November Event/tdm
11/08 - 11/13 Cultural Festival
The school campus opens its doors to the public early Monday morning, with family, friends, neighbors, and strangers arriving to fill up the halls, each visitor having eyes of gold and wallets full of cash. Festival events run from 8AM to 4PM, and pamphlets are handed out by students lining the locker area, which include a schedule and a map of the campus:
✽ The opening event on Monday is an idol performance in the auditorium by the twin star unit GEMINI, consisting of Natsume Sakasaki and Subaru Akehoshi. On Thursday afternoon, the music club will hold a performance in the auditorium, featuring the typical choir with piano accompaniment, a capella performances by smaller groups of members, as well as solos, with requests taken in between performances so members can switch off and take a break.
✽ The student store is open every day up until noon on Saturday, and while the absurdly high prices are still absurdly high, there is a sign up in front of the rock gacha that one of the prizes is an all day pass to any of the school's events for one day of the festival. The odds aren't worth the price, but it's not like the shopkeep reveals the odds.
✽ Class 1-B is hosting a themed cafe in their homeroom.
✽ Class 1-D has turned their homeroom and neighboring classrooms into escape rooms, which runs from Tuesday to Friday.
✽ The robotics/programing club and the gaming club have set up a variety of video games in 2-A, and are hosting a competition between visitors and their AI.
✽ Class 3-D is hosting a kissing booth in their homeroom.
✽ In the home ec cooking room, the cooking club is hosting a cooking contest, with student judges and prizes for the winners.
✽ The sewing club and the art club have put together a photo booth inside the home ec sewing room, featuring all sorts of props and costumes imaginable to try on and pose in front of a number of hand painted backgrounds. Photos are taken by an instant camera for visitors to take home a keepsake. In the art club room, the art club has a gallery set up, with paintings hanging from the walls and sculptures set up in front of them, and a strict no touching policy or one of the members threatens to scoop your eye out with a palette knife and she doesn't look like she's joking. There is a large open canvas, however, for visitors to try their hand at paints or charcoal or pastels on what will become a collaborative art piece done by an entire week's worth of visitors. Occasionally throughout the festival, an art club member will have a space off to the corner for portraits or face painting.
✽ The sewing club has also contributed plush toy prizes for various other class' game stalls throughout the school, where visitors can pay to play for a chance to win small prizes, and are able to trade up several smaller prizes for larger ones.
✽ Out past the courtyard, various sports teams host games throughout the week, including relay races and obstacle courses and tug o' war and """soccer""". Basically it's sports day, because there had been a sports day on the calendar but I never look at the calendar so it was already halfway through the month before I realized.
✽ The fourth floor hallway has been cleaned up and turned into the rest area, with rugs laid out across the ground and comfy chairs scattered around the room and little bags of cat treats for sale to entice the fluffy white cat into hanging out in this space all week. Even without treats, she is content to sit on people's laps and rub against their ankles and let them bury their faces in her stomach. Healing.
✽ In the evening on the final day, after all the visitors leave, a large bonfire is set up in a non-flammable area between the courtyard and pool building and left to burn late into the night for those students who choose to remain on campus until around 8PM, when the festival culminates in a small fireworks show that lights up the sky overhead in reds and golds, while on the ground, sparklers are passed around for a quiet moment appreciating the beauty, and transience, of life.

✽ Throughout the school year, merit points have occasionally been earned through interactions between students involving strong emotion, whether positive or negative. This month, characters may notice that this happens much more frequently, and the amount of merit points earned is also sometimes more than the typical one point. Please report threads of strong emotion below, as this will minorly affect December.
✽ On 11/23, Yogen sees its first snow of the year, a light dusting across campus that does not stick when the sun rises again the next morning, but it will snow on and off until the end of the month.
✽ This event log doubles as a TDM, with new characters experiencing the recurring feeling of drifting in (school life) and out (canon life) of sleep up until they "open their eyes," after which they will have full awareness and come to their senses.

( his tone is a bit whimsical from how soft it normally is, but he's taking hi role as the cheshire cat seriously — the blue tail hanging from the back of his little puffy outfit or whatever that girl had in the photo, but he takes off his light blue boa to settle down on nene's shoulders. )
And yesterday things went on just as usual. I wonder if I've been changed in the night? Let me think: *was* I the same when I got up this morning?
( he hums in thought, looking towards nene for a moment — did he change, or ha she changed, but it's not like that's a horrible thing. thinking up cheshire cat quotes on the spot is testing his familiarity with the book. )
no subject
did he change? not at all. did she? oh, yes. certainly. )
no subject
( his tail twitches from behind, the sparkles floating off of it as he walks closer to the dormouse, and once he's close enough — he'll get down to his knees. he doesn't make much of a fuss as she deals with someone else, and his eyes watch who gains the tea, and then he lifts his gaze back to her. not only if he looking at her, the faint apparition of a blue cat glanced at her too — all before fading away.
it's always hidden, never showing its face to him, and so he doesn't worry about it, no. he thinks it's a trick of the mind, if anything, and he places his hands on the table like a cat who wants to pull themselves up. )
Even if you're different from yesterday, new today, and old tomorrow... The Dormouse who is always here serving tea.
( he chuckles for a moment, and he smiles softly, as if waiting for a response. )
no subject
even if you're different, huh. does he know about the most recent aches in her heart? that which has stolen her voice? there's one obvious to all, yes. and really, it's only the festival keeping her out of bed right now. she knows it's obvious.
komaeda is gentle as he speaks, as he crouches beside her and smiles. for all her grief, she'd been certain he'd give up on her. but she was still her, and maybe for all the hurt and grief, he still saw that.
after a moment, nene lowers the fan and smiles softly, before squeezing one of his hands in her own, and points back to the main table. she's going to sit down again, and he's welcome to join her. but before she goes, nene stands on her tiptoes and hugs him. the dormouse may fear the cheshire cat. and nene is wary of komaeda in many ways. and yet... )

Come now, Dormouse, there's much more to see.
( he manages to get himself together, inhaling a bit as his free hand lowers down to lightly tap her arm. it's a silent request for her to let go, only because he doesn't want to drag her. he does allow her his hand, keeping his cold digits within her palm as he takes one step forward despite the female attached. )
If you keep your eyes closed, you'll miss the important moments... ( where are the important moments here in wonderland, though, it's that shared with those that spark hope is what he would say, but as the cheshire cat he must play whimsical, but mysterious feline. )
...the unknown will keep you from heading forward, but if you see it... twas brilllig, and the slithy toves, did gyre and gimble in the wabe… ...it's not scary anymore.
no subject
... she's tired. walking feels like a chore sometimes, moving forward moreso. but she does need to keep going. even if sometimes it's all she can do to get out of bed and get a snack. people asking for her help for the cafe is her motivation this week, and she knows once it's done she's going to crash once more.
he's trying. she knows that. so... komaeda will be rewarded with a soft smile, a distant light of that sparkle in her eyes again, briefly. she'll get back up again- there's no choice. ... just... forgive her for needing to rest, too. )

Dormouse, it's me, your good ol' feline The Cheshire Cat... hmm~ hmm~ hmm~
( a little whimsical hum that he knows the original cat would do, playful and teasing as he looks at the chair closest to her, and he takes a seat as his tail sparkles and shifts, playing along with their surroundings since it's rather animated when he moves. even the little blue cat that appears every so often spins, twirling in mid-air before disappearing.
looking at the table, he takes notice to the tea cup, and then he brings the cup of sugar over as well. )
The world-renowned series by Lewis and Carroll continues to play endlessly in my head, don't you our oh-so-king Dormouse. It's alright, no one will bring harm to Wonderland, and hurt us anymore. Like the three sugar cubes that I drop and mix in your cup...
( one, two, and three goes the ones that drop into the teacup )
The relieved world continues to spin...~

as the blue kitten appears again nene blinks, glances to komaeda... he knows, now. not that she's been secretive about her sight for a while now, but she told him directly. so if he doesn't know about the kitty, perhaps he won't question it much when she reaches out to touch it. where does it come from? where does it go? ... the real cheshire cat has been here all along. does it like the cafe, she wonders.
but there's more to this simple tea party, isn't there? komaeda is telling her things. so she will listen. no one will bring harm to wonderland and hurt us, the relieved world continues to spin.
... she's safe. is that what he's saying? ... it is, isn't it? )
no subject
You can see it too, huh? ( he's broke out his character. ) I was starting to think I was the only one, but you're different from me... so maybe because I wear it, and because of your eyes.
( he smiles, exhaling a relieved sigh after he nods. )
Maybe you can draw me what it looks like, I wonder who's been teasing me for so long, do you mind, Dormouse?
no subject
and also confirmation that komaeda at least is aware of it, that's neat. quietly, she nods. she can see it, yes- he's probably correct that it's his wearing the tail, and her eyes combined. she hadn't expected him to drop the bit for a moment, but... well. that sort of relief can do that. if you think you're seeing things, the reassurance that you aren't going mad- hah- will always take point over anything else, even if only for a moment.
drawing it out though... hm... it's been a while since she's drawn, hasn't it? quietly, nene nods, before digging into her pocket. if they're breaking character, the dormouse is texting. )
can you get me some paper and a pencil, please?
no subject
You're so friendly! In this land, I knew you'd be able to see the other side of... me! Cheshire Cat leaves a grin, and no cat, there's always two of me!
( that's true, there's two komaeda's, the conscious and subconscious, the white and the black split into two straight down the middle. his heart, too, is the same way, and that's why he's able to play properly, his tail bouncing as he skips away to find a few pieces of paper, and a pencil as he notices something out the corner of his eye, but he looks back to nothing — he always knows something is there, playing, tricking him, and yet he's never saw it properly. perhaps the tail is cursed, perhaps this spirit loathes his existence and that's why it hides.
once he has what he needs, he makes his way back over, covering from the side so that no one can see the device that nene's using for their moment break. )
What do you think? Is it a very merry unbirthday to us, to us!
A very merry unbirthday to us, to us!
( he claps his hands together, shaking his head from side to side until he stops. )
Whose birthday is it...?
( which has a meaning to what is it that haunts him? )

komaeda returns, back in character but eager as ever. nene looks up at him and accepts the requested items, quietly pushing a few things out of the way- the cluttered tables were part of the aesthetic, but they sure were difficult! and then... she draws, occasionally glancing up at the apparition and then back down. she's not a great artist, but she's decent enough. cutesy things are her forte, though- and a strange cat definitely fits the bill. ... it kinda reminds her of that french superhero show...
once she's finished, she turns it over to komaeda once more. )

A self portrait! Who knew that The Dormouse was so... creative in that field! Don't you only love tea?
( he's glad he has an idea of what's been following him, the cat truly is that of a cheshire then, and it makes him think of what sort of world did norton come from? it's for a moment that komaeda reminiscences, wondering if he's made it back to his fantastical world, with his eyes closed, he smiles briefly before giving his attention back to nene. )
Do you love to draw, too? Oh, boo, you should do this more often, it's true.
no subject
after a moment, on a remaining piece of paper, she writes: )
i don't hate it
but i've never thought of it before
no subject
( live in that painted world that nene had told him about, a pretty gilded cage where everything is fine in the inside — they would find themselves led to those delusions, and he can't allow himself to break out of character. he clears his throat, looking up for a moment at the ceiling as if he's searching for something, or waiting for the feline to appear next to him so he can only see a second of them. he glances back down now, staring at the drawing. )
If you won't speak, why not try that alternative... in pictures, images, let people decipher your thoughts.

like komaeda-san? )
no subject
that's just frigid horror symbolism in his mind, but he taps it with a smile. )
Lightening?
( was he right? )
