ethics...club...
Who: the ethics club and whoever wants to crash their party
When: whenever in august!
What: just a mingle post for the disasters
Warnings: uhhh...........well there's a bunch of problematic people here probably, so we'll see how this goes. will update.
The "ethics" club isn't really that well furnished so far. So far, there's only a few things -- things that only Josh is able to access, as well as a dart board, a cheap (and faulty) polygraph machine, and a button maker?
Well, the other members will have to make those. But he does have a certain design for it, if someone was interested in ""helping"" him make the pins...
Otherwise, Joshua's probably usually in here, in classroom 2-D, and he won't turn anyone away. He might warn of anyone coming in of their eccentric group, but he doesn't really mind either way.
But there are papers spread around, not that he really wants to do the work of ensuring that his club stays open, but he figures there's no use in just ignoring it. So there's probably going to be some reports to go through on the papers, or something that could be defined as work.
Loosely.
There's a folder on the desk he'd moved next to the door which holds the topic of the month on it for whoever comes into the room:
good and evil: how do you spot the difference? Do those lines truly exist?
He's very interested in what people would say about it.

( komaeda can't deny his own feelings, the fact that he misses that person dearly — he should be happy with what he has, though. even if he's not the same, he's still that person outside of the shell of the body that he has as of now.
he doesn't know who josh could be referring to, and he doesn't know if that person is as close as hinata happens to be. it takes komaeda approximately a short distance to reach him, but how far away is the individual in josh's mind. )
You're lucky too, Kiryu-kun, it may not be much... but I hope you can see things through to the end with me.
( he's resourceful, and he's smart... and komaeda doesn't know how to ask for friendship without sounding odd about it. he leans forward, reaching for a sheet of paper on the desk, and he plucks a pencil out of his pocket. )
I want to remain with you in that concept of good, so why not show it to each other while we have the chance... our meeting was a once in a lifetime.
( this school has given them an opportunity that even komaeda wouldn't have thought of, that someone like josh pull exist and listen to his ramblings.
komaeda'll never meet another person like him, and he knows that. )

Joshua is so not used to people being like this. wanting him around. the only one who did (besides mr. h, he doesn't count), was Neku.
"see you there?"
it's not exactly the same wording, but it's close enough. Komaeda actually wants Joshua to be here with him. even if they're both twisted and fucked up, it's almost sort of comforting.
even someone like him could have people who want him around.
he shows none of this on his expression, instead moving to the table and sitting on it as he looks down at Komaeda's pencil and paper. instead of showing all the turmoil he's feeling on the inside, he just puts on his classic smirk, running his hand through his hair as if nothing was wrong.]
As if I have any intention of being beaten by this place. It's up to you on whether you make it to the end with me or not.
[he's always...the last one standing...
he nods at the paper now.]
You look as if you're about to start writing a blood pact out for us.

...
komaeda knows how lucky and unlucky he is, how the people around him drop like flies constantly because he isn't meant to be with then.
...
for josh too, he shouldn't be around him either, no matter how amazing the prospect of getting to the end sounds... he's never really made it, he was always last if so... )
Use it to your advantage.
( he laughs, leaning back in his chair with a small smile, looking up at joshua with a cant of his head. ) Everyone believes this place has powers over us, but... some don't understand they have the will to act, and to not... it's pretty fun when they can decide on their own terms.
( at hearing the blood pact, komaeda glances at the palm of his organic hand, and he remembers the last time he shared something like that. someone here almost died, and so he closes his hand, and he nods, sighing softly as if dejected. )
I'm no good at them, I'd rather see someone else's than my own... ~

fascinating and a little sad.
he's not going to think too hard about how he relates to that a little too much.]
People tend to give up too easily. My favorites are the ones who try to overcome it all, even if they can't.
[sometimes they just can't but...yanno.]
I'd just rather avoid the blood.

( he sighs, his eyes lift to look at the other people within ethics, and every one of them are individuals who puts others in that position than being the ones in it. )
Everyone here won't fail to impress, but most have trouble utilizing hope, and that worries me as well...
( but that doesn't mean they won't prove him wrong, and despite how tired he sounds, there's a smile on his face that betrays his true feelings. )
There's no need to bleed for anyone if you run a club... how this will go, at the end of the school year... you should repeat the question to see how you helped them in their search to understand the difference between one and the other.
( somehow this is about josh now. )

Fear is the bane of mankind, is it not?
[it made things boring -- sometimes it made things more interesting, but in cases like this...not so much.
but then Komaeda switches subjects, and Josh considers for a moment before giving him a brief nod.]
That'd be interesting to see the difference. I wonder how many would even be here by the end of the school year?
[listen, he's just going to nyoom past talking about himself.]
no subject
It depends, will you be here?
( does he want to be here by the end of the school year, does he want to avoid it, there's a lot riding on whether they can make it or not, and so far, komaeda's been here since the start. josh is relatively new, so one has more intel than the other, but with the way his twin plays the field — he's able to observe and learn, so he doesn't doubt the other catching up anytime soon. )
I could answer that on my own, though... how many tallies do you have?
no subject
he shrugs now.]
I'd like to be. Even if I already have a job back at home...
[being a god and all that, but that's just details.]
I have seven so far. One gained since I've been here.
no subject
( seven so far, one gained since he's been here. )
The same amount of power between the both of us when it comes to tallies, but... is your job back home, how much power does it offer you?
no subject
[why are they Literally Twins
Josh pauses, considering on whether he should tell Komaeda anything. not that he really cares, since there seems to be people from all kinds of places here. but he also doesn't know the ramifications if people knew what he used to be able to do.
he's just. naturally pretty suspicious. but in that same vein, at least he can control the information that's said about him, unlike if it got wrenched out of him in another way.]
Hmm... [he tilts his head.] I could bring a city to its knees if I wanted to, without a second thought. I suppose you could say I'm a...protector of Shibuya.
[lmao]
no subject
( hearing that he could bring a city to it's knees, a shibuya of all places has a pretty high population, while also being a frequent tourist spot because of what they have to offer. )
The high population of a place like that, and to hear you govern them like some sort of guardian...
( little does komaeda know he's not too far off, but it's interesting. )
An angel, but why... what would be your first thought to wiping them away just like that. Is it all because of your whim? That you're tired of them?
no subject
[he really hates it too. he'd probably be able to do whatever he wanted here, be whoever he wanted...
but he's just Some Guy right now. it sucks.]
It's not my first thought. I wanted to see change, and it wasn't happening...so I gave them a test. To see if they could change my mind.
[among other things. the fact that he had also been looking for someone who could look after Shibuya in his absence...]
no subject
( interesting to have that power, to... see if people as a group could change something, and if it fit his ideals.
...
whether it was for the good or the better, komaeda won't know because he doesn't ask. )
It's not a hard question, I promise.
no subject
Hard question or not, I'm here to answer whatever you have for me.
[now he is...hella curious on what Komaeda wants from him now.]
no subject
( there's only so many students, but it shouldn't be hard if josh has had control over a population of that size. )
If your assistance could also move them, I think you should look at them the same way you did the group you watched over.
no subject
[he does...have some sort of fondness towards some of the people here, but he's never going to admit that.
ever.]
Mostly, I'm lacking in subordinates. I need one who is directly underneath me to carry out my wishes...a "Conductor" as they're called. Below them are various people that would help reinforce what me and my second-in-command would put into play...or "Reapers". This club is a bit of a testing ground, you see.
[is he finally admitting what the Ethics Club is actually for lmao]
