September mini-event pt 2

It's early Friday morning, the silence lifted but still a while before npc students will start coming to school. The door to the student store remains locked, despite always being propped open by a doorstop first thing in the morning, like clockwork. In the pool building, the lights automatically switch on for the day, illuminating the water below.

A large black shape floats in the middle of the pool, air trapped in the fabric wrapped and tangled around it.

There doesn't appear to be anything in his textbooks out of the ordinary. His latest homework assignments have been tucked into their respective books, but it doesn't look like he's started on anything that's been assigned since Monday. His notebooks contain normal notes and class work from the start of the second semester, and it doesn't look like he's been struggling with his classes at all. At the very back of one of the notebooks are a few pages that contain several lines of the same words and sentences over and over again, written in very wobbly and awkward handwriting that gradually becomes more similar to Clamor's usual handwriting.

There aren't any love letters, but hidden under all of Clamor's books is a loose sheet of paper where he's copied down "Vegan Alfredo for Two" and a vegan cheese recipe.

If he checks the cardboard box again, he'll notice that the fruit snacks are unopened and the juice boxes are grape and apple flavored. The rest of the beef jerky he put back is also still there. There's nothing else of note in the box, besides cold air.

The occult club supplies aren't missing anything that hasn't already been noted when class 1-C and Lucifer's locker was searched, so it doesn't look like anyone's been using any of the rarer materials without asking.

There's a lot of dust on the broken PDA that suggests it hasn't been touched in a few months. The horse puzzle and carnelian are also looking very dusty and neglected.

He can also find a few pens and pencils, chalk nubs, a stack of unused sticky notes, a couple spare ribbon bookmarks, and at the very, VERY bottom of the locker there's a broken smoke detector that looks like it was ripped out of a ceiling tile, pried open, and then hidden here because he was too embarrassed to bring it back and then forgot about it.

Right, so, the back of that notebook... hm. Interesting. Can Noah recognize that handwriting as similar to what was in the spellbook? He has it on him because of Shuichi and there's no way he's leaving it behind, if he compares and contrasts the mystery writings in the spellbook with what's in the notebook that seems to be copying Clamor's writing, does it look similar?

Broken smoke detector, huh... why rip that out of the ceiling. Noah will take that too and go try to find where there's an obvious ceiling-hole. Probably a classroom? Gonna start with Clamor's homeroom and just systematically go through each classroom looking for where this could go, after he compares the handwriting of course.

The handwriting in the notebook doesn't match the one in the spellbook. The one in the notebook that seems to be copying Clamor's handwriting is also not 100% perfect even towards the end, but it's that imperfect handwriting that shows up on the pages with the hexes, with the sleeping hex and list of herbs

Noah walks around the school but there is no obvious ceiling hole in any of the classrooms, or club rooms, or ??hallways idk wherever you're supposed to slap a smoke detector on the roof, there's none that appear to be missing

stares at the imperfect handwriting. okay. suspicious. what the fuck's been going on, alright, putting that on the backburner for later

so anyway wrt the smoke detector discord just yelled at me when i went to ask for ideas as to where this could go that this was from the april murder and i'm fucking sobbing noah would have no idea about that... ugly laughs. anyway rina said shuichi would tell him and to handwave it so let's just leave that note there : )
