October Event

10/02 06:12

✽ Silence lifts at six in the morning, and there is still quite a bit of time before classes start. Early risers who decide to return to school from the dorms cross the courtyard and open the double doors and—- something cold and wet drips down onto their head: old blood from the torso of a student(?) bound by rope and strung up above the doors to the courtyard, body burned black and cut in half at the waist.
The air is heavy, and the entire school smells of blood.

Hope... month...

✽ A large poster advertising the student store has been tacked up on the bulletin board. For October, store hours are now 6AM to 8PM Monday to Saturday, and noon to 4PM on Sundays. Outside of those hours, the shopkeeper is occasionally in the shop and will leave the door propped open if they are, but more often than not, the door is closed and there is no answer when knocking on the door. Laundry tokens can now be purchased at a reasonable price. The rock gacha machine is now located just outside the door so it can be played at any time. Please continue to spend your hard-eared points on plain boring normal rocks.
✽ In the dormitory, the construction paper covering the oil paintings start to soak through with blood, causing the papers to grow heavy and fall. The distorted faces in the paintings seem to be bleeding from their open wounds, the canvas wet to the touch and smelling of blood. Blood dripping down the walls and on the floor do not cause the dorms to change, nor do the splatters of blood seen on the glass over the star dormitory rooms occasionally throughout the month, as if it had rained blood in the darkness and silence of night, although no other evidence is seen elsewhere in the courtyard.
✽ The wisteria tree slowly continues to lose its petals, and the area roughly ten feet around the trunk of the tree has become completely dead and barren, leaving dry dirt underneath. Despite shedding its petals, new buds are becoming noticeable now too. The spider lilies that bloomed during the autumnal equinox remain, still covering the rest of the courtyard and extending into the forest surrounding the school. Outside, the air smells faintly metallic at all times.
✽ Occasionally throughout the month and increasing in frequency and intensity towards the end of the month, characters with 13 or more tallies will find themselves sensitive to sunlight and loud noises, prone to vertigo upon standing or turning too quickly, and suffering ice pick headaches throughout the day.
✽ Characters with 5 or less tallies will hear faint white noise during the normally silent hours of midnight to 6AM, but no other sound.
✽ The class roster on the bulletin board acknowledges class 1-D for leading the rest of the classes in rank, being the first to reach 100. All characters in first year classes and #-D classes will receive 500 merit points and will be able to exit out the front door to the school. They will be able to make it up to the front gate, but will find themselves growing lightheaded and about to pass out if they try to squeeze through the bars or climb over the gate itself. Please contact me privately if they would try to get out anyways.
✽ The void in the auditorium continues to grow, and (pending character interaction) by the end of the month will encompass the entire right wing of the first floor past the lockers, the home ec cooking room on the second floor, as well as the art club room on the third floor.

Exchange Program

✽ On October 11, students participating in the exchange program are given one pocket knife each and sent out the front doors, upon which they will find themselves in that canon location as if they had stepped out of any normal door in the area. For characters who visit their own canon's location, they will find all their friends and family alive and happy— except for the one person they are closest to, who will be absent. Nobody there will recognize your character or the person they are closest to, regarding both as complete strangers, as if neither have ever existed in the first place. But otherwise... think of it as canon good end, in contrast to elevator bad end.
✽ There is no bus to take them back to Yogen and they can stay as long as they'd like, even forever if they feel like it. If they wish to return to their real home, though, they would have to first return to Yogen and figure things out from there. The first time they open the pocket knife, they will find a piece of paper tucked between the blade and the handle reading "Use to return." If they use it on other people, that's the local law enforcement's business. In order to return to Yogen, perhaps remembering Natsume's presentation mentioning how they got there in the first place, they will have to use the knife on themselves, or otherwise die by happenstance or, eventually, old age. Two weeks after their return to school, they will find one additional tally on the inside of their wrist.
✽ In return, Yogen receives three exchange students: two familiar and one not.

OOC

✽ The first prompt leads into this month's mini-event, which is becoming a misnomer, maybe they should be called murder events instead.
✽ All students leaving on the exchange program will icly be gone for at least 10/11 - 10/17, although they will be able to return at any later date in October, at the player's discretion, regardless of how much time they experienced on their trip. Just like in the bad end elevator and the void school, nothing physical can be taken back from the exchange trip, but characters can at least drain their bank accounts eating good food and exploring town before coming back.
✽ The new exchange students are former npcs Kouji Seki and Chiaki Kudo, as well as a new student ???. They can be interacted with in their corresponding toplevels below, after 10/11.

Long enough to give a few pointers here and there.

[He's resting his elbows on his knees, eyes going back to idly watching Jason work. His hands are sure in their actions, which tells Childe that he's got practice in modifying ordinary objects into deadly weapons. From there, his attention slides away from the busywork and up Jason's arm, alighting a spark of interest as he takes a second to count the tallies.]

For instance, you're gonna want to hide those. [He's smirking now, tilting his head to the side a bit as he regards Jason.] Unless you're someone who's just really good at dying, or you don't mind advertising the fact that you're a murderer. [It's said almost playfully, without a single ounce of malice.]

[He takes a second to actually stop and look down at his arms. He hadn’t given much thought about what these meant, but somehow that made a lot more sense than whatever he had originally thought of.]

So that’s what these mean.

[He holds his arm out, turning them over a bit before he rolls his sleeves down enough to cover most of them.

Ugh, he hated sleeves.]

Makes sense.

[He seems so unfazed by the knowledge and the possible accusation.]

[With a slight chuckle, he's shifting to get his hand into the inner pocket of his uniform jacket and withdrawing the roll of bandages he's been stealing from classroom first aid kits. He unwinds a decent length, snipping it off with a small knife seemingly materialized from thin air. It disappears just as effortlessly into a spray of cool mist, and then Childe is tossing the strip over.]

Here. It's a handy method. [He puts the rest of the roll back into his pocket, and then he's pushing his sleeve up to unravel the strip he's got across his own left forearm. There's a pointed pause as he waits just long enough for Jason to see his own twenty-eight, and then he's neatly wrapping it back up and pulling the sleeve down again.] And don't worry. We can keep it between us.

[Well, Jason didn’t peg him as the kind to die so this guy was either a murderer or really unfortunate. He scuffed a bit before he took the bandages and rolled them up. He put them in his pocket.

He’d do something with them later. His sleeves will work for now.]

Neat trick you got there.

[He nods his head at the little spray of mist that was evaporating before leaning back against the wall to get a little more comfortable. He had been hunched over for a while.]
devouringdeep: (how are you so fucking hot im goin feral)

[personal profile] devouringdeep 2021-10-06 11:02 am (UTC)(link)
Hm? Oh, this?

[He holds his right palm up and closes it into a fist, his usual blade wisping into being in his grip. It takes a lot more concentration to will up than he's used to, and the dagger itself is more translucent and a bit less refined than he'd like, but getting his vision back was still nothing to sneeze at. Besides, it was still impressive, and he could summon them at full strength in that other place anyway. Which was more important than out here.]

You wouldn't believe the kind of looks it gets at parties. [He tosses the dagger up into the air, watching as it flips a few times before he's catching it by the blade and holding the hilt towards Jason.] Here. You can give it a few swings if you like.

Oh god that icon

[personal profile] redoutlaw 2021-10-06 11:13 am (UTC)(link)
[Hell yeah he wanted to hold them.

He set the knife and shiv down on the floor, knife blade pointed away from his body and on the oposite side to where Childe was. Though it didn’t matter if Childe could reach for the knife or not, considering he could just make them out of water.]

I’ll be more surprised if no ones asked you juggle.

[He took hold of the dagger, a little surprised by how cold they were. He examined them, taking note of the details and the feeling of holding it. It like holding running water that was somehow made solid enough to hold. He’d kill to have something like this.

He did some quick twirls with the dagger, spinning it around and switching hands effortlessly. They felt nice to wield. A little too light for him, but then again it was water.]

Color me impressed.

[He flipped the dagger again, holding it by the blade and handing it back to Childe.]

kjhrkh everyone is so weak for that icon i SWEAR (same tho)

[personal profile] devouringdeep 2021-10-06 11:30 am (UTC)(link)
[Childe barks out a laugh, leaning his head back to rest against the wall.] I probably could if I needed to, honestly. Though it might be considered cheating.

[He doesn't take his eyes off the dagger, keeping focused enough to not accidentally cause the thing to explode into droplets. It was harder when in someone else's grip, but still relatively manageable.]

Thanks! I'm pretty good at what I do, so it's always nice to get some recognition. [He takes it back, tossing it up into the air where it evaporates into a shower of manmade rainfall. He redirects the spray so it doesn't pour over top of them, instead causing it to pool in a small puddle on the other side of the hall.

It would dry before someone was in danger of slipping and breaking their neck. Probably.]

I'm Childe, by the way. [He holds his hand out to offer it to Jason for a handshake, grouped alongside a brief pause.] It's an alias. [Another pause.] And it's spelled with an 'E' at the end.
redoutlaw: (Default)

ITS SO GOOD

[personal profile] redoutlaw 2021-10-06 11:38 am (UTC)(link)
[Show off.

Jason reached out and shook his hand, his grip a little firmer than it needed to be. As he pulled back, he couldn’t help but raise a brow at that.]

Not the worse alias I’ve heard.

[He laughs a little.]

Name’s Jason.
devouringdeep: (Default)

[personal profile] devouringdeep 2021-10-06 11:54 am (UTC)(link)
Not the worst name I’ve heard. [It’s cheeky and teasing counter, and Childe can’t stop himself from saying it with an amused wink and a soft chuckle. He’s got a strong grip, this Jason guy. Hands calloused just enough to confirm his suspicions that he knew his way around an arsenal.]

Don’t worry, I get the feeling that you’re gonna get on just fine here. In the meantime, though... [He holds up a finger, reaching into his pocket to retrieve a folded up packet of paper. It’s the sacred Yogen Lore Texts that were passed around at the slideshow event, and he figures that Jason probably needs it more than he does right now.]

Feel free to give this a skim. There’s a lot of stuff happening around here that might make you want more than just a sharpened toothbrush for protection.
redoutlaw: (Default)

[personal profile] redoutlaw 2021-10-06 11:58 am (UTC)(link)
[He took the paper and looked it over for a couple of seconds before folding it back up and sliding it into his pocket.]

I figured that much already. It’s why I have a few more things scattered around. Thought I’d kill to have my guns back.

[He sighs very dramatically, though he can’t help but return Childe’s playfulness.]

Or a pair of water daggers. Those would be nice too.
devouringdeep: (^^')

[personal profile] devouringdeep 2021-10-06 04:06 pm (UTC)(link)
Guns are probably easier to come by. Although, if you ask nicely I’m sure someone here might give you some magic lessons. They might not work, of course, but who knows?

[He drums his fingers against his knee, humming thoughtfully and clearly mulling something over.] Tell you what. [He’s reaching back into his coat, the opposite inner pocket than last time. He withdraws what looks like a normal pair of metal scissors, slightly rusted along the edges. Upon further inspection, the screw in the center has been removed and replaced by a stick, which allows each piece to be pulled apart and wielded as its own separate dagger of a sort. They’ve also clearly been sharpened, enough so that they could pierce flesh with quite a bit of ease.]

You can keep these. If you want to, of course. They’re not guns, and they’re not made of water, but they’ve been handy in a pinch. Besides, I don’t really need them anymore.
redoutlaw: (Default)

[personal profile] redoutlaw 2021-10-06 07:38 pm (UTC)(link)
[That would have made his life a lot easier, at least. He took the scissors, turning them over slowly before he was giving Childe a slight grin.]

Wow, a show and a gift.

[He tucks the scissors on the small of his back, using his shirt to cover the end of the scissors. He would definitely keep an eye out on actual weapons he could snatch up, but for now, these would do.]
devouringdeep: (Default)

[personal profile] devouringdeep 2021-10-06 07:54 pm (UTC)(link)
[He's laughing again, rolling his shoulders up into a shrug and sliding one leg out to rest flush against the floor.]

What can I say! I'm a generous guy. And in return for my generosity, you can go ahead and tell me a little more about yourself. [That wolfish grin is sliding onto his face as he speaks. Mostly... His intentions were a lot less than altruistic. He wanted to learn how Jason ticked, what set him off.

He seemed the type to find trouble often. Childe wanted to know if it was his own favorite kind of trouble.]
Where you from, Jason?
redoutlaw: (Default)

[personal profile] redoutlaw 2021-10-07 12:47 am (UTC)(link)
[Snorts.

He doesn't hesitate, does he?

Jason glanced back at Childe for a moment before he was resuming his task of sharpening the toothbrush. He'd go back and finish the job in the kitchen later once he had access to fire. A shame Childe didn't come equipt with fire daggers instead.]

Gotham.

[He glanced back at Childe again, though his hands didn't stop moving.]

What about you?
devouringdeep: (^^')

[personal profile] devouringdeep 2021-10-07 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
[He's never heard of Gotham, but that's not really that much of a surprise here anymore. There are lots of people here from places he could only dream of, so he takes the information in stride and simply gives a small nod.]

Snezhnaya.

Real cold, technologically advanced. Huge military force. I'm sure you've heard of it.

[He sounds obviously sarcastic, and even chuckles a little to himself directly afterward.] Food's real good. People are better. Definitely a sought after tourist venue, if I do say so myself. Gotham the same way?
redoutlaw: (Default)

[personal profile] redoutlaw 2021-10-07 01:23 am (UTC)(link)
[What the fuck was a Snezhnaya.

Sounds Russian.]

I do love me some good food, and if they're anything like you then I'd be at least entertained.

[At the question though, he can't help but bark out a laugh.]

Sure, if you're about crazed homicidal clowns, incompetent police, and rampant crime.
