♪ my class trial, our class trial ♫
Who: Everyone + Hiro if ori wants
When: January 12th, then anytime past January 15th
Where: Common Room
What: please let's wake steph and also maybe prove miyuki innocent if he really is
Warnings: tbd
[there is no gentle way to do this on the pda.
but you know what that is perfectly fine they were doing CSI rp earlier what's one more--]
All hands, round up.
Think we've got as much as we can right now, so let's settle in and work it out -- together. Come to the usual meet-up spot as soon as you can, and we're not leaving until the perp's worked out. Bring your own joe and a wit sharp as can be, because we are in for the long haul.
Detective Akamatsu, signing out.
[...
a-anyway.
meng yao's done his best to preserve one (1) stephanie meanswell and she's currently laying on the couch in a state some may find familiar and others not at all, but she's very much alive -- if barely. have your shock and surprise, this is going to be once all evidence is collected icly. also after noah and kaede make a grave for miss vp god rest her soul.
...
hiro is allowed to be here, if he wants, if only because part of this is his sister's death and one of y'all had BETTER take care of him.
there are no snacks, no drinks unless you byoj (bring your own joe), and kaede will wait until... all or presumably all are filed in before she speaks.]
I hate to say this, but you all are easily more experienced with this than I am... Still, there's no reason to wait on this when one of our classmates has turned up dead, and another [she is assuming stephanie is theirs] is in the state that she is. I don't want to think one of us had anything to do with it, but turning away from the truth only invites more pain--
So let's lay out what we know and try not to go at each others' throats about it.
[please. even the most unbelievable, impossible happenings have roots to them, and she wants it solved -- not just for hiro's sake, who's pain is something she can barely imagine, but for stephanie and the vice principal, too.]

[You don't spend however long painstakingly nailing someone to the ceiling if it would just be easier to toss someone else out a window if you didn't want to make some kind of point... or cause some kind of reaction.]
It wasn't immediately noticeable... but the dripping blood was. It wasn't going to last very long as a hidden spot.
[Even when the flow stopped, there were still the spots on the floor. That'd give someone pause, Shin thinks. Then again, how often do you look up in a room?]
We'd have needed to investigate at some point, Miss... [Wait, he doesn't know her name, is she new?] So... someone would have to go in.
[But... she has a point that seeing it directly would have been a bit arresting. Would he have gone in, if it weren't for Miyuki's own paralysis?]
no subject
It was definitely a message. She's hesitant to assign a meaning to it just yet, but it doesn't sound like an accident or a clumsy mistake.]
he location is just out of your average line of sight. If it was just about the display, you could use a wall or the floor. But the extra effort to put someone on the ceiling...
Mm. I agree that someone wanted us to see their crime. [Was the shock also on purpose, then?] Ah- Sorry. I barged in without an introduce. I'm Satou Kuroneko.
no subject
Right. People have been talking about how whoever it was probably needed either magic or help... So we might be looking at more than one person responsible. Either they were working together or coerced... but that's getting ahead of ourselves, isn't it?
[Oh, right, manners...]
Ah, it's okay. Nice to meet you, Miss Satou.
[It's not the greatest of circumstances, unfortunately.]
no subject
[That might be a good thing to note. Satou can imagine that it wouldn't be horrendously difficult to get a body up there on her own if she had her abilities back... She really needs to regain them.]
Let's say that the presentation was a message. Who do we know would go into that room on a daily basis? Or had reason to go in on that day?
no subject
[One of the many things that bothers him, as much as any potential for concealed weaponry...]
Off the top of my head... Noah, Clamor and Lucifer have magic, as well as anyone those last two have taught... Don't know if it's the sort of magic that holds people to ceilings. Ahaha, even I have magic, although not that kind.
[Wait, speaking of that kind... Hang on a minute.]
...Add can do things with gravity.
[He's not interacted with him in any substantial capacity but from just working in the same room and what he's casually mentioned while relaying things to the group... that's fairly clear.]
no subject
and after that amazing protag speech only a few days ago, too... oh, kaede is feeling that.]
I guess he'd be the one to ask about anything regarding that then, huh?
[whether pressing him about things or otherwise.]
no subject
First of all, what I do isn't magic. Spatiotemporal manipulation is entirely quantifiable through scientific means, that includes altering the forces of gravity. Just because you don't understand my methods doesn't make them "magic". [you can hear those airquotes, fuck u for calling his bullshit crystal-powered void science magical]
Second, if you're serious about implying something as idiotic as me being a suspect, I wouldn't bother with all these irritating theatrics if I wanted someone dead. More importantly, I couldn't care less about any of the people involved in this. Stop wasting your time on reaching and start looking at the actual evidence.
no subject
[holy shit it talked?!?!?
shin if she's standing slightly behind you no she is not.]
U-Uh... Sorry, but I hadn't meant to imply you that way, um... Add-kun...?
[that's... speaking through it... yes. by bach that is sending her heart into a frenzy.]
I just wanted to know more about it, honestly. There isn't exactly an easy way to explain Arisu-san's body being in the state it was in save for something to do with... the forces of gravity in some way, be it through a scientific, magical, or purely physical strength means. And if you were here, you'd know we have been looking at the actual evidence -- pretty thoroughly, too.
[bitch]
no subject
I suppose you're not wrong... nailing a body to the ceiling would require either multiple culprits working together, or one individual with the ability to raise the body and nail it up at the same time. An ordinary human wouldn't be able to pull that off alone.
If it's someone with supernatural abilities, though... kekeke, perhaps you could test a theory of mine? Tomorrow morning... ask the suspected individuals to display their abilities. If those abilities have been mysteriously lost, then there's a high probability they killed someone within the last twenty-four hours.
no subject
I'd rather not wait that long, for the sake of the grieving, but we'll keep it in mind. Though... what makes you so sure that'll happen?
[sure she'll ask]
no subject
This occurred weeks ago during finals, so my abilities have since returned without issue. Also, there's insufficient sample data to draw any solid conclusions from this single point alone, unless others who have killed recently can corroborate... but if they have the correct skillset, a motive, or any other supporting evidence to suggest they killed one or both of the victims, it'd be a quick and simple thing to check for.
no subject
going to close her eyes a moment. center. think of calming music. waterfall. swan lake. clair de lune. this guy, for all his speech the other day, really did not think two things about killing. no remorse. no guilt. at least he's honest. but the fact it's not recommended just because of that?]
...
[oh, she has such an issue.]
So you wouldn't mind turning up for a similar check, Add-kun? Just in case.
no subject
If I were the culprit, wouldn't it make more sense to keep that information to myself rather than divulge something that would incriminate me...? But if it'll make you stop annoying me, sure, I can make time in my schedule.
no subject
[ Smacks her hand down on the speaker like a very forceful headpat. Sorry new roommate!! Add is um...he is...er... Well Sara would say he's a good kid at heart but it turns out he is actually just a very immature hot guy! But um...He needs some guidance, thats all! ]
Because he made a pinky promise about killing people, and I'm sure he kept it! So its no trouble! Right??
[ Jesus christ eighteen people she also wants to lie down. She knew his first day of exams left him scared and wounded but it was EIGHTEEN PEOPLE? SHE HEARD RUMORS ABOUT THAT SHE DIDN'T REALIZE IT WAS HIM.
Leans toward Kaede. ]
Sorry Akamatsu-san he can be a little rude at first.
no subject
she's deciding she really likes her new roommate. kaede'll give her a grateful smile, shaking her head.]
Thank you, Chidouin-san, I know the type. I'm sure we'll warm up to one another the more we talk -- I was really impressed with how he held himself the other day, so I know he can't be all that of a bad guy.
[just a shameless murdering jerk]
no subject
...
sara doesn't have to know about that one, it's fine
LOUD THROAT-CLEARING stop talking about his embarrassing speech please—] Anyway... incidents like these are a nuisance, so I'll provide my assistance where its necessary. Let's resolve this quickly so we can go back to focusing on our escape plan.
no subject
[ Character development...cute. Sara is glad Kaede seems to be taking it well, because the last thing she needs is for Add to start backsliding when he's finally getting better at working with others. Its a far cooler head then how Sara would have taken it, if she hadn't already known Add had killed before. They can...deal with the eighteen students thing when they don't have a more current murder... ]]
Don't let him bully you. Or um...threaten to kill you? Geez, there's so many of this type here. But he's not a bad kid...guy.
[ Ahhh wait she messed up. Ignore her, cool roommate. She turns to the dynamo. ] That's right, you will help! I'm glad we all agree. Now...please apologize to Akamatsu-san?
no subject
What do I have to apologize for? Everything I've said is a statement of fact. If anything, I deserve an apology for implying my involvement and misrepresenting my skills.
no subject
How does your manipulation of gravity work, Add-kun? I'll give a full apology if you can explain it to me -- don't worry about losing me in the middle of it, I might not understand it entirely but I won't doubt your word.
[she has a point to make.]
no subject
Ranger's just been kind of hanging around listening to what people are saying, but he's coming closer now because he wants to hear this explanation too. Science. ]
no subject
( akamatsu-san??? )
no subject
[it's not like she looks at something or hears it and goes oh, i know exactly how this is! she takes the time to understand it by listening to others and how they play it.]

Add sighs, then a large purple holoscreen flickers into existence next to Dynamo. please just assume it gradually fills up with more and more incomprehensible equations and cool looking diagrams that probably support what he's saying, maybe.]
Gravity is a product of the physical masses of interacting objects, so to alter the gravitational force applied to or produced by any one object we would need to alter the mass of one or both objects, or the properties of gravity being applied between them... attempting to alter the pull of something as large as a planet would be incredibly energy-inefficient, so instead a field is created that can contains altered spatiotemporal properties. El energy produced by high-quality moonstones is capable of vibrating at the frequencies necessary for this procedure, using this equation to distort the surrounding environmental El and creating a microscopic hole into the adjacent dimensional plane of Henir—or void, as most of you would be more familiar with. Gravitational forces produced by objects created within Henir have incredibly volatile properties, so by combining Henir energies with pure El energies as a stabilizer we can apply just enough Henir to negate the target's normal interactions with physical mass, as if they were an object of Henir... bear in mind that "negate the target's normal interactions" doesn't necessarily mean they have to be weightless, we can also use the same field to greatly amplify the perceived weight of a target, or to switch the direction of gravitational pull towards the centre of the produced field. A similar effect can also be produced by concentrating large amounts of El into a singular point, which creates a miniature black hole... of course, such a mass is difficult to maintain for more than a handful of seconds at a time, especially if it's calculated to apply a large amount of force on surrounding objects. Komaeda's arm has been outfitted with such a device, so ask him if you want a demonstration.
Is that a sufficient explanation, or should I attempt to dumb it down further?
