This was mine, from when I was an angel. It's a ring that enhances magical abilities, called the Ring of Light. As much as I could use it to enhance my already-present abilities, I figure this ring is better suited for you, as both a symbol of us, [gay] and to further your lessons along.

[Lucifer agrees, however, this ring is not meant to exclude anybody, and were they in better circumstances they wouldn't need it in the first fucking place. But here they are. Correct. This ring alone won't protect you, and I advise you to not lose it. It won't give magic to anyone who puts it on, but enhances magic for those that already have it.

Lucifer follows after, though. In the courtyard, they have more space to fuck around, and that means Lucifer can stand all the way on the other end of their semi-limited space and get yeeted. These first few attempts probably won't be that graceful — they never are.

As they emerge into the courtyard, covered in spider lilies as it is, Lucifer looks over to Sidney and explains shortly,]

Whatever words you choose to use to summon me to your side do not matter, with the caveat being that you do have to use my name. Something as simple as "I call upon you" works just fine.

Lucifer feels compelled, a bit, to come as called, but as for moving his physical form? It doesn't quite work. Still, he finds himself taking a step forward, and then another, before he manages to shake it off. In all fairness, Lucifer is an extremely powerful demon, even here — Sidney's attempt is a good one, given that.

Cupping his hands over his mouth, Lucifer hollers,]

That was a good first attempt! If you want me to come to you, focus more on my image alongside your magic — it should help out!

( congratulations, lucifer, you get to tell that sidney is even capable of feeling flustered- he's not a man who likes failing, and magic is so new to him still. ... he would have been content, just being the normal man between his magical boyfriends. and yet...

...which might actually come in the form of Lucifer, because that second attempt actually moves him, and suddenly he's warping across the courtyard in a blink and—

—and the trajectory isn't quite right so Lucifer lands unceremoniously on top of Sidney in a heap of tangled limbs, knocking them both to the ground. Absolutely glorious, actually. Lucifer rolls off of Sidney and onto the ground nearby, stares up at the sky... and just starts fucking howling with laughter.]

Are you alright? [Said between laughs as he sits up on his elbows with some grass in his hair.] That was the best second attempt I've ever seen, I won't lie to you.

sidney blinks once, twice, thrice before it truly settles how thoroughly lucifer just toppled him right over. an incredibly rare occurrence no, he doesn't care that the circumstances made it so. but then lucifer is laughing and any numb stunned feelings pop out of existence as sidney turns, just to watch him and listen and stare.

maybe he did. maybe he needs lucifer more than he even realizes. maybe he needs the comfort and security, feeling too open and vulnerable with his arm gone and the raw wounds of september. maybe all he's been is hurting and lucifer, despite casting away such a status, is the only shield he has.

but that's a grim thought, as equal parts warm and frightful, for laying in a field of flowers with your stupid smug demon boyfriend. so the comment just gets him a light thwap on the arm as he tries to sit up. )

[Thinking of the time Solomon teleported him and his brothers and they all landed in a heap while that shifty sorcerer bastard landed perfectly a foot or so off.] You'll get better at summoning me next to you with time, but you had me slightly up in the air with no way to control where I was falling.
