It might be nice to say that absolutely none of them did, but that isn't the truth, and Natsume eats a little more of the pasteli before he answers. He's thinking about the question, even if there's really only one answer, and it's for personal reasons, too. )

The ones that occurred in September, with the soul switchING. That's the type of thing you expect to read about in manga or see in anime or a video GAME, so naturally it piqued my interEST.

It really is a new experience for you, isn't it? As you've realized, that isn't the case for many other people here, even those you would expect nothing out of the ordinary for.

[ People who are just normal people, doing normal things... when their "normal" is soul switching and memory stealing and being a magician is the most mundane thing in comparison. ]

Depends on who you ask. You have a sensei capable of such things already.

[ There's the slightest of raised eyebrows at the mention of Kazuki's name before his expression settles again, amusement alight instead when Natsume tests the waters with such a question. ]

Is there anybody who is not? [ It's interesting? Extremely so, the marvels of the human ability to do whatever they want, whatever it takes. ] Especially a quack doctor from a mental asylum.

Ability and willingness are two different things. But the answer to your question is "yes."

[ Unspoken, the other answer is no. Regret, after all, is a powerful catalyst for growth, and who is he to stop it from festering? ]

Nope! That's all them. I would have a lot of work on my hands if I had to reorganize the memories of every student in this school, now wouldn't I?

You'd only have to do it as they come BACK. As long as a student doesn't DIE, you don't have to reorganize anything for THEM... Though I won't disagree it sounds like a lot of WORK.

Is them remembering their real lives—the one before arriving HERE, like the rest of us did—also on THEM?

Of course. I am not the one who holds the key to all the drawers and closets of one's mind. I simply help them find the one they're looking for.

[ You could say that's the basis of counseling. To be empathetic, understanding, objective, and delve into a person's mind to retrieve what's long been buried. ]

It's easier on some than others. If I may ask, what do you to do clear the clutter from your mind? Mental clarity is the first step in remembering.

( Not one that springs to mind immediately, at least. Sure, he goes to talk to (at) someone, and sometimes that helps—but that's more of clearing up questions rather than settling down to clear something from his mind.

The closest thing might be experimentation, testing scents against one another or trying new spellwork and recipes in cooking... Things to keep his hands busy, his mind occupied until it's ready to pick at things again, yet that isn't really the answer, either. The second closest thing might just be focusing on his magic, calling it and building a galaxy slowly on the bunk above him... Hmm. )
