April mini-event

On Tuesday, after classes are long over and clubs just about wrapping up, those studying inside the library may notice black smoke start to fill the room. With the lack of sound, the library relies on flashing strobe lights to alert students of an emergency and the librarian with her piercing stare and domineering presence to order students to pack and leave IMMEDIATELY. The longer one lingers inside the library, the greater the sense of dread builds inside of them until they're unable to resist the student council members who have come to escort the last of the stragglers out, physically if need be.
Outside of the library, gathering students speculate about what happened, whether there was a fire, what were they planning to burn, maybe they were trying to get back at the librarian— who looks positively livid, by the way, and maybe staying clear of the library for several days until she cools off isn't a bad idea, although students will have no choice as the student council members standing guard at the door prevent anybody from reentering the library until it is deemed safe.
The library is closed for the rest of the week, and a sign on the door states that it will reopen on Monday the 19th.

Around half an hour after midnight, those sleeping on the third floor in or near the second year classrooms may feel the ground shudder beneath them. They, uh, may actually want to relocate very soon, because water bursts out of the bathroom and floods the entire floor with very cold, light pink water.
Is that a finger floating down the hall? Yeah... yeah.
By the time the first of the faculty arrives at six in the morning, the entire third floor is flooded, and water has traveled down the stairwell to the lower floors as well, although there isn't as much water as one would think, as if something more is blocking the pipes and preventing all the water from rushing out of the burst pipe at once. The water is shut off for the rest of the day so repairs can be done and the floors mopped down and dried, with the second and third years relocated to the club rooms and auditorium for classes, and the bathroom by 2-D is closed for repairs until Monday the 19th.
When the water is turned on again at the end of the day, it is still very very faintly tinged pink.

Considering that it's the middle of the night and most people, if they need to sleep, are doing so, it may be a while before anybody wanders into the auditorium. When they do, they're stricken with a bout of vertigo that passes almost as soon as it starts, and they may notice a body on the ground in front of the largest glass case in the back of the room. As in, the body inside the case is still there, and now there is a second body lying on the ground in front of it in a pool of dark red blood. A charming little note has been stuck to the front of the body's uniform, and a fluffy white cat runs out of the room while a skinny black cat peers at whoever is there from behind the large glass case.
Whether the people who initially discover the body decide to look for clues first or go wake and gather everybody to bring to the auditorium, they should be aware that the other students and faculty will be arriving in just a little over two hours. What are y'all going to do!!! You tell me.

Whether the body is left or moved, though, a missing student quickly becomes obvious, and the assistant principal orders a school assembly in the auditorium on Monday the 19th, looking very pale and slightly sick, which may or may not be due to the presence of a ...very realistic """doll""" on display in a glass case behind her. She announces that the student council president has passed away, and that students who report information regarding the situation to the faculty will receive merit points for their assistance, and whoever can provide indisputable proof of what happened and who was involved will receive 300 merit points, enough to put them well above even the best of students.
She also brings up the destruction in the library the other day, and how the pipes had burst overnight, and how the ceiling tiles seem to have been falling in places and have led the janitor to discover rats in the walls. Since the school will be closed over spring break, she will be having repairmen do extensive repairs on the school, including a very thorough fumigation to ensure no rats or bugs or anything of the sort left inside the school will come out of spring break alive.
Be good! Be safe! You are all dismissed.

OOC
- ✽ Please note that silence is strictly enforced in the library at all hours, and in the rest of the school from midnight to 6 AM. Although the library and the bathroom by 2-D are closed until the 19th, the doors are not locked and both rooms are accessible for investigation when the npcs are not present.
- ✽
- ✽ Please use the toplevels below for investigations, and the post itself to discuss amongst yourselves who the culprit may be. There is no deadline for solving this murder, but the solution will net 300 points to one character who reports it to the faculty and will guarantee you the winning bid on the body in the glass case.

[ And
for our 22nd threadwe're gonna say Saihara was still in the auditorium, talking to some of his classmates and trying to gauge their opinion on what just happened, when... no light shines down from above and instead of God there's only Komaeda's voice. Giving him a personal shoutout, as if the rest of what he has to say wasn't concerning enough on its own already.AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
Classmates immediately forgotten, thanks Komaeda. Thanks Komaeda!!!
He's gonna bolt right out of the auditorium in a hurry, go emo boy go, use those 50 to 100 push-ups you supposedly did every night for like three chapters, and make his way up the stairs to the easy crawlspace entrance he already knows in the art room. If there are any club members in there who will think he's just as weird as Komaeda? That's a problem for future Saihara but for now he's getting in there as if his life depends on it, and then crawling as fast as he can on the way to the space above the auditorium.
Sure, Komaeda's probably yelled at like 20 more people by now, but anyway, at some point finally a second voice can be heard from up there, more muffled by being further away from the opening, and also a LOT more panicked, thank you. ]
Stop it...! Komaeda-kun, what in the world are you doing...!?

hell, there's even this undiscernible feeling that swells up in his chest when saihara makes his way up into the crawlspaces to meet with him — it's almost like rapunzel, but let out your confession of hope so the other can climb up! he's more focused on the the excitement that courses through his body over the fact that there's some way he can be used towards hope, used to help an ultimate. he hasn't had this feeling in quite awhile that it sends a shiver down his spine! )
You even came to meet something as deplorable as me! ( let him look to the side like a damsel in distress, hugging himself because he knows saihara won't. ) So you feel it too, despite my shortcomings.. it really is hope that has drawn us together!
( the sparkle in his eyes meets with the concern in saihara's own, and it's more than enough to make him admit his thoughts. ) I'm doing you... ah, excuse me.. I'm doing this for you. Observing you, I've never felt such greater hope.. I want to do everything, even if it means to help our mystery friend. ( he removes his arms off himself and replaces them by grabbing one of saihara's hands, and while komaeda's palm is sticky.. at least the other is cold metal. )
Let me assist their hope and yours, Ultimate Detective!

You can really hear it in the ungraceful yelp he lets out when he's grabbed. ]
Ah, h-hey...! Cut it o--
[ --ut, but Saihara's voice fades out towards the end, while all the things he's registered but not processed yet due to how ridiculous they are kind of just catch up with him. Wait, let him go ahead and use this chance to... kind of scoot backwards through the crawlspace, hopefully dragging Komaeda away from the opening with him. What was initially a very how do I pull my hand back faster fight or flight response gets turned into a mutual hold for the greater good.
Okay. If this is what it takes to get him down from here, fine, he'll hold hands with Komaeda. ]
Look. None of what you're doing... makes any sense!? How would you help us by helping the murderer?
[ Because you know, the first rule of thumb when there's something you don't understand is to ask. Even if that something is Komaeda and you're trying to distract him so he'll keep following you out of here, and you feel like you're about to regret everything you just did. And possibly your whole life, that too. ]

Have you seen everyone? ( this isn't answer to be answered, he's practically talking to himself. ) We're watching the same people, aren't we? Though I'm beneath you..
( he knows that where he watches everyone is through blurred vision, compared to the clear view that the detective — ultimate detective — has. he knows his place, what he's meant to do, and he's never been able to leave that behind. it's about that said talent that's speaking to him, and without realizing, komaeda's hold tightens only slightly as he hears another voice from below. how laughable, komaeda? hurt another ultimate? if anything.. they should hurt him, because it's deserved. luckily for ouma, komaeda can only laugh as his eyes slowly raise to meet with saihara's. they spin hypnotically, unpleasant to see with these crude mixture of despair and hope, but he's able to respond to the detective. )
They're all working together, enabling your talents, their hopes fueling your hope! Don't you think this is wonderful!?
( he's not changing his mind, but his voice lowers as he keeps their conversation between them. )
With you getting the chance to do this.. and attempting to handle the situation flawlessly. I want your hope to grow even brighter since something as beautiful as it shouldn't go unseen. I'm useless, but if I can do this one thing for everyone's hope, why should I let this chance slip me by!? I'd die for it.
tags the gayest one first bc i can
Sorry, he didn't think it would be necessary for a gathering in the brightly lit auditorium that wasn't supposed to have a follow-up like this. ]
...Nobody needs you to die? Everyone's... only working together because they're scared, Komaeda-kun. They're not doing it for the kind of reasons you--
[ He ends up glancing backwards as he speaks, and in the meager light that still filters in through the open tile that leads below, the expression on Komaeda's face before bing enveloped by the shadows further in... strikes him as a little odd. Did he look like this when they'd spoken before...? It's like he's barely paying attention to Saihara himself, or like he's looking... at something beyond. But there's nothing behind him, considering that's where he'd just been checking to see the path. ]
Ah... But if you're serious about wanting to do something for me, then... I need you to close your eyes.
[ Hold on. He has some kind of an idea, maybe. ]
i think youre literally evil actually
It's disappointing to hear that from you, especially when you've been doing so well. Trash like me is able to watch your talent, and that in itself is a delight when we're surrounded by an ordinary bunch who know nothing and yet... ( he pauses, slightly overwhelmed as he stops moving on his end, staying in place as he watches shuichi — waiting, biding his time. ) they're trying, so I do wonder what hope they'll bring... it'll be nothing like yours, though.
( of course, he doesn't expect saihara to reply to answer of his ramblings, really. )
Saihara-kun ( his name comes out slow, breathy as per usual as komaeda calls for his attention, but it's not like he' been talking to him directly, rather just at him), we truly are blessed to see how radiant your light will shine to everyone, even now... ( he pauses his own personal rambling from the loud thumping in his ears, that must be his own heart considering the position he's in. his only set back happens to be... wait... did he say for komaeda to close his eyes? )
...
( he blinks slow... the fingers connected to saihara's own twitch only briefly, but he exhales after and closes his eyes as requested. )
If your hope is the last thing I see...

Kokichi's stunned enough by the nonsense being spewed from up in the ceiling crawlspace that he almost misses the sight of Shuichi sprinting out of the room. Almost. He does notice, of course, and there's a part of him that wonders why, but the lunatic shouting his intent to help a murderer kill people is a bit more pressing a concern at the moment. Not that Kokichi needs to talk him down – everyone else yelling at him has that covered already.
At least, that's up until there's a second familiar voice drifting down from up there, and Kokichi's stomach sinks. Is Shuichi insane? Did the second murderschool tip him over the edge? Because the sane thing to do right now is definitely not "approach the lunatic in an isolated location".
Kokichi grimaces, but then he's quick to plaster on a smirk, shouting back up at Komaeda through the ceiling hole with way more levity than he's actually feeling right now.
Jeez, if you're gonna kill someone, at least don't just shank the first person you see! That'd be sooo boring!!
[That's Kokichi-speak for "please don't kill Shuichi oh my god".]

Is he trying to help...? Saihara's got almost no free brain cells and his hands are full (literally) in-between everything that Komaeda is, but he's at least gonna recognize that all-too familiar voice from below. He'll have time to overthink it later... but for now, he has little choice but to leave it unanswered since it's not like he can do much. It's not like Komaeda's looking to kill him in the first place, he's just gonna hope that becomes apparent on its own.
Good thing he doesn't have any favors to ask of Ouma during lunch break later today or anything. ]
