[Seeing the flyers around the school is something that Inaba herself finds interest in, and the fact that the survival club still exists is honestly a bit of a relief.]

Ah, sorry for the intrusion~ The lessons would be nice, but I actually came here to see if there was anything that I could use...

Come on in. You're... Inaba, right? [They haven't talked... Or at least in Hinata's memories they haven't talked, but he's seen her in passing a few times.] We can hold off on the lessons for another time, then.

[With a slight smile, Hinata stands up and sets his supplies to the side. That can wait til later.]

There's only so much we can get from the school, but we do have a few things hanging around, like the ropes and some bottles of pre-boiled water. Was there something in particular you had in mind?

Yeah.

[She actually doesn't know about Hinata's memory issues, but it's fine if she was forgotten, after all. It's been a while.]

I was wondering if you guys had some camping stuff... sleeping bags or something? It's fine if you don't, I'll make do with what I have.

[She's being polite and cordial in her tone of voice, something that's pretty unusual, even for someone like her who tries to blend in with the crowd but still stands out just barely enough as a transfer.]

[Hinata hums, thinking.]

The school's only given us one tent for the club's use, so that one I wouldn't be able to give you... But we do have sleeping bags that we can give out per member, if you were interested in joining.

[But the gears in his head turn a little bit more as he mulls over that word choice. "Make do..."]

...Was there something in particular you needed them for? Being stuck here limits a lot of what we can get our hands on, but we might be able to throw something together to suit your needs.

Aah, it's for members only, huh...?

[She clicks her tongue in what seems to be only read as disappointment but manages to force a smile as she brings her hands up in apology.]

It's fine. I'm not really interested in joining any clubs at the moment, anyway.

[Even if she'd have the free time for them, she doesn't feel like there's any club that she'd feel right at home with. They wouldn't suit her and she'd wind up in the same place as before, when she got kicked out of the computer club, back at Yamaboshi.]

I was mostly looking to make my sleeping space a little more comfortable, is all. Desks are still a little hard on the neck.

[Hinata doesn't quite remember what he was about to say - something reassuring, perhaps, about how she shouldn't feel the need to join a club if she doesn't want to.

But it's quickly wiped from his mind, alarm streaking across his face.]

You're... don't tell me you're staying out here in the school instead of the dorms?

[He can feel himself go paler by the second. Doesn't she know how dangerous that is...?]

If... you need a place to stay, I'm sure there has to be space in one of the rooms still.

I am.

[She answers rather curtly and without a single shred of hesitation. If she notices him going pale in the face, Inaba ignores it with a smile; one that doesn't reach her eyes in the slightest bit. Her tone keeps its polite, distant edge, icy in spite of how chipper she sounds.]

Someone offered to let me stay with them before, but I said no. It's much better if I'm alone.

[After all-

...if she started alone, she can go back to being alone...right?]

[Hinata shakes his head, hard. No... No.

He doesn't want to accept either of those things.]

Being alone... That's its own problem, but even putting that aside- you know that void is getting bigger in the school, right? What are you going to do if it swallows one of the rooms you're staying in? It's dangerous out here!

[It's something he thinks about a lot. The void that's getting ever closer to their daily lives, and with no foreseeable way to stop it.

And she's just... out here, facing that by herself?

It doesn't sit right with him. Not at all.]

["Being alone... That's its own problem," well, he most certainly is correct about that, at least, but that isn't important at the moment. There are things that are much more important here, and that's-]

Yeah, I do. [She's pretty aware of that. How could she not be?] But that just means that its growth needs to be stopped, right?
