November Event/tdm
11/08 - 11/13 Cultural Festival
The school campus opens its doors to the public early Monday morning, with family, friends, neighbors, and strangers arriving to fill up the halls, each visitor having eyes of gold and wallets full of cash. Festival events run from 8AM to 4PM, and pamphlets are handed out by students lining the locker area, which include a schedule and a map of the campus:
✽ The opening event on Monday is an idol performance in the auditorium by the twin star unit GEMINI, consisting of Natsume Sakasaki and Subaru Akehoshi. On Thursday afternoon, the music club will hold a performance in the auditorium, featuring the typical choir with piano accompaniment, a capella performances by smaller groups of members, as well as solos, with requests taken in between performances so members can switch off and take a break.
✽ The student store is open every day up until noon on Saturday, and while the absurdly high prices are still absurdly high, there is a sign up in front of the rock gacha that one of the prizes is an all day pass to any of the school's events for one day of the festival. The odds aren't worth the price, but it's not like the shopkeep reveals the odds.
✽ Class 1-B is hosting a themed cafe in their homeroom.
✽ Class 1-D has turned their homeroom and neighboring classrooms into escape rooms, which runs from Tuesday to Friday.
✽ The robotics/programing club and the gaming club have set up a variety of video games in 2-A, and are hosting a competition between visitors and their AI.
✽ Class 3-D is hosting a kissing booth in their homeroom.
✽ In the home ec cooking room, the cooking club is hosting a cooking contest, with student judges and prizes for the winners.
✽ The sewing club and the art club have put together a photo booth inside the home ec sewing room, featuring all sorts of props and costumes imaginable to try on and pose in front of a number of hand painted backgrounds. Photos are taken by an instant camera for visitors to take home a keepsake. In the art club room, the art club has a gallery set up, with paintings hanging from the walls and sculptures set up in front of them, and a strict no touching policy or one of the members threatens to scoop your eye out with a palette knife and she doesn't look like she's joking. There is a large open canvas, however, for visitors to try their hand at paints or charcoal or pastels on what will become a collaborative art piece done by an entire week's worth of visitors. Occasionally throughout the festival, an art club member will have a space off to the corner for portraits or face painting.
✽ The sewing club has also contributed plush toy prizes for various other class' game stalls throughout the school, where visitors can pay to play for a chance to win small prizes, and are able to trade up several smaller prizes for larger ones.
✽ Out past the courtyard, various sports teams host games throughout the week, including relay races and obstacle courses and tug o' war and """soccer""". Basically it's sports day, because there had been a sports day on the calendar but I never look at the calendar so it was already halfway through the month before I realized.
✽ The fourth floor hallway has been cleaned up and turned into the rest area, with rugs laid out across the ground and comfy chairs scattered around the room and little bags of cat treats for sale to entice the fluffy white cat into hanging out in this space all week. Even without treats, she is content to sit on people's laps and rub against their ankles and let them bury their faces in her stomach. Healing.
✽ In the evening on the final day, after all the visitors leave, a large bonfire is set up in a non-flammable area between the courtyard and pool building and left to burn late into the night for those students who choose to remain on campus until around 8PM, when the festival culminates in a small fireworks show that lights up the sky overhead in reds and golds, while on the ground, sparklers are passed around for a quiet moment appreciating the beauty, and transience, of life.

OOC
✽ Throughout the school year, merit points have occasionally been earned through interactions between students involving strong emotion, whether positive or negative. This month, characters may notice that this happens much more frequently, and the amount of merit points earned is also sometimes more than the typical one point. Please report threads of strong emotion below, as this will minorly affect December.
✽ On 11/23, Yogen sees its first snow of the year, a light dusting across campus that does not stick when the sun rises again the next morning, but it will snow on and off until the end of the month.
✽ This event log doubles as a TDM, with new characters experiencing the recurring feeling of drifting in (school life) and out (canon life) of sleep up until they "open their eyes," after which they will have full awareness and come to their senses.

FEEL FUZZY, GET CLINGY
At that moment, the tiles from above hit against the ground, and two individuals draped in black cloaks stand beside our guests, and they reach out clipping something around their wrists with a snap. Nene and Add feel a warm hand touching their arm, and as for Natsume, a pair of cool fingers are what he can tell has touched his skin. They've been practicing this for awhile now! Which, before anyone attacks them like feral animals, they're making a run for it, and now they're all left to one another — if they all lift their right arms, they'll find that there's cold steel wrapped around their wrist, a short chain connected to both Add and Nene, and the chain for Natsume's is longer than theirs, but having a lot of slack never hurt anyone! If they feel around the cuff, they can tell there's a hole where a key can go, but aside from that — they're attached together.
On the door reads a new set of rules:
> DOOR
> DOOR
> DOOR
no subject
admittedly, she wasn't sure who she was expecting, but natsume and add are both surprises. far more surprising is everything that follows after, barely giving her time to process a thing. ... those sure are handcuffs. --so why does natsume get the longer chain? since this is clearly with purpose.
nervously, nene looks around and inches a bit closer to the other two. )
no subject
Until the lights cut out, anyway, and that part isn't so bad, but suddenly feeling unfamiliar hands and the loud snap of a metal cuff clapping around his wrist—
sorry but he's immediately yanking his arm back, which means yanking on the chains connecting them all together. It's too late to stop anything from happening, though, and he grasps at the cuff with his free hand, too tight to slip out of, a sickening familiarity at the cool touch of metal and the jingling chains—
just a game. it's just a stupid, annoying game and he will make that idiot pay for this, so he can't be freaking out when they've barely even started. Add hisses out an irritable sigh, allowing his hand to slowly lower back down to his side as he tries to pretend none of that just happened, and... did gravity stop working for a second? It's fine, don't worry about it. He isn't gonna cheat and use his powers (yet).
Anyway... he would just start rudely yanking people around, but Nene is here, so.]
Obviously, we're supposed to follow Massacre... it went into that door on the left.
no subject
He lets his heartrate slowly come down from the suddenness of it and Add's movement, but— interesting that he has a little more freedom than he expected. A longer chain... so he'll probably have more to do than them. Already he's thinking, slipping into the escape room mindset as he turns to the d )
You named it Massacre? ( ............. ) Well, whateVER.
( He'll tug them gently in that direction then, off we go. )
Don't step on the little LAMB, Add-kun, or I'll place a hex on YOU.
GAME 2: NENE & ADD & NATSUME | FLOORMASTER: ???
> DOOR
> DOOR
> DOOR
Their chains clink together depending on how close they are, and given the fact Natsume has so much slack compared to theirs, he probably can manage not making too much noise. Sorry, Add, being in the middle sounds awful, but at least Nene's right behind you... quiet as a mouse. Coming closer to the door, they'll hear soft music coming from the cracks, nothing they can fully understand until they open the door perfectly to let the music, light, and a powerful aroma flow into the hall, that tickles or stings their nose, but they might think smells like this are familiar.
Hardwood creaks beneath their feet, they're tightly squeezed between all sorts of potted plants from daisies, to lavender, blue salvia and red, poppies, gladiolus, hyacinths, red spider lilies, ferns, roses, with orchids of all colors spread about along the wall that's mixed with lillies, all over the floor — granted, some of these are real, and some are made fake to bring out life to the room. there's a gigantic tree in the middle of the room, a perfect, healthy size that stands tall with beautiful green leaves, a sturdy pot that keeps it in its place, and if they look over the flowers that have them blocked in, they can see fairies with translucent wings here, and there, one of them playing the DJ considering there's a boombox playing this.
Fairies are watering various flowers, not bothering to speak to their guests yet, because guests know what they should do when they enter a place like this. Show respect.
Welcome to Anisoptera! Where you Feel Fuzzy, Get Clingy! Land of the Seelies.
Watch your step! Mushrooms grow from the floor, and there's dirt scattered about, no play sand, this is real dirt from outside so if there's any holes when they go out to the dormitory. As every individual will come to find out, if they wish to find out about their invitations, they'll have to make conversation, because even Massacre is nowhere to be seen in this jungle. There's a table next to the flowers nearby, a few familiar snacks that Nene can recognize from her highly recommended establishment that the fairies seemed to love so much.
Though, "Queen" is written on sheet of paper at the table... what does that mean?
Now, during their sightseeing, the door will lock behind them, they've left the world of Yogen and have finally returned.
no subject
once the wonder dies out a bit, nene reaches across add to tug at natsume's sleeve- as much as she loves you add, natsume's the one from a world like her own, and is more likely to know the references.
otherwise, she's looking around carefully. she recognizes her own treats from the cafe, and some of the flowers. and she knows not to step in mushroom circles. right now, she's unsure what to do, however, so she'll trust natsume and add's lead. )
no subject
If nothing else, they have a name to find a fairy with. He'll turn back to the both of them and speak softly, for just the three of them to hear. )
How much do you two know about the FAE?
( let's get some BASICS HERE, before we go romping in and talking to people and getting into trouble. He's sure the escape room's not going to half-ass their fairyland or fairy rules, not with how much effort they've already put into it. )
no subject
Only an idiot would believe any of this is "real". [is his obligatory wet blanket answer... but he sighs again a moment later] I'm an engineer. I doubt my knowledge would be of any use in this situation.
[unless they decide to interrogate someone... is it against the rules to use their chains as a strangulation tool? hmmmm.]
no subject
it may effect the rules of the game though
i think we should play along
anyways
dont eat fae food, dont speak your true name, and don't step into a ring of mushrooms. thats what i know.
( and then she squeezes add's hand in her own. he's not normally one for this sort of thing... so if it's what he wants, she'll go with it and use herself as an excuse. she's clingy, after all. )
no subject
Very well PUT, Little Lamb. You shouldn't be rude to them eiTHER, unless you want to be on the receiving end of their nastiest TRICKS, and you should never accept a gift from THEM... If you must do SO, get rid of it as soon as possible unless you have some faith in them; regardless of that THOUGH, don't thank THEM. It'll imply you owe them someTHING, and that's the worst thing you can do with the FAE.
( On the other hand, if you call a fairy by their true name, or if you get them to thank you and owe you... Well, the same rules apply. You can turn it on them easy enough.
Natsume'll glance around the room again, lingering on the table with Queen, and back to them. )
Either we can all take on new names to call one anoTHER, or we use last NAMES. It'd seem the little lamb's and I's invitations do that anyWAY, so it might be easiEST.
no subject
Add is fine. [it's not his real name anyway and he'll kill anyone who calls him Grenore]

Subtract-kun.

...
...]
"Sakasaki" is too many needless syllables, so we'll shorten it to Sack.
no subject
Sakasaki has a perfect amount of syllaBLES, but I suppose someone who picked the world's most uncomplicated mathematical process as their nickname wouldn't appreciate IT.

[they're two steps into the room and already turning on each other, 10/10 teamwork skills]

guys!!! focus!!!
no subject
we probably have to talk to the fairies
i have that invitation with me, so there's a starting point maybe?
also i recognize some of the treats! they're from my class's event.
( considering that the fairies loved it so much, she's a little flattered! ... but also, who did they get those from... hmm. still, she can't quite help with talking as much as the others can- she can at least relay ideas and the like, and hold out the pda if needed. )
no subject
Since Sack-kun is so confident, he can do the talking. [just kidding, Add can multitask] I'm looking for a Horiana... and if either of you see Massacre again, tell me. Though I doubt it would be that simple in the first place.
no subject
( Hmph. )
Anyway, I got an invitation TOO, but it's from the QUEEN. ( "Maya". ) I doubt we're going to see her this early THOUGH, so let's focus on Miss Iolanthe.
( horiana who
Now, which one to talk to... The DJ's a little busy, and they'd have to go around flowers anyway, but there's one across the room from them... )
We'll ask the closest one FIRST.
( And he'll head towards the one right ahead of them! How I had to doublecheck the cute map for this... "Don't be rude" is one of the core rules, so he'll give a polite bow to the fairy in greeting. )
Good morNING, Fair Folk ♪
no subject
As they make their way to the other side of the room, there's a few flower petals that brush against their skin, a few bugs jumping off the leaves, and a ladybug onto Subtract-kun's shoulder, and there's a beetle that manages to attach itself to Sack-kun's hand, accompanying him on the ride. At least they know whether it's real or fake plants, it seems that someone has made sure there were a few bugs to make this look realistic. Yashiro is lucky, she managed to avoid any creepy crawly, but there is a centipede that's in the way of her footing, she should watch her step! This is the Seelie Kingdom after all.
They'll close in on the individual who has a watering pail in hand, and may be watering a fake plant, or maybe it's real. Either way, the trio has been noticed.
There's an abundance of flowers around them in this corner, which is probably the nursery since the faerie here attends to them, so if the crew wanted, they could admire the growth. Baby seedlings already breaking from their shells, sprouts pushing up through the dirt to breathe classroom air.
Give the fair folk a minute to...
no subject
Morning. [A soft, sort of rough voice greets them, a gentle incline of his head. The emerald glitter upon his cheeks sparkles a little as he continues.] Not often we of the Seelie have guests, though once known treat best. Care for a flower? They love to sing, and give one power. Think they'd look pretty in your hair, seeing one so fair.
[To Nene, with a small smile.]
Have you a name to give, or in knowledge dark must I live?
no subject
i'm sorry, i don't have a voice. but these two call me yashiro. it's very nice to meet you.
( ... man, she really should have brought her phone, huh? text to speech would make things so much easier. )
no subject
Pleased. Pink suits your features well; nearly am I cast beneath your spell. Have you come for audience, merriment, or something more? Should it be the first, consider yourself fortune-poor.
[It isn't as if the Queen would so carelessly deign just anyone with her presence. If any of them have their invitations visible, it would seem his eyes are drawn to them briefly, but he doesn't ask. It's on them to bring it up formally. The Fae aren't known for pressing far outside of formalities.
... He continues after a moment, green make-up barely hiding the blush that graces his own cheeks.]
Should it be pleasure, then this one shall treat you as treasure...
no subject
She's taken, sorRY. ( A pointed smile, setting his hand on Nene's shoulder. ) We're looking for Horiana or Iolanthe; are either of those fairies in attendance currentLY?
