Depth perception when you have another set of eyes. Arata-san, to find hope, you have to work together... even someone as incompetent as me knows that. Everyone views the world a certain way because we're different, so what we see when it comes to a single person, and what they see about themselves is different.
( komaeda's ill, mentally and physically, but he'd say he's the most normal people whereas someone else can come to the conclusions that something isn't right. besides, counselor has been here for awhile, and having small talk, while injured, should be fine. )

I've never been fond with making things about me, I never expect to live long through the year.
( that's true, he always believes dying is the correct choice for him, but here he is... dead, but also alive. if he dies, when he dies, he believes his soul wouldn't keep this form, and that it would erase from existence. it's difficult when all he knows is to be used, or die trying, but talking with counselor is supposed to help him sort his thoughts. it's still difficult. )
