11/08 - 11/13 Cultural Festival
The school campus opens its doors to the public early Monday morning, with family, friends, neighbors, and strangers arriving to fill up the halls, each visitor having eyes of gold and wallets full of cash. Festival events run from 8AM to 4PM, and pamphlets are handed out by students lining the locker area, which include a schedule and a map of the campus:
✽ The opening event on Monday is an idol performance in the auditorium by the twin star unit GEMINI, consisting of Natsume Sakasaki and Subaru Akehoshi. On Thursday afternoon, the music club will hold a performance in the auditorium, featuring the typical choir with piano accompaniment, a capella performances by smaller groups of members, as well as solos, with requests taken in between performances so members can switch off and take a break.
✽ The student store is open every day up until noon on Saturday, and while the absurdly high prices are still absurdly high, there is a sign up in front of the rock gacha that one of the prizes is an all day pass to any of the school's events for one day of the festival. The odds aren't worth the price, but it's not like the shopkeep reveals the odds.
✽ Class 1-B is hosting a themed cafe in their homeroom.
✽ Class 1-D has turned their homeroom and neighboring classrooms into escape rooms, which runs from Tuesday to Friday.
✽ The robotics/programing club and the gaming club have set up a variety of video games in 2-A, and are hosting a competition between visitors and their AI.
✽ Class 3-D is hosting a kissing booth in their homeroom.
✽ In the home ec cooking room, the cooking club is hosting a cooking contest, with student judges and prizes for the winners.
✽ The sewing club and the art club have put together a photo booth inside the home ec sewing room, featuring all sorts of props and costumes imaginable to try on and pose in front of a number of hand painted backgrounds. Photos are taken by an instant camera for visitors to take home a keepsake. In the art club room, the art club has a gallery set up, with paintings hanging from the walls and sculptures set up in front of them, and a strict no touching policy or one of the members threatens to scoop your eye out with a palette knife and she doesn't look like she's joking. There is a large open canvas, however, for visitors to try their hand at paints or charcoal or pastels on what will become a collaborative art piece done by an entire week's worth of visitors. Occasionally throughout the festival, an art club member will have a space off to the corner for portraits or face painting.
✽ The sewing club has also contributed plush toy prizes for various other class' game stalls throughout the school, where visitors can pay to play for a chance to win small prizes, and are able to trade up several smaller prizes for larger ones.
✽ Out past the courtyard, various sports teams host games throughout the week, including relay races and obstacle courses and tug o' war and """soccer""". Basically it's sports day, because there had been a sports day on the calendar but I never look at the calendar so it was already halfway through the month before I realized.
✽ The fourth floor hallway has been cleaned up and turned into the rest area, with rugs laid out across the ground and comfy chairs scattered around the room and little bags of cat treats for sale to entice the fluffy white cat into hanging out in this space all week. Even without treats, she is content to sit on people's laps and rub against their ankles and let them bury their faces in her stomach. Healing.
✽ In the evening on the final day, after all the visitors leave, a large bonfire is set up in a non-flammable area between the courtyard and pool building and left to burn late into the night for those students who choose to remain on campus until around 8PM, when the festival culminates in a small fireworks show that lights up the sky overhead in reds and golds, while on the ground, sparklers are passed around for a quiet moment appreciating the beauty, and transience, of life.

✽ Throughout the school year, merit points have occasionally been earned through interactions between students involving strong emotion, whether positive or negative. This month, characters may notice that this happens much more frequently, and the amount of merit points earned is also sometimes more than the typical one point. Please report threads of strong emotion below, as this will minorly affect December.
✽ On 11/23, Yogen sees its first snow of the year, a light dusting across campus that does not stick when the sun rises again the next morning, but it will snow on and off until the end of the month.
✽ This event log doubles as a TDM, with new characters experiencing the recurring feeling of drifting in (school life) and out (canon life) of sleep up until they "open their eyes," after which they will have full awareness and come to their senses.

( from the way he jumps, komaeda noticed it enough to pull away, placing his hands into his pockets as he looks down towards the team that's... laying on the ground. a few of them are hurt, others seem used to it which also gives off the impression this is how things go. )

One of them happens to be the Captain of the team! He's coming back next month, and I think he'd you'd two get along. ( he laughs shortly, sheepish as he looks down to the ground. ) But you don't need help making friends, do you?

[ Normally Sara can be kind of rough, but it's in a very friendly way. Here though...
He's already trying not to think about it. Joe's eyes flick back over to the game, and he tilts his head as he follows them moving up and down the field. ]
You really think so? Heh... I wouldn't say it's hard for me, but honestly, if you wouldn't mind introducing us, I'd definitely appreciate it! It'd certainly make the transition easier.
[ There are a lot of people he doesn't understand here, and Komaeda is definitely up there. But Joe doesn't try to belittle anyone for it. If anything, he think it's his fault for not understanding. ]

( he places a hand on his own hip, looking towards the field, and komaeda finds that joe's personality is probably one that his friend can deal with — he's not annoying and loud, and those people tend to make him uncomfortable. then again, perhaps it won't matter when he's on the field again, but he thinks the other will be fine. )
He's a third year, so we can catch him before he goes home.
( he smiles softly as he turns his attention back to joe, and with a raise of his brow, it's like the other said something foreign. ) Nope! I don't like the idea of running around like a dog...

I'll come to watch though, but even then... I think my presence isn't wanted... ( anyway!! ) Is soccer a favorite sport of yours? You seem athletic enough.

[ Joe really doesn't. He's drifting around here, and it doesn't feel very good. So the idea of maybe meeting and joining a team definitely interests him. He's always enjoyed sports too, so he thinks it might be good. Hopefully he can keep up! ]
Ahaha what's wrong with running around like a dog? I think it's fun! Maybe not for everyone though.
[ He lightly punches Komaeda's arm, though. ]

( snagged a day with joe...? a success, or is it a curse because while komaeda's about to respond happily to the idea of introducing people, he flinches at the punch. not because it hurts, but because he knows it's going the bruise, it's like when someone almost knocks into something and says "ow" even though they weren't hit. )

( he lifts his prosthetic arm, rubbing the area where he was punched as if to rub away the oncoming bruise. )
If you want, we can play fetch sometime, and that's probably as far as I'll go with sports. ( even as that's said, a soccer ball rolls in their direction that hits at komaeda's feet, and he slowly passes it over to joe for him to have. ) Now you can have three activities to enjoy! Basketball, soccer, and fetch! The triunal of man!

Yeah sure! Wouldn't be the first time someone's called me that! I don't think it's wrong ahaha!
[ He does groan at the suggestion of fetch but doesn't try to fight it.
His eyes flick down to the ball, and he reaches down to pick it up. It feels natural in his arms (even if it's a soccerball), and it feels good to have something to look forward to. ]

( which he may not do, but he can never tell with soccer captains, they are quite weird people when they feel like they own the sport. so komaeda squats down towards the ground, and he sits perfectly after as he looks up to joe with the soccerball in his hand, and komaeda comes to a decision. )
You really look the part, I really think you should join... You can even meet Amami-kun! He's an Ultimate, so your team will certainly prosper.
( clapping his hands together, he holds them out like he's waiting for joe to kick it into his hands. they have to be talented at that, right? might as well check him. )

[ Joe lets the ball drop, and with the turn of his heel, he's able to kick it back up into the air. He manages to keep balanced on one foot while juggling to ball by kicking it up and down. He rarely feels good at things, but this is something he has some confidence in. He's no ace by any means, but this is fun for him at least. ]
Ahaha yeah? What'd you mean by ultmiate?
[ He's that good? Joe would like to see that!
With a smile, he lets the ball drop again, and as it hits the ground, he kicks it toward Komaeda. It's by no means a hard kick, but it could be a little much for him no matter how much Joe tries to soften the blow. ]

( he claps his hands, pleased by the visual, and he tries to recall what's the name of that move so he can relay it to his friend upon his return. even though the other was worried, the way he goes about it shows that his motions are fluid, and he'd be excellent on the field from komaeda's point of view. )
Ultimates are a group of people who are special, and talented in a certain field! They're a pretty big deal... they have tons of hope, and will be who brightens the world for everyone here.
( he smiles softly, watching as the ball is kicked towards him — considerably thoughtful for someone who punched him, and will most likely leave a bruise. )
Do you have people like that back home? ( he spins the ball in his hand for a moment, throwing it up a few times, and then he throws it over to joe to see if he can catch it with his foot... truly is like playing fetch. )
