WHAT? A catch-all and mingle of sorts for the gardening club, though its not necessary to restrict club activity here!
WHEN? Through the month of August!
WHERE? Room 3-E!

and the place got smaller as they grew taller

the flowers of the gardening club seem to be thriving! what with the, um, nutrient-rich water and the abundance of plant food and sunlight, and experienced members there to keep a helpful eye on things for the new gardeners! a pot and a planter seem to have been removed from the room, however- and a small potted tree has joined the group, carefully labeled with a sign requesting it not be touched. nene's own private flowers carry a similar sign on their planter as well. turing's jade plant is unofficially in her care, as is hinata's flytrap until he at least knows it belongs to him. the wisteria tree outside is hauntingly beautiful, and the sky rains ash sometimes. it's fine. they're fine. in a world of turmoil and the occasional week-long disappearance, sometimes you have to stop and make sure the roses are still blooming.

[He stops in his tracks, hesitantly looking back over his shoulder. He looks... surprised? Confused? A little of both? Like it never really occurred to him that someone would bring a gift for him, even someone as disgustingly kind as Nene...

He stares like that for an awkwardly long moment, then... looks at the blanket again. then back at Nene. then very ineffectively tries to play it off, scoffing loudly and glancing aside. He's not about to get all sappy here.]

I don't remember asking for a thing like that... what is it you're after?

No one who's gotten one asked for them. ( said bluntly, but not unkindly. ) I don't need anything. It's something that I wanted to do for you, regardless.

( her gifts and talents are all acts of love on some level. ... but add doesn't need to understand that. or even know that. hell, he doesn't even need to accept what is given. but it's there, all the same. )

[He's silent for a long time, eyes still staring fervently at nothing. Doing something without expecting a return, kindness for the sake of kindness... ugh.]

... too soft. People are just going to use you if you act like that. [also said bluntly, but is it unkindly...?] Whatever. If that's how you want to waste your time...

[He doesn't even need to sleep, so what's he supposed to do with a cozy blanket? He scoffs again, picking up the blanket. So dumb. She could've saved those resources for someone who actually needed them, or someone who'd appreciate it. Not him.

... but this is her punishment for thinking of him, so he'll take it anyway. Yeah. That's definitely the reason for it.]

You aren't the first to tell me that... but. I'll still do it. And I'll still have faith in others. Not everyone is like that, after all.

( okay but like the not sleeping part she didn't know, but she still smiles when he does pick it back up, pausing briefly in her work. )
