Yogen and You: A Quick Summary
Held by Natsume Sakasaki
For those who need a summary of events, whether because our meetings rarely get anything done in terms of information sharing or because you're freshly awakened. Come around dinner time for food, enlightenment, and the opportunity to share your troubles with those going through the same thing.
The room will be locked all day until about half an hour before six, at which point it will become unlocked... this is primarily for Natsume to set up a table of food, but people can come sit in early if they like. There's an overhead projector that's been wheeled into the study hall all the way from school, and the curtains are drawn over the windows. It isn't dark though, since he still has the lights turned on...
Several tables have been pushed together to make at least three groups, chairs around them like they've been readied for a dinner party, while a few more are pushed a little further back and have absolutely no chairs whatsoever; those are for the food. There's also a chair by the overhead projector.
Your food and drink for tonight: lemon and rosemary roasted shrimp, white rice, rosemary and thyme chicken, a make-your-own-salad area with all kinds of salad-making ingredients, three types of eggrolls (seafood, vegetable, and pork), and various drinks from the vending machine because some of us can afford to spend a bunch of merit points on things like that.
When a sufficient amount of people have come in, or the clock hits 6:05, Natsume shuts the door, turns off the lights, and moves to the overhead projector. To stand on the chair, so he's the tallest person in here, and claps his hands to get people's attention. )
Save all questions and outbursts until the END, ( he says, and then kneels down on the chair and flicks the projector on.
All of the slides are pre-written on some transparent sheets that project onto a wall without windows, which he reads one by one without rushing! But for ease of reading OOCly, you can find the entire thing here. There's also photocopied handouts for people on all of the tables, stapled of course, so people who aren't blind (sorry Helena) can follow along at home!
He lets the last sheet stay up, his face half-illuminated by the overhead projector, then sits down in the chair and leans forward the back of it like some kind of delinquent. )
Alright, you can speak NOW.
( ooc notes: go ahead and treat this like one of our meetings, aka mingle, jump around, actually get a chance to share information that hasn't been talked about yet, etc. thank you plenty to enh and peace too for reviewing and suggesting things for the presentation \o/ )

Ishimaru continues to look heated, as Komaeda's response is technically right in some ways. He grits his teeth, but then manages to calm down enough to speak.]
When you say it like that... It sounds like it makes sense. To- to move on from something like that... could be a step forward. [He pauses.] I still do not agree with much of what you say!
...B-but I know. I know that I should move forward and... shine a brighter path for us all. A shining hope... without further death.
no subject
Your death was needed for that, to give you the idea that you're capable... Ishimaru-kun, you shouldn't be sad over the fact... because then you'll be trapped in place.
( it's hearing hope that his heart skips a beat, an itching feeling that he equates to love as he watches the other. trained eyes watching the other's every move, and he smiles behind his covered mouth. he hums in thought, contemplating his next response, and then... )
Hope can live on through death! You being able to do something that transcends life... look how influential stepping stones can be!
no subject
Now the rage swells up again, and he finds himself raising a fist in a threat.]
I will never accept the idea of my death being 'needed' or being a 'stepping stone'! I... I always believed in my own capabilities. And I am still willing to move forward... t-to have hope. But it is not your perverted perception of hope!
no subject
( believe in his capabilities, because if that was the case... )
Why did you cry when you learned? If you believed in yourself, something as easy as death could have been accepted, and yet... you wanted me to explain. In the end, none of that should have mattered...
( his expression is neutral this time as he watches the other, and his eyes close right after. )
Naegi Makoto-kun thwarted despair thanks to your death... you should be grateful that your role as a stepping stone allowed him to move forward as Ultimate Hope. You're shaming him with the way you speak.
no subject
[The tears, they are still coming. But now it's anger mixed with sorrow.]
I cry because death is a tragedy! There- there is nothing easy about it. I had a whole life... so many things I hoped to accomplish! Can you begin to understand if I phrase it in terms of hope?! Of course I wanted details, especially with the news imparted by this meeting... even if it had to come from someone like you!
no subject
( he won't argue about this, and for a moment he even glares at ishimaru to prove that he's wrong, but then he remembers who he's talking to, and he holds back. )
Someone who is Ultimate Hope can hold more than one title, it's even possible to have every talent in existence... you wouldn't know, you didn't live long enough to witness Naegi Makoto-kun's glory days...
( he realizes this is like talking to an insufferable child, but he tries to be patient. )
Death isn't a tragedy, when they took your death as a stepping stone, so much was accomplished! With or without you, but... that doesn't mean your efforts hasn't made a light shine here, you've managed to make people see you differently because you are a Symbol of Hope! Someone that's meant to lead and guide... because you died there, don't you want to give it your all, and live your hope even more here? Crying over your previous death means nothing.
no subject
[Every talent in existence? That really seems like pushing it when he thinks of Makoto, who seemed like such an average young man.]
It... it means something because my previous life did mean something! Calling things a 'stepping stone', it just makes me feel like some kind of object! Like my life was just some sort of a play! S-sure, I am glad if my comrades were able to move on without me, but it would have been even better if we all could have been alive to move forward together! I... I do want to give it my all and work hard here. That just does not mean I will accept my death un-under your sick terms!
no subject
( ah, perhaps that's where he should help in explaining, the other died too soon to know the truth of anything, and here's komaeda with as much intel as was given to him per monokuma. not only that, he has the days before the simulation, how he was unlucky enough to miss the destruction of despair within the school when it was broadcasted all over the world, and even now he's a little saddened by that fact. he wonders what sort of expression he wore, how did the face of despair appear once the youth that took upon the title of ultimate hope put such an inconsequential pest in their place? )
And not be able to realize the potential they had as Ultimate Hope...
( he has to give naegi the credit where it's due, because they are what he says, and that makes his heart soar a little more. to see that ishimaru won't even acknowledge is a problem, though. )
Oh, you lived as a stepping stone who moved them forward! That's all! You don't have to accept how you died, but you can accept that you did... that's the problem here, no one is able to accept the truth and use it to their hope! It's easier if you do, unless you want to forsake hope that bad...
no subject
I am not forsaking hope! I- I have firm grasp on my hope, thank you very much! Furthermore...
[He pauses for a moment, maintaining his intensity as he finds the right words to say.]
You are just making less sense by the moment! All I wanted to know... was one thing, and you answered it! Everything else you're saying... it's only advancing pain and confusion, not anything resembling hope! I've had just about enough of this, Komaeda-kun!
no subject
( because it would hurt him, but perhaps that is too much for him to understand at the moment. he should give him a piece, and then ishimaru can ask for bite-sized morsels if he wishes to indulge. he should have understood that telling him everything would be hard for him to accept, and so he glances off to the side. )
You're welcome! I'm glad I could be of assistance to you...
( he sighs, accepting his scolding while ishimaru talks to him, and quickly he places his hands over his mouth. he's being quiet now, not saying anything else as he waits for what may be ishimaru's next issued order. )
no subject
...You... have assisted me. That much is true, and I... thank you for that. [He admits to that much. He'd rather know the truth than to keep on wondering - and with this, he can see their circumstances in a different light. He does give a confused blink at the hands over Komaeda's mouth. Is he taking his desire to shut him up far too literally? It always ended feeling too helpful or not helpful at all with this guy... Ishimaru figures he should give some sort of direction, before he turns to part from him.]
For now, I feel it would be best for us to... continue observing this meeting. [He has a lot to process, and there's also other things going on at the same time to keep track of.]
no subject
( he's excited once given the a-ok to do so, slightly disappointed that ishimaru isn't willing to learn all the information that komaeda knows, but he'll have to be satisfied with what was said so far. he'll turn from ishimaru though, his arms crossed as he watches the people within the meeting, observing them like requested of him. )
Hm... if you ever need to know the rest, Ishimaru-kun, you can find me easily... ( he pauses, lifting a hand up to wave at the other as he looks back with a gentle smile. ) I'll take over and watch everyone from here, you can count on me, alright?
no subject
...I am honestly not sure if I can count on you. But you are free to observe and speak your mind.
