I hate to say this, but you all are easily more experienced with this than I am... Still, there's no reason to wait on this when one of our classmates has turned up dead, and another [she is assuming stephanie is theirs] is in the state that she is. I don't want to think one of us had anything to do with it, but turning away from the truth only invites more pain--

[ Consider it a measure of revenge for this whole mess he's gotten into! The intention isn't the best, but it was clear that Sou couldn't have done it anyway, if the theory about abilities being taken away is correct. ]

There's still a lingering odor coming from the trash. Presumably from when the culprit cleaned the room after everything was done.

[ From when the culprit cleaned the room... which, generally the student council room was left in pretty good condition taking into consideration how no-nonsense Maya was. The only stain that Miyuki noticed after the body was discovered was the blood that stained the floor from the nails driven through her joints.

Not just the trash... it was the paper towels inside. They smelled a little of cleaning products. Probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't been searching there, honestly...

[That's making something kick at the back of his brain, something ancient. The kind of advice you get given when you leave home, whether you want it or not... or so it was for Shin. You're right. It is. In some cases they can create a toxic gas that could easily fill the room.

Forget the rust. Inhaling that mixture would be lethal to anyone. It would have been poisoning by fumes.

If it was strong enough to rust metal, wouldn't it be strong enough to affect cloth? There wasn't any sign of bleaching or anything like that...
