ethics...club...
Who: the ethics club and whoever wants to crash their party
When: whenever in august!
What: just a mingle post for the disasters
Warnings: uhhh...........well there's a bunch of problematic people here probably, so we'll see how this goes. will update.
The "ethics" club isn't really that well furnished so far. So far, there's only a few things -- things that only Josh is able to access, as well as a dart board, a cheap (and faulty) polygraph machine, and a button maker?
Well, the other members will have to make those. But he does have a certain design for it, if someone was interested in ""helping"" him make the pins...
Otherwise, Joshua's probably usually in here, in classroom 2-D, and he won't turn anyone away. He might warn of anyone coming in of their eccentric group, but he doesn't really mind either way.
But there are papers spread around, not that he really wants to do the work of ensuring that his club stays open, but he figures there's no use in just ignoring it. So there's probably going to be some reports to go through on the papers, or something that could be defined as work.
Loosely.
There's a folder on the desk he'd moved next to the door which holds the topic of the month on it for whoever comes into the room:
good and evil: how do you spot the difference? Do those lines truly exist?
He's very interested in what people would say about it.

past nms did her best for her little minateow-meow, sighs.
( as he says that, he's going to stab minato right through his hand, a good, clean cut with the dagger in order to see the other in pain. most people aren't "okay" once inflicted by pain, so he's uses that to gauge whether the other is okay or not. the other's hand lays against komaeda's mechanical hand, so he uses it to know when the blade should come to a complete stop. if komaeda's not successful, there should be a bucket on top of a medical cabinet near him that'll crash down, smacking the back of his head, that he falls forward on top of the other — so in a way, they'll be laying together, and they'll be shaped more like x marks the spot.
i'll leave that decision up to you, either way, lovely way to meet someone. hey friend. :) )
current nms tho
He doesn't even get the chance to agree or dispute not wanting to be okay, but this sure wakes him up. There's a sharp intake of breath when he feels the pain flash from fingers to toes like lightning, and he closes his eyes.
...
Opens them.
Takes care not to move his hand and tear it open as he turns to face Komaeda. ]
You could've asked... I'd give you the bed.
[ It's okay, he gets it, he may or may not also stab for a nice bed ]
past and current nms are always at war,
with a friendly smile — )
You're doing great.
( but not okay, anyway, as he pulls out the blade, he's quick enough to grab the cover the other is using to stay warm to wrap over his hand. that's to keep any blood from dripping onto the floor, unless they're going to have an adventure there. ) Besides, this is... ethical, especially if I can take care of you after.
( talking about taking care, drugs work best... he'd know since he's been sick as hell, and in pain, and now it's like why has he never had cr with the nurse... but when norton was here, he gave him the rundown of some important things so maybe that'll come in handy. )
no subject
You don't have to...
[ But if Komaeda knows where the bandages and meds are, Minato won't stop him from showing him where they are. Ethical, though... he's not sure this guy knows what that word means. But that's okay too, because ethics sure is a complicated topic. ]
What's ethical?
no subject
( it's an ethic that he's aware of, but a little forced which makes it all the more exciting. i'd have to go back in my inbox to find the nurse's office lore, but we're going to make him check a cabinet first or something. )
Figuring out the best course of action with a patient when they're injured. Whether I leave you to bleed out or not...
( now no one wants komaeda to answer that, really, so he'll pick around until he finds alcohol, and maybe some wraps. that's all he needs, actually, and maybe... ibuprofen, minato's beloved. ) That's how the common man decides everyone's morals, right?
( but komaeda isn't the common man. )
no subject
But yeah, they can find those things easily enough in the cabinets or whatever, while Minato peeks under the fabric clutched in his hand to check if the bleeding's stopped, and then closes his fist again because no it has not. ]
I guess... The common man would say helping is the ethically right thing to do. Unless I'm evil. Or suffering.
[ Which he very well may be! But Komaeda doesn't know that yet. ]
no subject
If you're evil... no it doesn't matter, if you're crippled, it makes the battle unfair and boring, don't you think?
( between hope and despair, they have to know almost the same information, be at the same exact power to actually figure out who wins. that's what komaeda things, how his mind processed during his despair days. )
Besides, using that term lacks any sort of threat, in a way... you're just annoying. As long as you're not filled with despair, then we can see eye to eye.
( says it from him... who is a remnant of despair. fake ass. )
no subject
Despair... no, not anymore. I don't think any battle is boring either, even if it's uneven.
no subject
( that's the only battle that matters. sometimes you just wanna get high off hope, but as soon as he finds the alcohol, and maybe... a needle... with bandages, he'll bring them over to minato. )
..."Not anymore"?
( he opens the bottle as he stares at the other trying to understand his definition of the word. anyway, hand out please! )
no subject
Not anymore. ...There was a time when the world was going to end. 3 months. Inevitably. I watched my team fall apart. Grieving. Suffering. Withdrawing in on themselves, as if all the time we spent together didn't mean anything. They'd given up, and I couldn't stand seeing that... So I...
[ So he... tries to think of a way of explain everything without have to explain anything, and settles on the simplest way he can think to phrase it. ]
So I killed a man, to see them smile again.
no subject
...And did they smile?
( morals. ethics. the proper way of thinking, komaeda doesn't have that. he doesn't know what normalcy is, he doesn't understand that killing isn't the proper way to distribute hope between people, and even if he's told time after time again, it doesn't reach him. so his expression doesn't change, rather, he's waiting.
what was the result to minato's efforts? )
no subject
...They did.
[ There is so much that was wrong with what he had done, but he got to see them smile again, and so his sin was worth committing. ]
They were all able to lift their heads, and move on with their lives.
no subject
To you... that's despair? ( ... ) Hm... to me, it sounds like there were a few dead leaves attached to them, and their stems weak... so they were wilting.
( it doesn't sound out of the ordinary from what komaeda knows, or how he thinks. )
Plucking a few dead leaves caused their hope to regrow back into place, strengthening their foundation so that they could stand tall with you once more. ( he nods, there's been many people komaeda has killed for the sake of hope... but MINATO KILLED RYOJI I JUST LEARNED SOME LORE I'M SOOOO SADDDDDDDD. ) Ahaha, you're pretty confusing, you know?
no subject
I too would avoid Minato who stares at Komaeda and nods along, because yes, those sure are opinions and who is he to say opinions are right or wrong? ]
What's confusing...?
no subject
( he sighs wistfully, leaning to the side so that their shoulders brush together in delight.
sighs, it's okay, komaeda will hype you up bc he's crazy like that. )
That person was just a stepping stone, and they worked perfectly in pruning the despair. Don't let anyone tell you otherwise.
no subject
[ Even if that something was murder. Nobody would remember, not even him, which is a terrible excuse but the fact of the matter is, all he had to do to bring back happiness was to give somebody what they asked of him, and he never turns somebody down when they ask. ]
NOT MINATOS RETURN..........ARC
( and through the acts of murder, komaeda can't help but grab minato's wounded hand, holding it tightly. )
How did you do it, what was your method... how much blood was there... did you smile for their hope?
( tell him! he's excited... to learn his hope! )
no subject
Uh... I shot myself, and then... [ uh ] He doesn't bleed. And I wasn't smiling.
no subject
You sacrificed yourself to give them hope...? ...admirable! I wish I could have seen it for myself...
( he's trying to put everything together, and now he's curious... if they didn't bleed, then what did they do... )
Was it painful? Is that why you didn't smile... You can smile now, you can be happy about your timely demise.
no subject
[ He wasn't frowning when he did it. Didn't feel like crying. Just sort of numb, if he thinks back on it, like he'd resolved himself to do something and was just going through the motions because otherwise he couldn't make it work. ]
And I'm not dead. Not yet.
no subject
( now he'll let go of minato's hand, but he'll raise his semi-bloody palms up onto the male's cheeks, pulling so the corner of his lips raise into a forced smile. not the best smile, but it'll do right? komaeda can only mimic what's been done to him, and how many people have touched his face? too many. )
What are you living for? ( he cants his head to the side, trying to figure out if the smile suits him from another angle. )
no subject
I did everything for my friends... I want to be here so I can watch them live happy lives.
[ Which he can't do here, but. ... There's no real desire to go home, if he's being honest. He did what he could, and all that's left is to trust his friends will be okay. ]
no subject
Are your friends here?
( to watch over them, a lot of people would like that, but would they be selfish to wish them to a place like this? a school that has majority of the school trapped, tampering with their minds. )
Hm... in the end, when it comes to hope, you don't need friends.
( ... ) No one's lonely when they have that, and they'll be able to live successful lives, even if trapped in this place.
