I was gonna ask if you'd be willing to help me with mine again, but I feel kinda bad if you don't catch a break. I mean, I'm not the only one who's asking you, right?

( he's caught wind of those tutoring services; knows he's getting off real easy in terms of price here, and also, that nobody wants to be caught working all day every day. well, for now at least, he can pick up the glass that's been left on the sill. he brings it up to his lips so he can have a taste too — it's cinnamon-flavoured, his favourite lately, since the cup natsume had shared with him that time. )

Don't worry about it, it's why I only have myself scheduled to certain days. And anyway, if there's no big tests coming up, people tend to ask for it less.

[which is to say, this week she's had no customers, but it's fine. technically she doesn't even need to offer the tutoring services for pocket cash, but by now she's invested in making sure a few of her regulars get past their exams.]

You don't have to feel bad about asking, ever. If I was too busy, I'd just say so.

Yeah, but like, even when you're not tutoring, I feel like I never see you taking a break. If you are taking on too much, I don't want to make it worse by wearing you too thin.

( to tell the truth, it's not like he even cares about his homework or his grades all that much; he just didn't want to do anything to make himself stick out either, and especially not among the transfer students. it just... he feels kind of bad, if he takes that kind of approach with her, especially after what he saw that night. he still feels a little awkward around her, it's true, but his senpai seem to get along well with her, so he doesn't think she can be such a bad person. for that, he thinks that maybe he can try too. )

[it's true, her "free time" was in specific chunks, her breaks at the mercy of what days might not have tutoring and whether she studied or not. a spontaneous break, with someone else? it really has been a while. and if it makes Aira happy, then she's happy about the whole deal.]

( he's still... in the progress of figuring out hobbies he can actually pull off in this place. go is something he's been practicing a bit with hikaru and their friends, and it doeson't sound too bad, but that would probably mean needing to see the board, right?

Do you have anything you usually do when you're taking a break?

Oh, it depends! Sometimes I go swimming in the pool, sometimes I read, and sometimes I see if I can't find some good music in the library. I can't bring it out - I don't have anything to play it on out here - but I like to listen to it.

( hmm, so those are the kinds of things she gets up to, huh? they sound like okay ways to pass the time, though aira'd rather spend his own reading forums on the latest idol news than the classical poetry that seems more up her alley, but like... it's fine. he gets the vibe, so he can appreciate it. considering those for a moment, it only takes a moment for him to reach his conclusion. )

Oh, I know! If it's music, I have just the thing.

( and with that, he'll start rummaging around on his side of the room. shouldn't take long though; not like he has a lot of stuff, right? so in just a moment, with a bit of an "a-ha!" he'll pull out his signed trickstar album. of course, he's not going to let it leave his sight, but if it's music she's so interested in... )

It's a CD for Trickstar! Akehoshi-senpai gave me this earlier — he said he'd trade for that love~ly rock I got when I showed up here ♪

Can you play it? Can we listen to it?

[her face lights up with the possibility - it'll be new music, something else to listen to apart from the tracks she's used to - but it's also Aira sharing this with her, and she's excited for that moment. if he has a way to listen...maybe she can sneak a few other CDs out of the library, and they can enjoy them in the dorms.]

Of course! I mean, even a place as ancient as this has got to have CD players somewhere, so I can show you just how amazing Akehoshi-senpai sounds when he's performing. Not that a recording could ever compare to seeing the real thing ♪

( so with that, let him just... get a bag or something to put it in, so they can ferry it across campus with them. there's definitely gonna be a CD player here, but in the dorms specifically? knowing these freaks? he's not really looking to snag anything that belongs to someone else around here. instead, he'll rock on the heels of his feet, waiting expectantly for helena to rise from her seat. )

( oh, yes, same helena. he'll wait patiently while she gets ready, and then the door is open and, yeah, she can probably tell from the sound of his footsteps: quick and eager, only to catch himself about to leave her behind in his excitement and slowing down to match the pace she's set. )

How about the workshop? I hear the programming club's always taking things apart and putting them back together in there. Maybe someone's donated a radio or something?

Hmm...let's go see. I'm there often enough, I'm sure there's something.

[since they both know where they're headed, she's quicker to keep pace with him, thinking hard about what she's been dealing with there.]

I think one of the computers can play something like that, if we're careful...it's not mine, but I'm allowed to use it, if I'm cautious.

Yeah, I can be careful! I spent, like, a ton of time online back where I'm from, so I'd say I'm pretty good with computers? Ah, not as much as Sakasaki-senpai though.

( he's like, a programmer. aira just lived on stan twit. there's a very big difference in the types of online that they are, but even so, he's pretty sure he can handle "careful" by the definition of someone who's from ye olde victorian era or something. )

But the club's got all kinds of future tech and stuff, so I don't thiiiink they'll mind too much if we borrow one of those old bricks anyway? Even those'll probably have a CD player built in.

( you know, the old laptops that are big and chunky. it'll have, like, windows media player with the visualizer on. but that's kinda counting on them not having already dissected the poor things for parts, which is a lot to ask considering who's in that club and the ambitious projects they seem to be working on. )
