( it's a quiet moment between them. sitting side by side, sidney leaning on lucifer with a book in hand- sometimes he gets help turning a page, sometimes he just sets it down to move it himself- and two cups of coffee. but then sidney pauses, and... almost laughs? )

I had a thought- I'm not a man of faith myself, but I know some of the kids will want to celebrate it- Christmas, I mean. So tell me, how offended would you be if I decided to show Clamor and Noah at least the festive aspect?

( it's asked with humor, but surely lucifer can tell it's a sincere question- if lucifer shows any discomfort whatsoever, he'll nix the whole idea. but given gatcha otome-style fanservice-- )

Would you laugh if I've said demons celebrate a type of religiously-removed Christmas, much like many humans do? [He pauses, leaning a bit heavier into Sidney's side, grinning,] Mammon still believes in Santa Claus. Yes, I'm fine with showing the children that, if you'd like to.

( oh, that laugh is a relief on multiple levels. the stress of dating a demon versus societal norms doesn't get to him a lot, not... really, except when birds do things that require bird jail which is for birds, but also? it's just nice, after months of a smothering grief and sorrow, being able to make someone he loves laugh. hearing it, feeling the amusement rebound from their link... god, he needed that. )

I mean, in a world where magic is real, it could happen. And I would. ... I think Clamor would enjoy it. He's the sort to fuss over getting the absolute perfect gifts, I think.

[Lucifer's jailtime is deserved but he's been a good bird r...ecently ish. He snuggles up into Sidney's side more fully now, as if they could get any closer from the first snuggle, full of ridiculous amounts of affection that Sidney can probably feel in waves. Warm and happy and full of life, which Lucifer hasn't been as of late.

It's nice, too, to feel Sidney's emotions through the pact, to know that he's not fucking something up.]

That sounds like him, yes. Now, what are you and I going to get for him, is the question? Does the student store sell books? Ideally he could read something that doesn't require the library...

[They'll have to hold it for him or read to him, but? It's the thought that counts?]

Why don't you let me handle haggling? And as for something a little less... expensive, what do you think of serenading him? I've never asked him his taste in music, unfortunately, but I'm sure I can guess.

I've never had much of a talent for music, I'm afraid.

( he could make little wood carvings, once- he hasn't tried, since august. ... he should have seen if noah would have wanted to learn something- even a simple carving. cooking is still a bit of a difficulty, but he's managed simple meals unassisted again.

[Lucifer's learnt over the past few months that people have not treated Sidney or Clamor with any sense of respect. It really is disappointing, but at least matters of romance are now in Lucifer's horribly gay hands.]
