11/08 - 11/13 Cultural Festival

The school campus opens its doors to the public early Monday morning, with family, friends, neighbors, and strangers arriving to fill up the halls, each visitor having eyes of gold and wallets full of cash. Festival events run from 8AM to 4PM, and pamphlets are handed out by students lining the locker area, which include a schedule and a map of the campus:

✽ The opening event on Monday is an idol performance in the auditorium by the twin star unit GEMINI, consisting of Natsume Sakasaki and Subaru Akehoshi. On Thursday afternoon, the music club will hold a performance in the auditorium, featuring the typical choir with piano accompaniment, a capella performances by smaller groups of members, as well as solos, with requests taken in between performances so members can switch off and take a break.

✽ The student store is open every day up until noon on Saturday, and while the absurdly high prices are still absurdly high, there is a sign up in front of the rock gacha that one of the prizes is an all day pass to any of the school's events for one day of the festival. The odds aren't worth the price, but it's not like the shopkeep reveals the odds.

✽ Class 1-B is hosting a themed cafe in their homeroom.

✽ Class 1-D has turned their homeroom and neighboring classrooms into escape rooms, which runs from Tuesday to Friday.

✽ The robotics/programing club and the gaming club have set up a variety of video games in 2-A, and are hosting a competition between visitors and their AI.

✽ Class 3-D is hosting a kissing booth in their homeroom.

✽ In the home ec cooking room, the cooking club is hosting a cooking contest, with student judges and prizes for the winners.

✽ The sewing club and the art club have put together a photo booth inside the home ec sewing room, featuring all sorts of props and costumes imaginable to try on and pose in front of a number of hand painted backgrounds. Photos are taken by an instant camera for visitors to take home a keepsake. In the art club room, the art club has a gallery set up, with paintings hanging from the walls and sculptures set up in front of them, and a strict no touching policy or one of the members threatens to scoop your eye out with a palette knife and she doesn't look like she's joking. There is a large open canvas, however, for visitors to try their hand at paints or charcoal or pastels on what will become a collaborative art piece done by an entire week's worth of visitors. Occasionally throughout the festival, an art club member will have a space off to the corner for portraits or face painting.

✽ The sewing club has also contributed plush toy prizes for various other class' game stalls throughout the school, where visitors can pay to play for a chance to win small prizes, and are able to trade up several smaller prizes for larger ones.

✽ Out past the courtyard, various sports teams host games throughout the week, including relay races and obstacle courses and tug o' war and """soccer""". Basically it's sports day, because there had been a sports day on the calendar but I never look at the calendar so it was already halfway through the month before I realized.

✽ The fourth floor hallway has been cleaned up and turned into the rest area, with rugs laid out across the ground and comfy chairs scattered around the room and little bags of cat treats for sale to entice the fluffy white cat into hanging out in this space all week. Even without treats, she is content to sit on people's laps and rub against their ankles and let them bury their faces in her stomach. Healing.

✽ In the evening on the final day, after all the visitors leave, a large bonfire is set up in a non-flammable area between the courtyard and pool building and left to burn late into the night for those students who choose to remain on campus until around 8PM, when the festival culminates in a small fireworks show that lights up the sky overhead in reds and golds, while on the ground, sparklers are passed around for a quiet moment appreciating the beauty, and transience, of life.

✽ Throughout the school year, merit points have occasionally been earned through interactions between students involving strong emotion, whether positive or negative. This month, characters may notice that this happens much more frequently, and the amount of merit points earned is also sometimes more than the typical one point. Please report threads of strong emotion below, as this will minorly affect December.
✽ On 11/23, Yogen sees its first snow of the year, a light dusting across campus that does not stick when the sun rises again the next morning, but it will snow on and off until the end of the month.
✽ This event log doubles as a TDM, with new characters experiencing the recurring feeling of drifting in (school life) and out (canon life) of sleep up until they "open their eyes," after which they will have full awareness and come to their senses.

miyuki shirogane wants to blend in again

[ A cultural festival. Really?

Miyuki wasn't certain if he was hallucinating due to the headache or if he'd drifted off into a deep sleep and was dreaming this whole thing. It takes him a moment to remember exactly where he was, what this school was, and... well. The rest he has to glean from his PDA and the vague memories swirling around his usually dependable brain.

A cultural festival? Why? ]

[ And yet, here he is at the home ec sewing room, staring down the photo booth. Honestly, as much as he wants to complain about this stuff going on all things considered, he has to admit that it looks like a lot of work went into it. Plus if any of the transfer students had worked on it, he wouldn't want to denigrate any of their efforts. So, what the hell.

He sifted through the props, and came up with... a top hat, a checkered eye mask and a scepter, adorned with a plastic crystal on the end. He twirls the scepter a bit in his hand, before holding it out towards the camera, tilting his hat. In his mind, there's a quote popping up. Unconsciously, he speaks: ]

Try your hardest not to fall for me.

[ ... Good thing nobody heard that. ]

[ After all of the excitement he's been through, one positive is that he can make use of the fourth floor rest area and take up space on one of the rugs. Given how out of it he's been since he got back, it's nice to at least be in a somewhat quiet area, near a cat who occasionally brushes past him. It really is soothing...

And so, he's fallen asleep. He uh, really hasn't had much in the way of caffeine yet today and even the slightest bit of comfort's enough to lull him to start napping right on one of these rugs. So, a sleeping Shirogane's just right here.

[ Surprise! Miyuki's here again and is immediately being thrown for a loop by this festival thing going on. I'll try to have an open post up for him in a few days, but in the meantime, here he is! Let me know if you have an idea through a PM or perpendicular! ]

[ holy SHIT not for long at this rate!! Ishimaru might've given him a heart attack, at least if the yelp Miyuki gives is any indication! ]

Gyaa-- y-yes?!

[ He was just missing!!! No death! that he is aware of ]

[Ishimaru knows what he knows. He tears up, relieved to see him alive and well and not red-eyed. He grips his shoulders, just to make sure he's really here in the flesh and not a colorful shadow.]

Yes! [He gives an affirmative echo.] I- I am quite thrilled by this news! It is great to see you alive again, Shirogane-kun! ...Ah, as alive as any of us are here in this school, of course!

[ Success! Miyuki's not ethereal, and he's way too dazed at this point to stop him from grabbing on. ]

Nice to see you to-- eh? Again? [ A beat. ] I blacked out for a while, didn't I?

Er...

[ There's a sound of shuffling feet as a girl backs up. She thought this booth was empty? Sara is honestly unsure if that sentance was adressed at her, or this boy is just flirting with his reflection in the mirror. Neither were...well she didn't want to be mean. ]

I already promised a date to one person...so... I think you don't need to worry about that.

[ Aaaand somebody heard it. Well, if he wasn't dead before, he sure as hell wishes he was now! ]

N-no, sorry, I thought I kept that to myself! It wasn't... I was trying to get into character!

[ Yeah!! For the picture!! ]

[ Into...character...? Is he a cosplayer? ]

So you pretend to be a bishonen hero for fun, huh?

[ She didn't know this school has cosplayers...maybe he's going to do a photoshoot at a festival...how fun. ]

[ It's a new record, Shirogane. An hour into returning to school and you've already made yourself look like a massive weirdo. He shakes his head, waving it off. ]

No no, it's more like... haven't you ever worn a costume before and thought for a split second that you were actually a hero just for laughs? Funny, right?

[ Miyuki laughs nervously just to add a period onto it! Yeah, funny! ]

( she thinks maybe she's seeing a ghost again- or at least, she does until she realizes its daytime still. so miyuki may be trying to rest, but nene can't help but tug on his sleeve to get his attention, looking up at him with big, watery, shocked eyes.

nene tries to say something, but fails, and digs into her pocket for her phone to type one-handedly: )

[ With those... whatever those sounds are, he peers up at Nene trying to focus his eyes. ]

Ya...shiro? [ Focused enough to read the phone... ] Aaah, sorry. I hope I didn't worry you too much. I'm glad to see you're okay.

[ As... okay as she can seem at the moment, anyway. ]

( should she tell him everything from the... elections? ... he's clearly exhausted. after a moment, nene shakes her head, wiping her eyes in her wrist. )

[ He's already thrown off by one thing-- ]

We have dorms? That's news to me.

[ More importantly than that though. As he's starting to focus a bit more, getting a better look at Nene. ]

I wouldn't mind, but if you're not feeling well, I can find my way there myself. I don't want to trouble you.

[She's going to just nudge him with her foot, in an attempt to wake him up.]

You're alive, right?

Mmghfmhhnhm.

[ Unless corpses make sleepy noises and turn over just a bit. As alive as he's gonna be. ]

[Her shoulders sag a little bit in relief that he isn't, well - dead at least.]

He should consider himself lucky I don't have a camera on me.

[She would have taken a picture of this.]

But I wonder if I can find something to do~

[...Inaba may be trying to find a marker to draw on his face with if he doesn't wake up in like, the next minute or two.]

[ The bad news is that he had stirred just a bit. The good news is that he went right the fuck back to sleep. There's an X on one cheek already, and the tip of his nose has a bit of blue paint on it.

So, y'know. He's already almost a clown. ]

[ WHY. He knew he should've kept his mouth shut! The costume's power was just too much for him-- or some other excuse. ]

H-Hey, don't misunderstand! I didn't mean to say that out loud!

[sorry that he's a piece of shit who's now got ammunition to get under someone else's skin.]

The heart says what it desires most when you think you're alone. So you must want someone to fall in love with you...but who? I don't even know you, unless...you're a fan, perhaps?

[ How in the world did Joshua come to that conclusion?! That. Absolutely correct conclusion about wanting someone to fall for him. At least, one person in his mind. ]

H-Haha, funny joke. I've never seen you in my life!

[ Hmm, hm~ Chiaki spots Miyuki dozing off on the rug and— it's not immediate, but she leaves and comes back and is excited that he's sleeping deeper now because she's going to crouch down in front of him and maybe he's exhausted enough not to wake up to the feeling of something drawn across his cheek, circling around his eyes... ]

Mmn, ugh--

[ Something's messing with his face... is he being poked? It feels like his face is being stretched out, like a slug sliding around his face? Almost like... like... ]

Mnngh...!

[ He's stirring, wiping at the side of one of his eyes, which. Is probably spreading ink up to his eyebrow and the back of his hand. ]

Mmn, huh?

[ Good news is, it's not ink that he spreads across his face, and instead something easily washable. Bad news is, it's fish paste, and the fluffy white cat is making a beeline over here to lick Miyuki's eyelids. ]

Oh, you're awake!

Blgh-- hey, what?!

[ If only it were ink! It in fact, raises far too many questions for his groggy brain to pick up on right away. He's being attacked by a cat? Well no, licked by a cat, and dealing with whatever the hell this bad smell is. ]

Wh-What's going on?! What's that stench?!
