf. )

Here! This is safe to eat raw or cooked. We can put it in drinks and stuff, buuuut.. ( she pops one into her own mouth and just, lets the flavor sit for a bit. so fresh, so strong, but soooo good! ~~the mint ruse is a distraction~~ ) It's tasty!

Ooooh. [ They take the leaf, staring at it for a second in their cupped hands and looking frantically back at Nene to make sure she absolutely isn't lying to them. ] I mean, I can try it...promise its not itchy?

[ They don't wait for an answer before they nom it. ]

It's...sort of spicy? [ They lick their finger to try and figure out the source of the taste. Spicy..but kind of cold. Its the only way they know how to describe the feeling the menthol is leaving in their mouth. ] Like toothpaste!

( oh she super should not but also. r o c k s.

nene smiles a bit and pats crona's head lightly. )

It's a common flavor of toothpaste! Isn't it nice and refreshing? I like to put it in drinks, but we can also use the leave to make mint tea!

Is toothpaste edible? I thought you just put it on your teeth...?

[ They scoot a bit closer for more pats. Please, pet them, tell them they're good! ]

It is nice, I've had tea, but I don't know if I've had one that tastes like a leaf... What other drinks can you make with it?

You shouldn't eat it. Swallowing a little shouldn't be too bad, but if you eat it it might make your stomach hurt.

Well, I like to put it in lemonade or lime soda. It makes it really refreshing! It goes well with a lot of fruit drinks, I think, so maybe we can try a few and see if there's a combination you like?

Oh, sorry. Sometimes I just get hungry. [ They nod slowly, face brightening as Nene mentions drinks. ]

I'll probably like anything. Or hate anything. It's kind of hard to say?

[ They like sweet things though, as Nene probably well knows. ]

Strawberry milk! Or boba, but that's broader. Boba can be a lot of types of drink, with little balls of tapioca at the bottom. You can add lots of stuff to it though. But we don't have boba here, so after this meeting, let's go to the vending machine. There's plenty of strawberry milk there!

Neenneeee don't be so nice. I can't deal with it. [ They're gonna cry. Free food... ]

Boba, I've never heard of that. [ They tug on a strand of hair fitfully. ] Lots of little balls in a drink sounds hard to deal with. Like, what if I swallowed too many and I choked and then I couldn't breath and my voice would sound all terrible and squeaky as I died, I wouldn't know how to deal with looking so pathetic as a dead person.

[ They turn to blink over at her after rambling All That. ]

But ok. I think I have enough merit points for that. Milk is nice, sometimes Amami makes me warm milk.

oh, but the small giggles die out at that... uh. scenario. oh goodness. wide-eyed, nene shakes her head. )

No, no, um- the straws are shaped so you only get a few at a time, and if you drink slowly, it gives you time to eat the tapioca. You won't die from it- I wouldn't let you, anyways.

( but yeah, milk, that sounds good. )

Mm, warm milk's really good for sleep problems! I like to mix a bit of honey and cinnamon in it.
