I hate to say this, but you all are easily more experienced with this than I am... Still, there's no reason to wait on this when one of our classmates has turned up dead, and another [she is assuming stephanie is theirs] is in the state that she is. I don't want to think one of us had anything to do with it, but turning away from the truth only invites more pain--

So let's lay out what we know and try not to go at each others' throats about it.

Hm... So let me see if I got it straight then: The kiddo was killed outside of the room, and instead of disposing of the body in a sensible way, they haul ass back to the Student Council room, dig out her key, drag her corpse in. They start nailing, but fortunately they're not so far into it that they don't notice the Vice Principal coming in.

So then they steal her keys, set her on fire, throw her out a window, nail up a body, cause property damage, lock it up, and then go do whatever the else was on their agenda.

[ Not necessarily in that order, but he thinks that's the basic idea. He shakes his head. ]

That's a stupid plan and an even stupider execution. But y'know, with the way people are around here, we can run with it for now.

[ If he were going to go just kill somebody for fun or profit, he'd just throw them in the cremation coffin, turn it on, and call it a day. He'll keep that to himself though since he doesn't want you freaks knowing about his coffin's features. ]

'Kay, so next question: Where was she murdered? Gonna take a guess and say that none of the kiddos that hang around here saw a corpse being dragged around.

Hence why I mentioned it to be a theory. It all sounds counterproductive, but remember: this wasn't really about disposing of the body. It was about making sure we were aware that Arisu was dead. I'd assume that the location was there simply to help narrow down the suspects.

As for where... that's not easy to come up with. It'd be much easier to figure something like that out if we noticed anything was askew in any of the other rooms, or if there was more blood on her person than we found.

You think so? Maybe it was just somebody playing games. I know people like that. It's fine to hypothesize, but you need something to back it up so we can build up on it. A shaky foundation just falls apart.

[ This is the kind of thing one of his coworkers would do just for fun. It's harsh, but then, for an AI that's based in logic and problem solving it's probably only natural. ]

Hmm... To narrow down the suspects, huh? Well, Sara mentioned a motive, right? Why don't we turn it around then. Why would somebody need to frame you kids in particular? Wouldn't it make more sense to cast a wide net and see how much confusion and uncertainty you can cause? For example... If you just threw her off the roof then it could've been anyone, right? It'd be a huge pain to narrow it down.

I... couldn't tell you. For all I know, it may be someone just taking advantage of what they had. It's not like I make it a point to give my hair to anybody. I'd hope even no one else here would do that.

[ There's a little sigh, and Ranger shakes his head. These kids are too naive, though he supposes that by their standards he's simply too callous. ]

[ He waves his free hand, the other holding up a colorful ice cream cone in front of his expression. He seems to consider how much assistance he wants to offer here for a moment. If there's no motive, and there's no logistics, then it's a stalemate. He blows out a sigh. ]

You're too busy trying to prove your own innocence to start suspecting other people. Why wouldn't they do it? Do you really think you wouldn't shift the blame onto someone else if given the chance?

[ He would, of course, as that's what he's trying to do now. ]

You'll pounce as soon as you find somebody else who seems suspicious and let out a sigh of relief, whether or not they actually did it, right?

[ It's hard, but there's no real judgment to his tone. It's frank and matter of fact, unbothered by the idea. It was only natural. The same could be said of a killer. It doesn't even have to be hate, he supposes, just apathy or convenience as with the case of whoever seems suspicious. ]

That's just human nature. Honestly, it'd be a massive relief if I could get out of this unscathed. So... I suppose you're right.

[ In most respects, he's used to simply defending himself. If it were a simple dispute, he'd be able to come up with a reason why it wasn't him and be able to successfully transfer that blame onto another party. It's only natural to want to be proven innocent if you feel innocent, of course.

On the other hand, per his own presumptions... that's just what the murderer is doing.

I don't think Amami could have done it, and at most I figured if he was, he'd be a motive behind it. I don't think that's the case, though. I admit, there are those I'd wish it would be, but that's just selfish on my part.

Then you know what to do, Shirogane-kun, to prove your innocence and the innocence of others, you'll have to find ways to blame others that you wish it to be.

( but that's cruel, that's wrong, and they'll find out which will only deepen the hole he's made for himself. placing a willing target on his back without even needing to, how... messy. komaeda couldn't do such a thing as he just pushes himself into their conversation. )

But you're not that stupid, so think of yourself as part of the group, and build their hopes. Don't do things that would make everything even more difficult. What do the group know that only you'd know that would save the hide of your skin...?

[ ASUNARO, for all it's fault, is a company that values the truth. It's only natural that it's creation would be the same. Such as it is, Ranger doesn't hate that answer. It's better for a person to be honest. It's simpler than some false sense it's selflessness about a stranger. He can work with that, and so he opens his mouth to ask who this person does want to be branded, which would without a doubt end badly, when Komaeda interrupts him.

His dressing, huh...? It is about that time. He's still recovering from an injury. Ranger nods. ]

Sure, I don't mind... Oh, he got stabbed. Still recovering.

[ Ranger must have noticed the confusion to add that. He's realized by now that Miyuki is slow, so he tries to be clear. Still, he thinks that's enough advice so he'll leave it at that, nodding once more to Komaeda before reaching out to give his prosthetic a little tug. His voice softens a touch as he continues on, ]

C'mon, break time for both of us. I'll take care of you.

He's good with his hands, feather-like touches are necessary for a tender wound!

( it's because they're in the dormitory, and it's easier to get to their rooms compared to komaeda walking all the way back to the main school in hopes that the nurse is still here. he doesn't trust many people to clean his wound, and reapply his dressing. )

[ Ranger has the feeling that Komaeda's messing with the guy, so he tugs him along a little quicker. It's embarrassing to be described like that, especially when it's followed up by such a strange way of describing what he knows isn't what he's trying to make it sound like. ]

Sheesh... You're embarrassing.

[ He grumbles, though he really wouldn't expect anything else. Either way, it's completely distracted him from whatever he'd been thinking before. ]

Shirogane-kun should take it too heart, I was plenty disappointed by it.
