[12/24] SNOWBALL FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT

In the evening after exams are over and everyone's already exhausted because of test taking and also the murder from a few days earlier (it's fine), there's a note posted on each dorm room's door indicating that there's going to be a SNOWBALL FIGHT in the courtyard in Noah's mildly-undecipherable handwriting, which is then followed by a couple rules...

1. Using magic isn't allowed (it's unfair to people who don't have it)
2. Don't put rocks in the snowballs
3. Don't KILL EACH OTHER

Those are the rules. Anyway, if you don't come join the snowball fight Noah Will come and shove snow down your shirt and run off, so you might as well come play with everyone else! There's like, three feet of snow on the ground probably, so making ice tunnels and forts and such for defense from flying snow is allowed and encouraged.

OOC notes: This is technically a mingle or something so please feel free to set up your own toplevels/starters or literally just start hurling snowballs at the first person who passes you by. Basically treat this like a network post and go off on each other! Also you do not have to snowball fight, all Snow Activities are allowed.

[ When it comes to the snow wars...Sara plays to win. She'd arrived early, and by the time people had begun trickling in: Sara has already built an official fort in the corner of the courtyard and has begun amassing her own personal arsenal. A stack of snowballs sits beside her as she peeks out from her fort waiting for someone to arrive and then....!

WHAM! ]

Hah! Gotcha!

[And then there's Noah who's still trying to drag people to come play, who happens to walk outside with someone else at the perfect opportunity to just get slammed.]

Hey—!

[Noah swats snow off of his face before he spots Sara, hello, hi, your reckoning comes... after he leans down real quick to make a snowball and launch it back.]

[ Leaning down to make a snowball was his first mistake. Sara has prepared hers ahead of time, and that gives her a perfect amount of time to whale three more at him while he fumbles in the snow. Noah is literally missing an eye and she's acting like this...I'm sorry.

At least her overconfidence means his counterattack is completely successful. ]

Wauuugh! You'll pay for that, Noah. This is for saying eggs aren't a soup!

[Normally, Shin would stay as far away from this as possible. Snowball fights seem like a possibly fun kid thing in theory? At least that's what it always seems to look like. But in practice it's cold, he's bad at throwing, and there's a part of his brain utterly convinced people would take it as an excuse to gang up on him.

That said, Noah doesn't even need to get snow down his neck; a certain two people get there first, and that means It's On.]

C'mon, pincer maneuver! We'll attack from both sides!

[If he can't throw well, there's always strategy.]

[Sidney is only spared from snowball fighting because Noah's dragging him outside to do something completely different after he's had his share of getting his ass handed to him absolutely decimating everyone obviously. That is...

Snowman! Snowmen? Snowdudes. Because Noah has never made one... please help!]

( ... theoretically, anyways. it's been a very long time since he's done this sort of thing, and yogen and louisiana's climate are pretty different in a lot of ways. sidney stands with his hand in his coat pocket- at least he was able to get one from the school store. )

You start by making a snowball. ( the snow is definitely packable, given the earlier antics. ) Once it's packed nice and firm, you roll it through the snow on the ground to make it bigger.

[Yes... snowman theory, it's all coming together. Or something. Noah isn't letting Sidney get away without helping him though, so after he's started a snowball and rolled it a bit so that it's bigger (by wandering in a vague oval or maybe a really crooked circle for a bit), he's quick to drag Sidney over by his wrist to come help.]

I've never made one. I didn't expect snow to be this heavy.

[Noah has it in his head that they need to build a Large Snowman, apparently.]

[ Oh Joe's not gonna miss out on this! He joins in as soon as it starts, barely getting his coat on as he runs out the door. He's probably one of the first one throwing snowballs too! While he's fast in motion, it's pretty easy to overwhelm him when he's standing still.

At some point, he'll find shelter to catch his breath. Then he uses his big brain he crammed so much studying into and begins to gather up snow.

Whether you're observing from a distance or trying to sneak up on him, it's pretty easy to see Joe's making a giant snowball. Bigger than his head which is already huge due to the ungodly amount of hair he has! And when he sees someone getting to close, he'll raise the thing in threat. ]

Back off!! I'll use this if I have to!

[ Runs up behind him and tries to dump snow down his shirt. ]

AAOAOOOUUUUGH-!!

[ Joe lets out the most unholiest screech. He tries to shake out the snow but only manages to lose his balance. He falls flat on his snow filled back, and his giant snowball lands on his face, engulfing his head. ]

[ Ramuda knows what snowballs are, what snowball fights are, but partaking in them is another thing entirely. He's never really done it before, nor has he really had a traditional Christmas, but he's choosing to sit in the snow and form his own snowball in a corner of the field for a moment.

He makes one and smiles to himself for a moment, looking a little proud of himself, before he turns to the nearest person with a grin on his face. ]

Hey, hey! Over here!

[ He launches it towards his target! Think fast! ]

[The target does not think fast and gets beaned in the head! D'oh!

Noah sputters and quickly swats snow off of his face before turning around and launching one back, except this one is hastily-formed and doesn't really stick together all that well.

He ducks behind a tree nearby to try and hide afterwards, which leaves him open to get thwacked again!]

[ As the snowball fight rages on, there seems to be a certain someone sitting on a chair by one of the windows, looking on. He has a soft smile on his face that's a little sad, and he's wrapped up in a bunch of blankets as always. He also has some of his textbooks on the ground next to him, one open in his lap as if he were in the middle of reading it. Anyone who approaches Riku to try and get him to go outside will be politely declined, or perhaps he'll give a response that's a little more frantic depending on the method.

Either way, it's clear that he's dead set on staying indoors. If someone approaches and looks like they just wanna chill out, too, Riku will turn to them with a little smile -- ]

Oh, you aren't joining them? It looks fun, though! You should if you can.

[ While he's content to just spectate, he won't say no to company, either. ]

Kehehe, maybe later. I tend to get cold fast, so I figure I'll just "chill" in here for now.

[ Pun absolutely intended. Senku settles down in another chair nearby Riku- he's in his own science-themed blanket, courtesy of Nene. Senku Ishigami is a twig- so he'll easily freeze out there. Sure he's got a jacket and everything, but he's not taking the chance at the moment. Maybe during the back half of the fights. But, he's happy people still have enough hope in their hearts to do something so lighthearted in such a dire place. ]

With the way you're situated, I'm guessing you're not intending on getting pelted with snowballs either?

[ Oh, there's a full on snowball fight now, huh? Well, that's good enough for her! It's been pretty fun already this week, so she might as well get some time in outside as well!

But, she'll need a little bit of help, right? So she's made about four or five snowmen to hide behind, a few taller and wider than she is. Then when she spots someone passing by, she breaks cover to chuck a snowball right at 'em before hiding again.

The snowmen are attacking?! ]

[ Herlock Sholmes absolutely gets beaned in the side of the face with a snowball- you've got good aim, BB! Now, the following happens in a span of five seconds:

The detective blinks as he wipes the snow off of his face, looking to the left, to the right, before he settles on the squad of snowmen staring him down. Naturally, since he's aware that magic exists in this place now, his mind immediately jumps to "oh god, the snowmen are ALIVE time to BOX" and the dukes are up. ]

So, you wintery wastrels think it's funny to pelt the Great Detective with a ball of snow? Have at you then- two can play at that game!

[ He goes to make his own snowball and chuck it at the snowmen, who haven't moved a millimeter since. ]

[ The snow connects and... naturally, smacks right into the snowball. The small "thump" gets her giggling, and she feels like she's gotta up the ante just a little bit. ]

Help, help! They've got me!

[ She still refuses to show herself, but she can play the damsel in distress! ]

[He was never one to participate in events like this, but that didn't mean he wouldn't support Noah in his endeavor to make things lively and fun around here. So he showed up, of course, all warm with a cup of hot tea, sitting somewhere hopefully far enough away that he wouldn't get hit by a stray snowball.

He feels like an old man watching kids play in the backyard a little.]

[Boo it's Noah, who appears and debates throwing snow at Yukio and then sees the tea and decides he'll be nice until the tea is done. You have Ten Minutes, sir.

Noah, covered in snow, still fucking injured because I set this like 2 days after the practicum ended, comes and plops down in a higher embankment of snow like it's a throne except dear Elria his ass is cold now oh well—]

You're not going to come play?

[He seems to bring the tea closer to himself. Is it to keep his hands and torso warm or maybe in hopes of not being attached?

Who knows.]

I'm not much of a snowball fight.... Person.

[When Rika sees the actual glistening snow she can't help but get excited; it's been way too long since she's actually seen it, and that's something that puts a smile on her face - in spite of the rest of the situation being just absolutely awful.

At the first person she sees, she doesn't throw a snowball at them at all.

Instead, she smiles, innocently, proud of herself--]

Mii. Do you want to team up with me? In order to win a war, you need to amass as many resources as you can, right?

[At everybody else, however, people may notice her helping building someone's fort, sneaking around to trip and destroy someone else's fort or even doing some other unrelated snow activities.

( oh... rika... nene smiles and nods, before pointing at noah on the field and then back at her- if nene comes, so is noah! they're a set. and considering noah is a tiny little battle gremlin and nene is probably going to be underestimated- if not handled with gentle gloves- then rika's really coming out with two strong units... because nene has an arm. )
