✽ At the stoke of midnight, something shatters on the ground floor in front of the bulletin board, and the entire school goes dark: all electricity gets shut off, all flames are snuffed out, and the sky is heavily overcast to hide the moon and the stars. The only source of light are the suncatchers purchased from the student store, but even those fully charged will start to dim and go out over the next three days.
✽ Nene, Hinata, Noah, Amami, and Komaeda will smell something burning, and if they pull out their PDAs, it is hot to the touch and the casing is cracked, like something had blown from the inside, and their PDAs will not be working. For everybody else, the screen flickers when they press their thumb to their PDAs, and then goes dark again. ...
✽ If anybody was inside the main school building at midnight, I am so sorry, and for everybody else who enters the building afterwards, please watch your step. The appearance and atmosphere of the school has changed to that of the "void school" and can not be reverted upon breaking a mirror. Please refer to the aforementioned link for details about the school.
✽ As of midnight, no npcs can be found inside the school, including the library ghost, the gardener, and the cats. If a character were near an npc at midnight, it would appear as if they'd disappeared into the shadows the moment the world went dark.

??? whenever you guys solve the void

✽ 01/10 marks the beginning of the final semester, and when npc students and faculty will return to school. Of the ~260 npc students enrolled at the start of December, only ~40 npc students return to school, with the other three quarters having their names crossed off the class roster in the locker area. In light of the rapidly shrinking student body, homerooms will be consolidated by year, creating a single class for each of the first, second, and third years.
✽ The countdown in front of the bulletin board has reached zero, and the glass tube appears to have shattered and bled out onto the floor, to nobody's surprise. The mess will be cleaned up by the end of the week, and in its place is a notice for the school trip taking place next month. Please see the toplevel below for more details.
✽ The science lab is now open. Add will probably elbow people out of the way getting here, but he gets dibs on the anatomical model: it is warm to the touch, and rather than being made of plastic, the skin, muscle, bones, other organs feel very much real. He thinks they might be. The rest of the room is set up like a typical research lab, with all the basic chemicals and equipment: a refrigerator, liquid nitrogen storage tank, sonicator, incubator, autoclave, laminar flow cabinet, mass spectrometer, and a high performance liquid chromatography system.
✽ It snows on and off and the sky remains overcast with no sign of the sun all month.

✽ Please give the temporary locations page a thorough read! The most noticeable changes aside from the usual void school appearance is the scattered void, lack of electricity in both the school and the dorm, and the ability to walk off campus. The setting will remain as is until the characters figure out how to revert the change, or on 01/10, whichever comes first.
✽ PDAs will be inoperable until fixed. Tech-savvy characters may realize that the PDAs are powered through inductive charging, and the first step to getting them (also electrical appliances and hot water) to work again is to locate the generator.
✽ All npcs will be ICly unavailable until we unvoid the school.

[ Oh, it's her. Ranger's been doing nothing but exploring these last few days, digging around and checking every nook and cranny for anything that might have changed or be out of place. He's currently rummaging through desks. ]

The whole place is a dump. We oughta just condemn it and tear it down.

[ It's unsettling for him, albeit for different reasons. It's been difficult enough to adjust to the school, but to be surrounded by filth like this for days was a bit much for an AI that's used to what were largely well-maintained and sanitary conditions. ]

Well, at least it doesn't look like anything's gonna pop out from the floorboards and start dragging people down.

[ Down beneath the floor, across over to the void, whatever horror story they might wish to recreate. ]

[Satou's gaze slips to her feet and a shudder runs down her back. She hadn't even imagined that kind of horror. Thanks, Ranger. She'll sleep great at night now.

She brushes her skirt free of dust and comb through her hair, distracting the horrors with vanity. Plus she'd like to look presentable for Ranger- She's determined to make him a friend and all.]

You have a wild imagination, Ranger-san. But if something did pop up, it would mean there were more floors, right? [Satou taps her foot on the floor,] When you have a problem, start at the foundation~ Maybe we need to go to the basement?

[rearranger]

[ He had only meant it as a joke, but he supposes most people would be a little on edge in a place like this. Ranger looks down and nods. ]

If I had to guess, I'd say whatever we're looking for is on either outside or underground.

[ Whether that be the roof or out front, but it seems unlikely that it would be hidden in an easily accessible place. ]

Supposedly there's no basement, but I mean, there's gotta be some hidden compartments in a place like this, don'tchya think?

[ Hidden entrances that led to passageways and rooms, there were all kinds of fun mysteries like that in stories. ]

I think that would make sense... This place does have a spooky vibe to it.

[Ugh, what she would do to have her magic back right now. That would make this hunt so much easier. Her empathy can be very useful when navigating abandoned places like this older school dimension.]

The foundation in this case would be a basement level or... Where we started?

[So the place where the timer was? Or does she need to go all of the way back to the tree?]

I dunno if there's a basement.

[ Ranger hums thoughtfully, considering where a good place to look would be. It's a school, so there's only so many places that they can look. The outside is probably out, it's too cold for most humans, and it seems unlikely that there will be anything of value in the dorms. ]

Might as well start with the rooms around here. Just about all of the staff rooms are on this floor, one of them's bound to have something of value.

Looking is the best that we can do, ne?

[Satou sighs. As she stands again, she begins to fuss with the dust on her skirt and wrinkles on her shirt.]

... If only I had my magic. I would be able to look for so much more if I had it. Like if anyone had been here recently.

Yeah, that's about it.

[ There's no need to start anywhere in particular, but he'll start by moving in the direction of the faculty office. There might be something of interest there. ]

Hm? How can you tell?

Remember that sixth sense that I told you about?

It lets me sense emotions. I can feel traces of peoples' feelings on items, too. I would probably be able to tell if anyone had an emotional attachment to anything in the rooms too, but... [She sighs.] Alas.

Hm, that would be useful here... Well, nothing wrong with doing it the old fashioned way.

[ But seeing as it's possible she'll get it back - ]

How long does that kinda thing last for? Does it dissipate over time?
