... Are you fucking twelve or something?

[But she places everything that she's found next to him where he's seated turning on her heel to face towards the door.]

If you can do it on your own, then do it--I'll keep watch on the door. Yell for me if you find yourself failing at the task, though. Because I don't want you bleeding out to death when you owe me.

[Oh, for fuck's sake--

Inaba sighs and turns around with a sigh, hands on her waist.]

Let me see it, then.

[The good thing is that she doesn't seem to be judging or scrutinizing him.]

Well... the good news is that you'll be fine after a few days. But the ointment is going to sting even if I do it, so you're going to have to bear with it.

What is, specifically?

[She asks the question as she goes on ahead to continue where he left off with the disinfectment.]

I wouldn't say that.

[Her voice is quiet, but honestly even as she continues her work. She's has to treat idiots (read as: her boyfriend) before, so this is honestly not something new for her; it's easy for her to do this while talking, and she doesn't seem bothered in the slightest.]

Rather, I think the situation you were forced into in is bullshit. To be honest, I'd argue that you were just... unfortunately convenient.

Humans can't live without the help of other people, after all. That's just a simple fact, that's all. There's nothing wrong with asking for help.

[It's hilarious, though--the irony in the words that Inaba says. As someone who basically isolates herself from everyone else and yet understands this much.]

Fair enough. There are a lot of people here that are... you know.

[But then he asks if it's going to cost him another favor. And while that is a little tempting-]

It isn't. Consider this a freebie.

Ah, maybe I should have made you owe me two after all...

[She answers in a sing-song voice, but she makes it rather obvious that she is just saying it in jest.]

Is it really that surprising? I just simply did it because I'd benefit from it, that's all.

[Liar.]

Well, I'm also just not a huge fan of murder. It's seriously abnormal how so many people's first instinct is "yes, I'm going to fucking stab someone or something".

[Not going to say anything about how reliable she is or anything because she has a lot of mixed feelings on that front; many that float to the surface.]

--okay, looks like we just need to bandage it and then we'll be done with that.

...

[Inaba's quiet for a moment, deep in thought as she runs things over in her head.]

In his particular case, I suppose I understand. When you've already lost something important to you--and then someone who was considered a potential culprit brings you back to the scene of the crime alone, a lot of assumptions can be made there. The thoughts of "what if this person is doing this to kill me next" and "if I don't do something, then I'll die", things like that. You can probably argue that revenge was also a thought, too--there's a lot going on. But even if I can understand it...

[Her words trail off, and her gaze is distant, a little pitiful.]

...it's sad that anything has to come to that.
