Ranger shrugs. He understands soccer well enough, but sees no reason to make any particular calls here. His area of expertise was in medical and technology, along with several other areas, but he finds those running their respective groups tend to be able to determine well enough what's needed and who should be slotted into where. If he finds himself displeased with that determination, it's easy enough to go from there... Well, either way, this seems to suit his purposes for the moment. ]

If he's never played, I'm going to make him try out each position. [ but yeah he is leaning towards whatever position Amami plays and pretends not to be biased ]
The guarantee that the opposing team won't be able to make a goal is nice and all, but you have to score in order to win, and you can see a lot more in the middle of things. If you don't like people getting rough with you, it's just as well: you want to keep yourself and the ball away from the other players, so you can advance without interruption and have a clear shot at the opposing goal.

He doesn't show much of a reaction, but perhaps the fact that he's paying attention is enough to signify that he's satisfied with the direction of the conversation. True to his words, he prefers to hear the thoughts of others, and now is no different. ]
Sure. Sounds like it's just like any other game, there's a lot of moving parts to it, and you gotta be able to coordinate and strategize... Ahaha, 30 times? Pretty impressive. Must have put a lot of effort into getting that good.
[ It sounds interesting enough. He supposes this must be something he's passionate about. But the last part is genuine at least. It doesn't really matter what it is, Ranger likes people who put effort into bettering themselves.

[ Years and years and years... But there is that warm little point of pride that makes him almost smile, something like validation, acknowledgement of effort and dedication and hard work that is so easily mistaken for talent. ]

( as if they're here for komaeda's entertainment, but that isn't the case. being able to see these two here talk about something on almost common ground makes him happy, he doesn't really get why, but maybe it's the fact that it's going relatively well. he's so used to his luck ruining things like this which makes him a little nervous, and he's settling his hands across his stomach to dig his nails into the fabric. )
Rokkun, I don't want you to go easy, you'll be proud once you realize who you recruited.
( there's faith that ranger can do some pretty amazing things, and he can already imagine him obtaining a spot where he'll be able to play with amami as well, and there's rokkun leading the team, and they can have those sports pictures.

[ There's something to be said about sticking with something for such a long period of time. It's not an issue for him, but in particular since coming here he's seen how quickly others can be to take up things and discard them.
A single person's project could span 30 years and encompass countless lives, lead to a multitude of progress, and so much more - all just for a single goal. He doesn't really have to worry about things like that, and an AI functioning as intended is of no interest, so he waves it off. ]
Mmn, yeah, you shouldn't have to worry about that. I'm used to shaking things off. You kinda gotta be.
