hiro is allowed to be here, if he wants, if only because part of this is his sister's death and one of y'all had BETTER take care of him.

I hate to say this, but you all are easily more experienced with this than I am... Still, there's no reason to wait on this when one of our classmates has turned up dead, and another [she is assuming stephanie is theirs] is in the state that she is. I don't want to think one of us had anything to do with it, but turning away from the truth only invites more pain--
So let's lay out what we know and try not to go at each others' throats about it.

[Involved in some way, how is unclear, despite the two day window. But they're moving forward with it...]
Not just the trash... it was the paper towels inside. They smelled a little of cleaning products. Probably wouldn't have noticed if I hadn't been searching there, honestly...
[He crinkles his nose. This is the second time he's had to get up close and personal with a trash can just to be thorough, although at least there wasn't vomit in it this time. Where's Gin and his apparently fantastic nose when you need him, running around accusing people of smelling gloomy...]
It's strange, isn't it? The rest of the room smelled a little like chlorine. [He should know, with how much he goes swimming with Helena.] Why clean with that, and then something else entirely?
[That's making something kick at the back of his brain, something ancient. The kind of advice you get given when you leave home, whether you want it or not... or so it was for Shin. But even that aside it's the kind of knowledge that almost seems to permeate itself of it's own accord. His gaze slides back to Miyuki.]

You're right. It is. In some cases they can create a toxic gas that could easily fill the room.

Forget the rust. Inhaling that mixture would be lethal to anyone. It would have been poisoning by fumes.

Then it would just be a matter of airing it out and cleaning it up... which really would require the key.
[There's that problem that keeps being returned to; the strange burns.]
It could explain how Maya could get burnt under her uniform, too... Would those sorts of fumes do that?

If it was strong enough to rust metal, wouldn't it be strong enough to affect cloth? There wasn't any sign of bleaching or anything like that...
