November Event/tdm
11/08 - 11/13 Cultural Festival
The school campus opens its doors to the public early Monday morning, with family, friends, neighbors, and strangers arriving to fill up the halls, each visitor having eyes of gold and wallets full of cash. Festival events run from 8AM to 4PM, and pamphlets are handed out by students lining the locker area, which include a schedule and a map of the campus:
✽ The opening event on Monday is an idol performance in the auditorium by the twin star unit GEMINI, consisting of Natsume Sakasaki and Subaru Akehoshi. On Thursday afternoon, the music club will hold a performance in the auditorium, featuring the typical choir with piano accompaniment, a capella performances by smaller groups of members, as well as solos, with requests taken in between performances so members can switch off and take a break.
✽ The student store is open every day up until noon on Saturday, and while the absurdly high prices are still absurdly high, there is a sign up in front of the rock gacha that one of the prizes is an all day pass to any of the school's events for one day of the festival. The odds aren't worth the price, but it's not like the shopkeep reveals the odds.
✽ Class 1-B is hosting a themed cafe in their homeroom.
✽ Class 1-D has turned their homeroom and neighboring classrooms into escape rooms, which runs from Tuesday to Friday.
✽ The robotics/programing club and the gaming club have set up a variety of video games in 2-A, and are hosting a competition between visitors and their AI.
✽ Class 3-D is hosting a kissing booth in their homeroom.
✽ In the home ec cooking room, the cooking club is hosting a cooking contest, with student judges and prizes for the winners.
✽ The sewing club and the art club have put together a photo booth inside the home ec sewing room, featuring all sorts of props and costumes imaginable to try on and pose in front of a number of hand painted backgrounds. Photos are taken by an instant camera for visitors to take home a keepsake. In the art club room, the art club has a gallery set up, with paintings hanging from the walls and sculptures set up in front of them, and a strict no touching policy or one of the members threatens to scoop your eye out with a palette knife and she doesn't look like she's joking. There is a large open canvas, however, for visitors to try their hand at paints or charcoal or pastels on what will become a collaborative art piece done by an entire week's worth of visitors. Occasionally throughout the festival, an art club member will have a space off to the corner for portraits or face painting.
✽ The sewing club has also contributed plush toy prizes for various other class' game stalls throughout the school, where visitors can pay to play for a chance to win small prizes, and are able to trade up several smaller prizes for larger ones.
✽ Out past the courtyard, various sports teams host games throughout the week, including relay races and obstacle courses and tug o' war and """soccer""". Basically it's sports day, because there had been a sports day on the calendar but I never look at the calendar so it was already halfway through the month before I realized.
✽ The fourth floor hallway has been cleaned up and turned into the rest area, with rugs laid out across the ground and comfy chairs scattered around the room and little bags of cat treats for sale to entice the fluffy white cat into hanging out in this space all week. Even without treats, she is content to sit on people's laps and rub against their ankles and let them bury their faces in her stomach. Healing.
✽ In the evening on the final day, after all the visitors leave, a large bonfire is set up in a non-flammable area between the courtyard and pool building and left to burn late into the night for those students who choose to remain on campus until around 8PM, when the festival culminates in a small fireworks show that lights up the sky overhead in reds and golds, while on the ground, sparklers are passed around for a quiet moment appreciating the beauty, and transience, of life.

OOC
✽ Throughout the school year, merit points have occasionally been earned through interactions between students involving strong emotion, whether positive or negative. This month, characters may notice that this happens much more frequently, and the amount of merit points earned is also sometimes more than the typical one point. Please report threads of strong emotion below, as this will minorly affect December.
✽ On 11/23, Yogen sees its first snow of the year, a light dusting across campus that does not stick when the sun rises again the next morning, but it will snow on and off until the end of the month.
✽ This event log doubles as a TDM, with new characters experiencing the recurring feeling of drifting in (school life) and out (canon life) of sleep up until they "open their eyes," after which they will have full awareness and come to their senses.

WELCOME TO THE WONDERLAND CAFE!
Desks have been pushed together to make one long table in the center of the classroom, and it's absolutely covered in tea ware and more importantly, snacks that are free to take... within reason, of course. In different corners are equally different seating arrangements- some are cushions arranged at the foot of a fake tree like a picnic, and some are mismatched stools and chairs at repurposed desks, with bunting hanging all around- it could easily become a tangled mess, but somehow... it doesn't. There are regular tables around as well, and sitting at the long table are three especially dressed up figures.
Aira is in the center, dressed in a pale blue frilled shirt over a soft, puffy-sleeved button up and pink and white checkerboard pants- his long boots have a similar theme, with one being white and pink and the other being white and blue. The alternating barrettes in his hair are also a soft pink and blue, and the more you look, the more you can see the details of subtle stripes on the shirt, the blue and pink lace of the collar, and more! Alice, as you can see, is having a delightful time and is happy to invite you to the party too!
Nene, to the side is in a pale blue dress with patches and pockets of pink and white even some mint greens here and there, her hair done up in two big buns and a long ribbon trailing from her back as a tail. with one stocking striped blue and pink and the other covered in polkadots, she's happy to kick her feet back and forth and help serve you tea and snacks, occasionally hiding behind a lace hand fan. The Dormouse may not be too chatty this time, but she's happy to wish you a merry unbirthday!
And to Aira's other side is Hikaru is ready to host and serve, dressed in a frilly pink shirt with blue and white trim, and yellow, heart-shaped accents around the collar with a yellow ribbon tie. With matching shorts and their blue hat and rabbit ears, and their trusty clock propped just so, they're more than ready to tell you exactly when one unbirthday ends and the next begins, the proper time to drink your tea and when to change places!
All around them is mutli-colored trees and hedge statues made of cloth, wire and wood foundations, and hanging connected from tree to tree are bright, colorful paper lanterns of different shapes and sizes. But perhaps most importantly is the checkerboard stage in front of the chalkboard, and it's karaoke set up.
Snacks to take consist of checkerboard shortbread cookies, of both a chocolate brown and soft white, and multicolored with pink, green, blue and more interchanging, berry and apricot thumbprint cookies, heart-shaped stained glass cookies, cucumber sandwiches, and short skewers of fruits or vegetables, cut into hearts, stars and flowers.
A variety of teas and coffee is available to drink, poured by the dormouse herself, and she will also happily show you the brightly colored sodas available, as well as hot chocolate with pastel heart-shaped marshmallows.
Available to order is a variety of sandwiches, checkerboard cakes with pastel frosting, and salads.
Wonderland is waiting for you!

I fudged up the roles a bit, Hikaru is also the White Rabbit, not the Mad Hatter. This goof is entirely on me, but it could effect others' choices in who to volunteer as so I wanted to clarify!

THE DORMOUSE !
( nene, as the dormouse, is playing the part of a sleepy thing when she's not going around serving tea, either bringing people cups or pouring from the pot itself. despite the start of the month and the lingering exhaustion, she's putting her best self forward for this. when people try to goad her to talk too much however, she hides behind her fan and shakes her head.
when she's not busy as a hostess, she's happy to join people at their tables and keep them company, or cheer them on for karaoke as best as she can. she's especially happy to provide cookies and slices of cake though- she worked very hard on these ideas, after all! in a hidden pocket of her dress are signs she can take out to say certain, in-character phrases, but she seems to be forgetting them a lot.
mostly, nene spent so much time helping set up and prepare costumes, that now she gets a quieter role of being part of the scene, instead. )
b. exploring the festival!
( out of costume, nene is happy to take a look around and see what else the school is offering. for the first time in so long, it feels like things are just... fun and light and okay, even if it came at such a cost.
catch her looking at different booths curiously, playing games and toting around plushies and prizes, or maybe drag her to get a snack or rest a bit! it's a festival, and it's no time to be alone. )
c. wildcard!
( there's plenty of options, and one whole nene to drag around and have fun with. be sure to rest your nene between events, and to provide her with sugar. )
a
( his tone is a bit whimsical from how soft it normally is, but he's taking hi role as the cheshire cat seriously — the blue tail hanging from the back of his little puffy outfit or whatever that girl had in the photo, but he takes off his light blue boa to settle down on nene's shoulders. )
And yesterday things went on just as usual. I wonder if I've been changed in the night? Let me think: *was* I the same when I got up this morning?
( he hums in thought, looking towards nene for a moment — did he change, or ha she changed, but it's not like that's a horrible thing. thinking up cheshire cat quotes on the spot is testing his familiarity with the book. )
no subject
did he change? not at all. did she? oh, yes. certainly. )

So when she peeks on in and sees Nene, she waves casually with the brightest smile she can muster up.]
Hey~ I'm allowed to wander on in, right?

There you are, zayka. Do you have a specific prize that you have your eye on? One you haven't gotten yet? I'll get it for you, no matter the cost. [She wouldn't let him be sad and lonely last month and now he's here to return the favor.]

Sorry, Yashiro-han, s'my fault. Don't ya worry none 'bout clumsy ol' me.

he wishes Hajime were here. he'd give her so many prizes and food she wouldn't know what to do with herself...it's hard, because of the fact that he's dead. he doesn't want her to die, never wants her to die, but the ache in his heart he has when he looks at girls like Nene and Rika makes him miss his adopted little sister figure even more.]
Did you win all that yourself?
[he's not judgmental, just curious.]
nice....
his weakness is adoptable girls ok

a || TDMs over here too
Anyway, he eventually stops being a goblin and makes his way over to the table, being... generally odd and out of place, wearing his blazer off his shoulders like he's not quite dedicated to putting it on, and he's using the ribbon necktie not as it should be used but rather to replace the ribbon he normally wears at the back of his hair (which, said ribbon has mysteriously gone missing since he woke up here, rude).
Now, as far as Ain understands about things, he has to find someone to pay for the food before he eats it, otherwise he'll get in trouble. This has been Taught to him by the humans he normally hangs out with. So after he stops touching things, and after he spends five minutes kind of staring at the snacks, he wanders off to go find a staff member because he's going to pay for snacks. Except he has no money. So, hm...]
Hello! Do you take IOUs for payment on the food?
[What the fuck.]

THE QUEEN OF HEARTS? sick in the head
𝟬𝟭. 𝙤𝙛𝙛 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙! 𝙤𝙛𝙛 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙! 𝙤𝙛𝙛 𝙬𝙞𝙩𝙝 𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙙!
[ art opens his eyes.
he expects a red-dyed yokohama that he'd finally accomplished, complete at the cost of so many sacrifices. but he'd eradicated all the sin, and his brother can rest easy now -- he can rest too, although he doubts it'll be an easy way. but at least he can finally kill himself now and atone for all of that.
what he didn't expect upon opening his eyes was an entirely different shade of red flooding his senses. he blinks a few times in sheer confusion, looking down at his hands and his robes (skirts?), his eyes narrowing. his outfit is most certainly not his own nor to his own tastes, and he feels disoriented by everything that's going on.
a school life, huh? ]
Am I supposed to be a purveyor of hearts...? How ironic.
𝟬𝟮. 𝙨𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙚𝙣𝙘𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩—𝙫𝙚𝙧𝙙𝙞𝙘𝙩 𝙖𝙛𝙩𝙚𝙧𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙨.
[ anyway, art's walking through the hallways, pulling off the thigh highs and whatever parts of the outfit he has on that he can without becoming indecent because he is so not into this.
he wrinkles his nose as he pulls off one of the socks, absently confronting whoever might be passing by him. ]
I need to question you.
01! the alice in wonderland detectives meet
[ Herlock calls over to the other from his seated position in his beanbag chair. He hasn't left it yet because he doesn't trust himself to walk without stumbling just yet, after having been suddenly struck with various memories... and also because the seat is actually really comfortable.
He sits there in his Caterpillar costume, pipe in hand. Despite how bumbling the detective might be, he can pick up the most minute body language- nothing gets past his observant gaze. And so, when confronted with someone allegedly having the same symptoms as he, there might be a lilt of relief in his voice. ]
It seems we're fit to be the cast of a certain book.

but he the voice, however, is what makes him stop dead in his tracks.
!!!!!
the look on his face is one of pure shock.]
Art...?
[then he frowns as he takes another step closer towards his friend, looking more stern as he leans in towards his face.]
Didn't I tell you I'd kill you if you died again, you dumbass?!

WHITE RABBIT
He bursts into the cafe late and carries himself as seriously as ever.]
I am late! I am late! For a very important date!!
[An apologetic bow.]
Please forgive my tardiness! How may I help you?
