( at some point, sidney had left for just a minute- an excrutiating minute made all the worse by echoing emotions that both are and aren't his- to get a wet rag and a bowl of water to help clean lucifer up and more. it doesn't feel like enough, but once lucifer finishes, sidney can at least do this, gently tend to the mess and try not to fret too much-

elizabeth attacked him? but- why? he wouldn't say they were friends, but they had been on good terms- and she and lucifer even better. was it a case of possession again? or- fuck, what happened tonight? )

[There's an empty expression in Lucifer's eyes as he thinks back to tonight. Surely Sidney had felt his ire throughout the night so far, even though it's still early enough to where they can talk at length.]

...It's a long story. I found some gossipy students who I believe knew that body-snatcher of Clamor's, the same one who hurt Narumi, based on conversations they were having. I disposed of the three of them... I don't want any repeat incidents.

[Lucifer has created a narrative in his head about this whole thing. Of course people close to the dead kid would try to do his crimes again, of course, of course; he clings onto any threads of control he can get his hands on, never slackening his grip.]

Unfortunately, Minato walked in on the scene, and I would have been perfectly content to let the boy go had he not talked down to me. Elizabeth emerged from the elevator at that point. Her ire was only drawn to me because of Minato; she'd been content to allow everything else, from what I've gathered.

did... lucifer just admit to killing three children? is that what drew that horrible anger he's been feeling? and then a fourth for- for talking down to him? four children- his students' age- dead by his own lover's hand--

he feels sick- his stomach is churning and his blood's gone cold. this- this has to be a nightmare. a nightmare where the man he loves slaughters children and gets fourth degree burns and almost loses a wing. it can't be real- it can't be.... )

[Immediately, Lucifer starts getting dressed again, and as much as he wants to make this bitchy and passive-aggressive, he can't quite move fast enough for it. That thud of guilt that isn't his own slams him square in the chest as he's trying to distract himself from emotions he doesn't want to acknowledge.

To Lucifer, humans are humans. The morality of "children" versus "adult" is lost on him. And, besides, it was a child that killed Clamor.

Well, considering that student who killed our partner, [he hisses the words out, not necessarily at Sidney, but bitterness toward the situation in general,] tried to frame the school's cultists, it was easy to pick his friends out of the crowd.

They gossiped and spoke ill of what's mine. I will not tolerate repeat incidents. I disposed of them before they could do anything to those who remain.
