( after leaving the nurses' office, komaeda-arata is sent on a mission to fetch muffins from the vending machine. in hand, he has amami's pda which he's supposed to be using to purchase food, but part of him wonder if he even has the merit points considering he rarely attends class. ah, it's probably bad to think about his ultimate that way, so he taps at the screen as he stands in front of the vending machine contemplating his decisions...
until. he notices that amami's little keychain is missing, he didn't think much when he was gifted the pda, but now... that's a little odd — he knows how amami is about npc-kun, so he doubts amami would be the type to lose something so important.
well, time to utilize his good samaritans of the school. )
un: n.komaeda
has anyone seen a keychain with lots of eyes? it belongs to amami-kun, and it's missing off his pda. also clamor-san is missing his pda, he won't make a fuss if you have it, but please return it to ebalon-kun.

normal again. )
His answers have been short, and he's quick to irritation depending on what you ask him.
I wouldn't worry so much, he is an Ultimate after all, but I did notice his right hand is bandaged, and that seems pretty recent...
He's tucked away with the shopkeeper on the same bed, but I wasn't aware a nurse would give one a place to stay with such minor injuries.

Ah... it's possible he may have been in worse condition before...?
[ that's one reason he can think of why the nurse would let him stay there. or maybe... ]
Or if something happened to the shopkeeper, Amami-kun might have just been the person who brought them there. He seems like the type who'd take care of someone until the end... But I'm glad if they're both alright.
Did Amami-kun mention where he last saw the charm?
If you're going to search for a lost item, that's probably one of the first things you should ask...

That's highly possible, from what I saw, what warrants a bed for such a small amount of scrapes?
Though, the shopkeeper did have a scar on their forehead, but it wasn't wrapped... so I doubt there's head trauma.
( give him a moment, and he can't help but smile at the pda himself. ultimates coming together, believing in one another, it makes his heart skip a beat. )
He's been staying around the shopkeeper for awhile now, it seems as if they're... drawn to each other. I recall he mentioned that they were fine "now," but I do wonder why he won't tell us the specifics...
Oh well! What does scum like me know.
...Ahaha, you're correct, I could have asked, but isn't it fun this way? A scavenger hunt!
( he just wanted some way to get information out, but he can't say that now can he? )

Ah... if you think my deduction was correct, he might just be acting considerate, right?
I probably... wouldn't want to talk about something that happened to someone else without their approval, either.
Not without an important reason, like if it could put someone else in danger.
Did the shopkeeper say anything?
[ me crying bc i had to check and komaeda didn't mention they were unconscious... help ]

saiahara kun
as the utltimate etective anhthing you say is right
we belieb in yoru rrtalent
( he feels as if his heart is going to explode, he thinks so highly of what the ultimate detective does and thinks, so to engage with him on this matter makes a shudder roll down his back. ah, he's going to...
ah...
ah...
and he's quick to place the other pda on top of his own, covering his text so that he doesn't have to read what was said — if he can get saihara out his mind, then he could calm down. he wonders what expression the other wrote while typing that, and his own fixation makes his face hot, the warm feeling of saliva trickles from the corner of komaeda's mouth as it hits the pda's screen. one drip after the other, a long string of drool just pooling onto it, running along the curve of the device —
...
...
he takes a deep breath, trying to gather his bearings as he parts his mouth, licking at the corner of his mouth to cut off the string of saliva that's drizzled itself on the pda; like art. )
...
( removing the pda to see his once again, he does his best with shaky fingers to delete what he wrote. )

...You're different, as the Ultimate Detective, you could speak with him, and tell me your conclusion first hand...
( if only he could use his hand right now... to wipe away the slob on his face that is! )
A conversationalist like you would have an easier time...
Ahaha, there's not much that can be said when you're unconscious...
Wouldn't it be important to pass on as much information as you can rather than be guarded?
...I wonder if he blames himself.
( help girl i was in the water and i'm laughing. )

but anyway, moving on since komaeda didn't actually send that stuff, thank the lord ]
2/3 actually, i lied
No, I suppose you might be right. Whatever happened, that could be part of it.
But then all the more, just like I thought, there might be reasons Amami-kun isn't saying more.
You said it yourself that the shopkeeper is someone he's grown close to, right?
It might... be something of such a nature that he's being mindful of their feelings.
ok 3/3
right. there's probably... a reason komaeda's telling him all of this regardless though, right? there was a lot of detail he disclosed, after all. he does understand that too... so he hurriedly types a second message: ]
...Thank you, Komaeda-kun.
I'll think about some things a bit longer...
And, um, if you haven't found it by then... I'll help you look for the charm a little later.

another incoming message, and his eyes glance down towards the floor, embarrassed like he can't meet eye to screen because there's no reason for him to do anything like that. what's that feeling when you don't know how to respond because it's nice to read that, but also because he's so undeserving, he doesn't want saihara to waste his words. )
I trust your intuition, Saihara-kun, and even now... I'll hear you out without complaint.
It's that genuine understanding that you give to all sides that makes me feel hopeful...
I shouldn't expect anything less from the Ultimate Detective!
...If you need someone to listen, I hope I can be of use to you.
Though, please allow me to assist you, I want to protect Amami-kun and the shopkeeper's hope, too.
And if you were there with him as well, maybe he can feel at ease with your presence...
( he wants to tag along, not only does it ease him too, he wants to do what he can for an ultimate? two ultimates? npc-kun... )
1/2 (again)
his priorities are off, that's still true, but it doesn't... change the fact that he's someone who believes in them. or if shuichi's allowed to think selfishly for a second... in him.
it does help, just a little, and he... sits on this message a little bit before writing it. ]
It's alright.
You were already helpful, I did say that, right? And I do feel grateful.
I'm nothing as special as you make it sound, but... if I can be of even a little help to Amami-kun, it would still make me happy.
But you're wrong about one thing. I'm not just doing this because I'm the Ultimate Detective.
I also want to do it as Amami-kun's friend. And... for you and for everyone else here who trusts me, too.
There might not be a lot I can do, but I'll try my best.
2/2
Sorry.
This is the network, so... it's a little embarrassing. I'll talk to you later.
[ he's going dead silent after, goodbye ]
