♪ my class trial, our class trial ♫
Who: Everyone + Hiro if ori wants
When: January 12th, then anytime past January 15th
Where: Common Room
What: please let's wake steph and also maybe prove miyuki innocent if he really is
Warnings: tbd
[there is no gentle way to do this on the pda.
but you know what that is perfectly fine they were doing CSI rp earlier what's one more--]
All hands, round up.
Think we've got as much as we can right now, so let's settle in and work it out -- together. Come to the usual meet-up spot as soon as you can, and we're not leaving until the perp's worked out. Bring your own joe and a wit sharp as can be, because we are in for the long haul.
Detective Akamatsu, signing out.
[...
a-anyway.
meng yao's done his best to preserve one (1) stephanie meanswell and she's currently laying on the couch in a state some may find familiar and others not at all, but she's very much alive -- if barely. have your shock and surprise, this is going to be once all evidence is collected icly. also after noah and kaede make a grave for miss vp god rest her soul.
...
hiro is allowed to be here, if he wants, if only because part of this is his sister's death and one of y'all had BETTER take care of him.
there are no snacks, no drinks unless you byoj (bring your own joe), and kaede will wait until... all or presumably all are filed in before she speaks.]
I hate to say this, but you all are easily more experienced with this than I am... Still, there's no reason to wait on this when one of our classmates has turned up dead, and another [she is assuming stephanie is theirs] is in the state that she is. I don't want to think one of us had anything to do with it, but turning away from the truth only invites more pain--
So let's lay out what we know and try not to go at each others' throats about it.
[please. even the most unbelievable, impossible happenings have roots to them, and she wants it solved -- not just for hiro's sake, who's pain is something she can barely imagine, but for stephanie and the vice principal, too.]

FINGERPRINTING
For someone who tells others to rest for exactly this reason, he'd been overextending himself for a while, and it called due.
It does mean when he woke up he was very worried to find the meeting had been over for a while but it looks like Hiro hadn't stabbed anyone while he was out? So there's that at least.
And it means that when the new one reconvenes, he already has what he needs, including the promised photo files for Ranger. He's carefully taken the finger prints off the hammer handle and taped them down to dark blue paper for ease of viewing, and now it's just a matter of getting everyone's to compare.
Come on up and roll your fingers on ink and press them to paper! He's looking at you, Bonnie.]
no subject
You were actually serious about that? [ Coming right out of the gate with this nonsense, huh. ]
no subject
[He's got a grin on. It's become important now.]
no subject
What're you going to do with the fingerprints when we're done with this? Can't say I like having some rando having info on me, even after an investigation.
no subject
['Some rando'... ow. But he is, though.]
It'd be useful to keep everyone's just in case, wouldn't it? This probably won't be the last murder we ever have, after all.
[He hates that that's a normal thought here.]
Sorry, I've been mean enough... I'll give you your card back after comparing them. Keep it, burn it... whatever you'd like.
[Keeping it might be useful if they ever have to do this again, but it's their fingerprints. Shin's had experience with people touching their sticky fingers all over his life and his habits and his thoughts, so he knows the need for privacy well.]

Still, this part of it's not that difficult... so, he'll go ahead and contribute his fingerprints. Hoping, naturally, they don't match what was on the hammer. ]
no subject
...Shin's not going to bring up leaving him hanging if he won't.]
no subject
But uh... he can definitely tell Shin isn't at 100%. So even if they aren't on the best of terms, he can't help but worry. ]
...Do you need any help with this?
no subject
[Can't be sure until it's certain you didn't do it, says the gremlin in Shin's brain that is currently thinking about evidence tampering.]
Ahaha, I'm good. If you really want to help, just ask people without ink on their hands to come up.
[He can get through this... there's only 34 of them... Honestly that is something that's not his strength, it's been good people have been listening to him as much as they have. If Joe's anything like Sara, he's got some charisma as well.]

I am thrilled to utilize such a scientifically sound method! Hopefully this shall multiply the efficiency of our investigations!

[Shin's like a dog that's never quite sure what to do once it's caught it's tail; he wants to be respected and liked, looked up to and relied on, but also fears it. Ishimaru standing at attention like he's actually the teacher he feels imposter syndrome about being is... bringing it home a bit.]
...Surprised it's taken this long, really. Maybe we're getting a little too used to this...
[It's been on his mind, lately.]
no subject
I would hope that's not the case... but with all of the incidents I've experienced at this point, it is hard to deny that possibility outright. [He didn't want this to be his life, but here they are.] This truly does feel overdue, though. Who knows what mysteries could have been solved more quickly by utilizing this method!
no subject
[Under other circumstances, it might even be a little fun... it still is a little but in a way where he can't really forget why he's doing it either.]
Ahaha, well... we have it for the future now.
[He'd like to be wrong about there not being any more murders after this, but he knows that's not very likely. November seems to have been some kind of fluke... apart from the non-transfer-involved ones.]

Better to have it on hand for future cases. But you might need to also make sure to get the fingerprints of the ones that-- y'know.
[are dead, she means]
no subject
[He's fairly sure Maya didn't nail herself to the ceiling, but nobody else is ruled out completely.]
...
There's a problem with that... Maya's body has already been taken home, and the Vice Principal's been buried. No idea what happened to Sportacus's arm... Rika might have it... I'll ask.
[He also has no idea about Komaeda and Ranger's excavation. There's always next time, but... it doesn't help now, and it's not a great thing to think. He picks up a stack of rough white cards, going through them with a thumb and tapping them on the desk to straighten the edge before putting them back.]
...I'm impressed you'd trust me with all of these, honestly. [Him, 'some rando' as Bonnie put it.] Not everyone will, though. Better to just hand them back to them, isn't it? They can bring them to future cases... and if they don't and don't have them taken again, well, that's a little suspicious, isn't it?
[He's going to become the 'fingerprint guy' either way, isn't he. It saves some time... And also maybe people who wouldn't give them otherwise will because of it. Well, no 'maybe', it's already happened. That's Shin's reasoning, at least, the surface layer on top of his own unsurety about gathering personal data for personal use now the comparison's been formed in his head. Not that he could really abuse having everyone's fingerprints, could he?]
Ah, you're... looking better. Ranger got you the notes, right?
[He wants to ask how she's doing, if she's up for the rest of the meeting, but he doesn't want to go at her pride, either. He's here and feeling half-dead himself...]
no subject
[She smirks rather maliciously, clearly having thought about this quite a bit.]
If any specific fingerprints don't match those who have theirs taken, then we can at least think about those who wasn't checked. Well, if any fingerprints can be found in the first place -- what specifically are you guys checking, anyway?
[Asking for clarification purposes, since that's pretty vital.]
And yeah, I'm caught up, thankfully. I have a few questions to ask since I haven't gotten to see anything, though, but that can wait a bit.

[ ACCUSED TWICE??? IN ONE DAY? She's actually kind of worried about how exhausted Sou looks but she'll never let him knooooow. ]

It's not like you're the only one, Sara. What was that line of Keiji's... doubting to believe?
[He's fine... mostly, although how did Sara do this in the first place? He can't actually make her give her fingerprints, but he's still pushing forward the ink pad for them.]
no subject
[ That was basically her line?? She was the one who had to do all the doubting, because Shin just lied all the time! Augh! Be more polite to the people who actually have to follow up on Keiji's stupid plans! ]
I thought you hated Keiji, and now you're quoting him? Just give me that.

[nevermind there isn't much handholding involved, also... subaru definitely seems in better spirits than before, given its days after the fact of a friend's death and he's had time to tuck That into the deep recess of his mind, and being able to do something like ~give fingerprints~ is apparently exciting. of the two suspects, one of them is enjoying himself.]
no subject
You're seeming chipper, ahaha.
[It's not quite a compliment, coming from Shin. Even if the hair is a plant, which would mean Subaru's exonerated, he's still like. This is a murder investigation? (Shin you were just thinking about how fingerprinting was weirdly fun earlier.)]
